I felt the same way when reading 3 books about master chief and his journey through halo universe. But in the game, the devs. failed to portray that, obviously, because they were lacking someone like Hideo on their side. LOL

Also I don't think it is sophisticated, I think it is giving us a solid vision of HOW AND WHAT we can expect in military in future.
