i like your boat, my dad has an old 79 boston whaler revenge 19with a 140 johnson, we used to fish out at dillon beach for lings and salmon, i want to save up and get back into rock fishing, nit cost a fortune back then as im sure it does now, gas bait lead, poles jigs , gear, launch fees , mooring fees, but it was sure alot of fun, half moon looks calm and nice, back in the seventies, there were hundreds of boats out fishing rock cod in the summers up in nor cal, now i dont see many at all,

Seth nice fish, I fish that hole and others in that area extensively and have many times limited along with some fine 'butts' Its nice to be 3 blocks to the ramp.

The ling that I caught wasn't a monster but in my opinion, it's a great video. If I remember correctly, the fish weighed about 16+ pounds

Nice ling. For the guy who catches nothing but 40 lbs he must be in Canada or Alaska because we rarely get them that big around HMB. As for some of the other comments...I can't understand why people have to be that way. Life is short. Go out and catch a fish and enjoy yourself. Nothing like being on the ocean on a nice day.

The spot I was fishing was mavericks which is maybe a mile out, I think less from harbor. This area is now protected as a marine preserve...and it's a secret bait for a reason fishermen and fisher-woman!!!! haha but it was live bait and not illegal in CA

Im pretty sure there using sand dabs to catch lings out of hmb.... Im pretty sure some of the sportfishers load up on dabs to catch lings as well and personally i've caught with sand dabs...

yeah i was salmon fishing and i thought i got caught up on some rocks at first but then it started fighting so i reeled him in and it was a lingcod about that size. its a shame it wasn't in season i wanted to eat him haha. but yeah i love their teeth
