The chatter from the dry clutches on Ducatis would drive me insane as a rider. For the money, RC8 or RSV4 imo, with RSV4 having the best exhaust and RC8 the best looks. I like Ducs but the 848/1098/1198 is a bit dated now...the 1199 should be interesting
That is the most well put together white 1198 I have ever seen. you even took the time to wrap the exhaust tubes and its a good thing you did because when those tubes start to show their age they don't look to good. Nice job with your 1198 dude!!
@tankerdef99 You don't have to get the Termi's, there are a few quality ones out there. Take a look on ducati.org and maybe you can get some reviews on one you like.
is it easy to get your motorcycles license? i have my drivers license, but i have never used a clutch on a motorcycle. i love this sport bikes and really want to get one
@vaporX60man It is fairly easy. It's all about coordination and practice to increase both your confidence and skill level. You can start with obtaining your permit and I highly recommend you look into taking a basic MSF Course (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) to start off. They offer them all across the US. Good luck!
@vaporX60man To follow up on what DonnyDon01 said, if you're looking at a 1198 as your first bike, forget it. It (and other supersports) require an experienced rider, as they are extremely sensitive to rider inputs, and unforgiving when it comes to newbie mistakes (which you WILL make) and can easily scare you away from motorcycling, if you're lucky, or kill you if you're not. I fully understand why you want one, but it is not a good first bike.
@vaporX60man Look at something like a used Ninja 250r/500r as your first bike. They're cheap to buy, run, and insure, and are extremely forgiving bikes for new riders. Plus, they can be quite fun in their own way. Ride that bike for a year or two, sell it, recoup much of the money you spent on it, and put it towards a bigger bike. (maybe hold off on the 1198 until you get more experience)
What I'm saying is: start small, and work up to your dream bike.

@russianpeanut I don't think it's uncomfortable at all. I don't recommend riding in high traffic areas where you will spend much of your time stopped as it does put out some serious heat while at a stand-still. There are aftermarket seats you can buy to increase comfort and better your riding position. It really depends on you and your preference. The bike is smooth though.

@ali1278 the bmw s1000rr is know as the best superbike out its auto clutch is very popular and it being german and the ducati being italian you would put your house on it that the bmw is more reliable also the ducati is 2 cylinder while bmw is 4 so bmw will cost cheap to run and maintenance, but looks wise this is one sexy machinee.
@DonnyDon01 I beg to differ....I believe because it is a v-twin it has to have the larger displacemnt to keep a level playing field with an in-line 4. I will send you a video response in a few minutes to back up what I am saying. Hope you post it :)

@Joel0277 I don't really think the video/sound gives it justice. When this thing is in gear it sounds amazing and you can tell it apart from anything else out there. It's not for everyone though, and most people wonder what is with the sound of the dry clutch.

It sounds like a Tractor. No offence I love the bike I just wish it had the bad boy soundtrack... what is your opinion on the sound?

@Joel0277 I don't really think the video/sound gives it justice. When this thing is in gear it sounds amazing and you can tell it apart from anything else out there. It's not for everyone though, and most people wonder what is with the sound of the dry clutch.
