Is there a process or foam that could be used so that you could eliminate the Polyester Putty application? Maybe not for your application, but say to create an FRP mould for a one off art piece where tolerances aren't as crucial.

@DrtyKrty Sure, we do one off's all the time. We use 10# or 20# foam and paint it with Duratec paint, sand it and wax it. Art

How did you get the polyurethene so incredible dense?

We can spray up to 20lb. foam and we can get even denser foam from General Plastics.

What type of foam is being cut there? What types of foam have you tried?

Is the foam coated with tooling paste prior to the finishing cut?

We spray foam onto the frame . This is about 5 pound polyurethene, but we sometimes spray up to 20 pound. We use spray foam and we puchase blocks already made.once the foam is cut, fiberglass mat is applied, and then a polyester putty is sprayed on and machined. 3 inches of foam, 1/16th inch of glass, and a 1/4 inch of putty. Then spray with Durotech, sand, wax and polish.

Not sure what you want. The cutting envelope is 96 feet by 27 feet by 13 feet tall. we usually run the tool from 8,000 to 20,000 RPM
