"Air horn" was a stupid sound to choose. It is not recognizable like a traditional siren sound and visitors would not know what to do. Also, the State of Oregon mandates that a rising and falling siren sound be used for tsunami warnings.
Do you know where that siren is located? I live on the north end of prom street and there's a pretty large Whelen siren a few feet away from the beach.
"So now you know what that sounds like, you gotta run up the hill like where I'm at, huh? 'Cause we're safe here."
For some reason, there's an irony in that quote.

Those sound awful compared with the old sirens. Does the FD still use the old ones?

That is so weird! I am use to the sirens in seaside. Do you know exactly what the new warning system is?
