@evilmidget They made a pretty damn good port of Dragon's Lair for the ol' GBC considering the hardware limitations. Look it up if you haven't see it already. (the arcade one, not the shitty NES version)
this game was so freaky back in the day - the music still is! I NEVER played this game without my older brother in the room cause it was way too nerve wracking for a little kid like me! I pretty much just left it up to him to play :)
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww SNAP! This game consumed so many hours of my time. My best friend in middle school and I used to do speed runs of this game...so many memories...
zomg i played this game when iwas 6 or something around xD died so many times xDD and the language only in english and at 6 years my english wasnt really good because im from germany :) i saw some speedguide and now im laughing over me :D i think imma downloading an NES emu and the game and this time im going to the fucking end xD but w/e great game and great music.
but ill hope that the fucking fire dosnt burn out XDDDD
@WTFBOOMDOOM We have a wonderful idea. We think it would be great if shadowgate got breast cancer. This would give the industry something new and exciting. We know it sounds drastic, but think of the character building shadowgate would be getting?!
@TheLegendaryArmor Don't forget driving through waterfalls while trying to drive your pregnant wife to the hospital, before she delivers her baby... Of course, the police is in pursuit after you during all of that :)
yeah this was a tuff game to learn without using any help. I never beat it either. what was cool about this game was that it just required brains as opposed to reflexes. and yeah the music was really incredible. My fav track is at 1:40.
@archmageflash back in the days before the internet we had to beat it without guides...lots of trial and error. This was a game that tested your patience for sure. I remember being the only kid in 4th grade that beat this game though. I had to help everybody beat it, that was a good feeling.
FYI : The first melody in this video (Shadowgate's main theme) is from Herb Alpert's song "1980" off of the album "Rise" which was released in 1979. ("Shadowgate" was not released until 1989) By the way, love this game.
all apart of the great atmosphere it provided imo. they music captured going down into dungeons fighting dragons and sorcery with the music very well imo.
Great game, food memories. I actually remember my mom trying to beat this and one day I sat down and figured it out. I'd say prob 1st grade, the final music was sooooo worth it too!
I remember seeing this game for the first time at one of my then friend's house. I remember him playing it and he would always call up the Nintendo Counselors.
YES! Much love to Shadowgate. Great game with great music. The best part of the game is how clearly they explain the many ways you can die. Ah memories. XP
Whoa whoa whoa. This was the FIRST game you beat??

LMAO! Totally forgot about that damn hotline. Oh man, flash back. I mean I never called it, but, you know what I mean.
Anyway the story with this game and me was this...I played it for a really long ass time. Then my friend charlie saw it and got interested. So he played it for a while as well. Then we got a wicked idea to work together. He'd have it one week, then I would, and we traded back and forth updating each other as to what we did till it was beat :)
I feel like I've seen this before, it's like a case of Deja Vu (Yes, I'm lame, deal with it). I've only heard of this game, but I didn't know the NES version was setup like Deja Vu.
