for anyone interested, there's an academic essay I came across called "When Harry Met Buffy: Harry Potter, Buffy Summers and Heroism" and it explains how they're basically the same plot; a chosen one in the battle between good and evil, one brainy female friend, one male friend, one older mentor who leaves part of the way through the journey, etc. Bloody Brilliant!!! <3
