It's all about what you enjoy doing and then you do it to the best that you can...Here is one of the best examples...She, Linda just does what she enjoys...and to perfection
FANTASTICA VOZZZZZZZZ....E INTERPRETACION......UNA TESITURA DE VOZ ....BONITA Y SINCERA.........Y ESO VALE MAS QUE EL MEJOR DE LOS MARKETING...Y A ELLA NO LE HACE FALTA.......SIEMPRE FUE UNA DE LAS GRANDES......ESTA CLARO EN ESTE VIDEO.......Y EN TODAS SUS GRABACIONES........MEJOR EN ESPAÑOL QUE EN INGLES........WUAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
@Lindawatcher this is the tonight show w/jay leno, sept. 17, 1992, ms ronstadt is 46 years old here. i really wish you would find someone else to admire! your comments are absolutely tasteless. ms ronstadt deserves a higher class of human beings to enjoy and appreciate all she's contributed to the music world! i come across your unpleasant remarks about this lady everywhere... and it's disturbing. can't say anything nice... well, you know the rest! she's a LADY! you be a GENTLEMAN. that's all
@dannys2222 YEA! She had put on some weight here.... but not really heavy yet... I would say it was around 1988+... that would make her 42+ here- - still delicious looking to this man... YUM!!! Dannys2222= = she is starting to sweat here under the lights and that heavy dress... I bet her panties were all moist don't you!!!! MMMM MMMM hee hee
I am a huge LR fan. I don't speak Spanish, so it was a while before I started listening to her Spanish stuff. She sings Spanish songs better than she sings the English ones. More passion, more commitment. And I think she sings the English ones GREAT. I got this album and love it. BTW, I never saw her dance on stage like she does at the end of this. Linda Ronstadt - my all time favorite.
the little chubby guy in the white blazer playing the cuatro is my uncle. that same jacket he wore he later gave to my dad and my dad was buried wearing it. funny to see the jacket here.
As a matter of fact, i do have culture and background. i'm hispanic. I just say that it must have been difficult with the pressure to play american music to say heck with it and play what is deep in her roots. at least one part, the spanish part. do me a favor and show some class in your comments and not disrespect.
I'm not a huge fan of Hispanic music... just not my thing. However, I have to say, the more I hear (and I've been hearing a lot more recently on NPR now and then)... well, it's really excellent. And this bit here, well, ronstadt sounds great as usual.
no disrespect but this comment is kind of funny. i mean, in english we listen to british music or anything in english we like. it's quite similar. unless you have very provincial taste you likely have a "diverse" music collection at least in one language.
oh that's winston marsalis? it seems he has to struggle to even be heard. guess it's an ego thing common in the music industry. still, i like the class Linda brought to this piece. it must have been difficult to decide to do music about her native cultural background considering alot of her music was country. she did nicely. my uncle tells me she was nice enough to make him breakfast. that was kind of her.
what on earth is the clarinet guy doing on this song? it just doesn't belong in this performance. the song is latin salsa. clarinet is jazz. everything is great, but the clar is out of place.
The clarinet is the only dissimilarity to the arrangement on the studio album. I think it was just added by Marsalis for personal reasons. You're right, it doesn't add anything.
Linda please do a CD with Los 3Os

when she sings this kind of song, and the rancheras you can tell she is singing the music she loves the best.

I agree! By the way, her background is Mexican, yet this song is Cuban. I love how she's not afraid to unite all our cultures.

It's not a clarinet. It's an alto sax.
chasmex 3 years ago
I stand corrected. Anyway, it is a little out of place in this arrangement.

I actually made a mistake...it's a soprano sax. But yeah, it's a bit out of place.
