Well, I'm not going to read through 237 comments to find the ones from the morons who disliked this. One would have to dislike the entire genre to find anything wrong with your cover, even if they didn't care for the song or Tony's style in particular. Great tone, too. I once heard someone almost perfectly capture Andy Timmons' sound. If someone said "Listen to this Tony MacAlpine song" and played your version, I'd be unable to tell the difference. I dig Tony, but oddly I only own 'Premonition'!

The tone is good, thick. sounds like you are using compression, good for preccusive runs. Macalpine does most of the time.

Suena igual para el que no entiende... Para muchos el blues suena igual. Para otros el jazz suena igual. Lo mismo pasa inclusive con la música folclórica colombiana...

En mi caso, respeto todos los estilos de guitarra, mientras su ejecución sea buena y eso observo y escucho aquí.

Claro que hay que entender para poder distinguir, eso no es excusa. Yo conozco mucha gente que dice que el jazz es absolutamente igual. Pero es porque realmente no le han puesto la atención necesaria para entender de qué se trata. Lo mismo sucede aquí... Por otro lado no se puede decir que nos hace quedar mal a los colombianos cuando la banda de él quedó tan bien frente a Dream Theater, por lo que demostró que en éste pais también hay personas que tocan bien esa clase de música.

well, practicing is very important but more so HOW you practice...

for example try to "find ways" to play the part that you can´t play yet, and then repeat over and over,

find the easiest way too, without sacrificing the intention,

I´ve been playing for about 12 years, and I spent most high school playing every day for like two hours, but don´t get stuck on commiting the same mistakes over and over , GET BETTER!!

Advice? Don't attempt it just yet... I've been playing for 3 and 1/2 years, 3-5 hours every day and it's still a difficult song. I'd recommened Metallica and Megadeth songs tbh if you play 5 hours a day and are really dedicated, it's a good way to get used to fast speeds.

If you really wanna attempt this though, I suggest you do Arpeggio exercises and get used to fast strumming, also strengthen your little finger so you can Stretch it far and play quickly with it.

very well played, one of my favorite macalpine songs, and in my opinion, the best of the neoclassical shred output of the late 80's era. one thing I appreciate about your cover is not just the accuracy of the attempt, but that your vibrato is musically adept. In other words, you pay attention to the rhythem of the modulation in your left hand articulation so you don't pull it sharp or modulate it too fast. It's musical, more like a natural human voice. Not enouh guitarists get that. Kudos.
