I'm curious where the light comes from. If it's coming from above the platform, then I think it's very interesting how the device can accurately project the light on the 'right places' (if you will) on the platform. Other than that, it's pretty neat stuff. Also, I like how the sensetable forms 'strings' between the objects on the surface of the platform. (Specifically how complex the patterns of the strings can be). I've never studied that much programming but I'm guessing it took some effort.
it's called ableton live and every kid can get it free with a $100 keyboard. this is what MIT thinks is cutting edge? oh, and i have been an electronic musician for 35 years.

I think this is not a table. this is a projector on the ceilling with the video which is reflecting images on the table, and that someone just moving hands on the table, pretends that he/she does it. he he he the light appears over his hands!!

It's probably something akin to a smartboard with software outputting the lines to a suspended projector.

Of course is a projector, but the table is sensible to movements, so it decide what is going to appear in the projector.
