0:18-0:20 I've never seen a suspension have a catastrophic failure like that. I thought about it, but I wouldn't think it would actually go through the hood. Then again these WRC cars do jumps and other stuff that would make regular suspensions just break, but I wouldn't think it'd be something as subtle as a bump like the one they took

@Fezz050 that problem happened twice at the same rally. The problem was that the tires were too strong and they were sending all forces to the suspension. Tires and suspension system have to work together to do the job. Its like 75% suspension and 25% tires, the rubber shouldn't be too strong so it can absorb together with suspension.

3:08 why the steering wheel went up?

Gigi clipped a rock hidden on the right hand side of the road at very high speed. This flung the car sideways and it clobbered a tree stump extremely hard on the left of the car, just below where the driver and steering wheel are on the left hand side. Due to the force of the impact, the whole dashboard was forced upwards (the hit was at an odd angle) and Gigi was forced to sit out the rest of 2008 with a broken leg. Hopefully he is back driving a C4 in 2010.

@tenkuunokage Yeap. Like thltube says, they were fixing the suspension and the jack failed, and Miikka Anttila (Jari-Matti Latvala's codriver) was trapped under the car for a few seconds, but nothing happened to him, he finished the rally and is still in the business.
