30 years ago, right on January 1, Cambodian people was robbed, stolen of their lands and properties by the Vietnamese. Hanoi volunteered Viet army to overthowning the KR gov after they refused to join the Indochina Federation under Hanoi's leadership. KR gov knew the Hanoi hidden's agenda. Hanoi purpose was to flexing thier muscle taking over the SE Asia countries. Hanoi was wrong and got his ass kicked by Cambodian and International Community. This documentary is good, but it gives way too much time to Sihanouk. There should be more focus on how Sihanouk helped bring about the calamity of the KR. First, his mismanagement and corruption allowed KR to grow during 1967-70. Then he allied with them from 1970-75. Then he allied himself again with them in 1979-1990. He contributed legitimacy to these psychopaths in the hopes that he could cling to some remnant of power. Apparently, he thinks he made very few mistakes.

KR did not attack Viet first. It was Hanoi who provoked KR by sending numerous Viets to live illegally in Cambodian Easter provinces inside Cambodia and along Mekong Delta River. And as you know, every country has rull and regulation for immigration and KR government had a right to do so. KR asked those illegal Viets to going back to VN but they refused and clashed with KR army. 30 years ago, right on January 1, Cambodian people was robbed, stolen of their lands and properties by the Vietnamese. Hanoi volunteered Viet army to overthowning the KR gov after they refused to join the Indochina Federation under Hanoi's leadership. KR gov knew the Hanoi hidden's agenda. Hanoi purpose was to flexing thier muscle taking over the SE Asia countries. Hanoi was wrong and got his ass kicked by Cambodian and International Community. He broke and withdrew his troops in 89/w tears!

I must say... Though Cambodia has gone through soo soo much and have lost so much, our country is definitely growing and changing for the better. Yes it's been a very slow process and yes it is hard to forget but we must keep going and keep hope alive. I know we can do this!

This king Shanouk, shook hands with too many enemies, the chinese communist, the north vietnamese comunist and the pol pot. No wonder not many cambodian respect him. Furthermore, giving cambodia to many foes. Before 1975 he shook hand with the north Vietnamese communist by allowing NV communist army crossing the border. By collaborating with china to fight against VN and be part with the pol pot to set a party. The way he talks, sound like a joker. No wonder, no cambodians listen to the man.

I'm not be 100% right here but about Cambodia history, the French gave Sihanouk the throne so that he and Cambodia can be controlled. He's not a royal blood. The other thing is, Sihanouk did not married to a Vietnamese woman but rather a French one. There u go, please check the history of Sihonouk. In all, the reason he is still alive today because she shook hands with every one and every one were his friend, including Hoz clan, Maoz clan, Polz clan. Cambodian children will not thank him

sunof cambodia, the equilibrium of cambodia was caused by washington's coup. the new puppet regime was weak and soon fell. for the first time the world saw u.s and chinese interests mesh: pol pot. vietnam would not have sought out another war unless it was absolutely necessary. they had to fight off the chinese as a result of their decision.

If VN did not invaded Cambodia, where would Cambodia be now. If you watch one of the documentaries, it said that Pol Pot had massacre almost half of Cambodian population and that's not all. If VN did not invaded Cambodia, how many more millions of Cambodians that PolPot will massacre. At least VN has stopped the killing fields. At least VN has given Cambodian children some hopes of rebuilding KMER and runs on her own course in the future. VN helped Cambodia becos theyre your neighbour & brother.

This documentary is good, but it gives way too much time to Sihanouk. There should be more focus on how Sihanouk helped bring about the calamity of the KR. First, his mismanagement and corruption allowed KR to grow during 1967-70. Then he allied with them from 1970-75. Then he allied himself again with them in 1979-1990. He contributed legitimacy to these psychopaths in the hopes that he could cling to some remnant of power. Apparently, he thinks he made very few mistakes.

Khmer Rouge attacked Vietnam first and committed monstrous crimes against vietnamese people. Vietnamese People's Army crushed the barbarian (but coward ragtags Khmer Rouge) in their Christmas Offensive 1978. Vietnam defeated Polpot's Army (or ragtags) in just 2 weeks to liberated the near dead/starving cambodians from the ruthless Khmer Rouge regime. Vietnam has lost more than 52,000 of their sons in this quest. I can see how ungrateful some cambodians are...the savage people !!!

KR did not attack Viet first. It was Hanoi who provoked KR by sending numerous Viets to live illegally in Cambodian Easter provinces inside Cambodia and along Mekong Delta River. And as you know, every country has rull and regulation for immigration and KR government had a right to do so. KR asked those illegal Viets to going back to VN but they refused and clashed with KR army. They ended up death.If they would have listen to KR, they would be alive and enjoy YouTube as you're doing now!

I heard North Vietnam wanted Khmer Rouge to join them against South, but Khmer Rouge would not/refuses. For my first message, I said the North Vietnam went through the Cambodia Border (Which I think are Ho Chi Mihn Trail) to ambush/surprise South Vietnam from the West. It became a huge disadvantage to South Vietnam and U.S. that U.S. chooses to bomb withing Cambodia's border to destroy the Vietnam base. (Alert, I have not study much about the Cambodian Campaign, Tet Offensive, and more, so it is possible that some of my sentences could be false).
