  • james williams, your a fucking retard to even ask this question....hopefully you will not have any kids to pass your views on to,OMG your a fucking IDIOT.....

  • This is how you know we are American.

  • nuke the whales!

  • stupid to us a nuke under any circumstances

  • Nukes are the solution for most social and environmental problems. Immigrants, commies, feminists, protesters, atheists, homosexuals, evolutionists, foreign nations, endangered species, the hole in the ozone layer? Just nuke them. Sure the effeminate liberals will whine about it but they can't deny that it works.

  • I say this: double duh! maybe using some that nuclear arsenal in a suppository form would make them BRIGHTER ! Surely would redefine glow-bold (global lol)

  • Reminds me of operation plowshare back in the 50's and 60's when they thought they could move mountains, make harbors and dig a new canal in Central America. Fortunately wiser heads came into the mix.

  • Great plan.

    How fucking daft.

    Who even suggested this stupidity?

  • Who suggested nuking the spill in the first place?!

  • @anzin74 RUSSIANS YES

  • Uhm, I believe that this idea deserves a lolwut.

  • Today I'd read on Discovery Channel daily schedule that they will show a program on the engineering challenges actually been faced in the Oil Spill disaster and corresponding clean-up (Clean-Up???). Let's check it, because I suspect some disinformation and misleading could be possible here, due to the actual media black-out. I hope they present a really transparent version with the problem of the difficulty in containing the super-high pressure above 20000 psi.

  • If your saying we cant nuke it because it will just make it worse then how are we going to stop it? The blowouts that Russia delt with didn't stop for years it was like a eternal flame! Until they used a nuke.

  • @Krayz8o8 A nuke has never been detonated so close to a fault line. If they do use a nuke they risk rupturing the oil well, igniting the gas build up and causing massive earthquakes accross the US. A nuke is not the answer, it will do more harm than good, it will make this disaster 100x worse.

  • why don't they just clog it with toilet paper?

  • wow lol

  • They're not weapons, but low grade nuclear bombs. Also, The pressure that forces the oil up the well comes from the pressurized gas that is trapped between the lake of oil below and the impermeable strata above. The gas pressure is 12,000 psi. If the pressurized gas weren't there the oil would come up, but at a much slower rate, only because oil is lighter than water. The well pipe goes all the way through the pressurized gas and deep into the lake of oil. This is my understanding.

  • wow is this seriously an idea? lmao, when i first heard this it sounded like a southpark episode, you cant just nuke your problems LMAO

you know what they should do? go down there in a fuking sub, take some fucking metal and cover the fucking hole, wtf is wrong with people? how stupid are they? just cover the hole =b

  • UPDATE : ! They may actully do this now ! Who Knew ?

    LMFAO

  • well if they do i wont live to be 12 years old itll kill wildlife poeple destroy beaches if the spill hasent already

  • since when has it changed that the solution to everything is to use nukes? it worked when i was 5 :(

  • poveri sciagurati....:)

  • just use napalm and massive flame throwers

  • what i dont get is did bp not have like 50 "if this happens we do this" fix it type plans?seriously thats just stupid business planning. if you make a mess clean it up.

  • Ok, well What we should of done was the plan that was already set in place and funded by our tax dollars. That was to burn the oil as it surfaced. But oh no, they didn't do shit. Probably due to those environmentalists and EPA hooplas that it wasn't burned like it should have been.

  • @WWoodyW uh yeah, the only point being that burning the oil as it gushes to the surface is orders of magnitude more environmentally damaging than cleaning it up throughout the spill.

but you're right, those silly environmentalist hooplas definitely preferred having the oil destroy the flora and fauna of the entire gulf coast and severely pollute worldwide oceans for a decade rather than burning it and creating millions of tons of greenhouse gases and toxic waste. it's a no brainer.

  • @neurocrater

greenhouse gasses and toxins that will be introduced into the environment anyways

  • sigh..... it was an expression, blow it up is what they ment...

  • the oil spill is really eye opening, i wish there was more they could do faster.

  • 65.5 million years ago in the Cretaceous, a dinosaur died because a huge asteroid farked him up. 65.5 million years later, human decided to nuke has ass again.

It has to be the most unlucky dinosaur ever.

  • instead of getting rid of the oil why not get rid of the water and have a sea of oil.

  • solution to all problems a NUKE!

  • Mankind is so dumb

  • why not lower a hose or two down there and pump it up right into a oil supertanker?

  • Why don't they just reduce the pressure by sucking it out of the pipes faster than it enters?

  • wha...?? Why..? HUH? WHY WOULD YOU BOMB IT? Maybe i just dont get it, but that just sound STUPID

  • Just the idea is retarded.

  • why not stick a nuke in Obama's ass and tell him to swim his ass down there and fartt into the well

  • its just crazy to think about you drill 1 hole and you can fuck the world up.

Just makes me think how much Oil is in that one spot underground. And Obama charged BP 60 mill dollars im sure BP makes that in 1 week so sad.

  • @RealDeohge the first 3 months of 2010 BP made 5,598 million... that's a little less than 500 million a week... they make over 60 million in one day.... very sad.

  • @nicklesaj Oh mybad thats even better thanks for being a asshole verry sad

  • @RealDeohge I didn't mean to come off as an asshole, I just read your comment and got curious so I did some research. I thought I'd share my findings with you. when I said "very sad" I was agreeing with you. Sorry again if my comment came off the wrong way

  • @nicklesaj Oh well then im sorry dude i just get alot of rude comments on here have good day ;)

  • Not a nuke but a nice size bomb will WORK!!! it will make the sea floor collapse on itself no more oil. Think about it

  • Nukes in water, will kill everything within like 5 miles. Not that it's already dead from the oil...

  • i'll just take a piss there and solve this shit!

  • Nukes ? ! Now DAT´s a clevva idea. for ye. Will surely save wildlife .

  • Drill on land only greedy world whore dollar mongers. A side of TAR with that Tuna steak?

  • how bout they just get another oil rig prepared real quick instead of trying all the fail attempts

  • The best long-term solution is to nuke ourselves.

  • @Hyenashowl thats true man... srsly sometimes i feel embarrased to be a human. =/

  • @Hyenashowl Just nuke the Whitehouse.

  • @Hyenashowl emo

  • @Hyenashowl i hate faggots who think the wold would be better without humans

  • Where would they get a Nuke? Do oil companies have Nukes?

  • in soviet russia, oil spill nukes you!!!!!

  • fireworks are more powerfull than a nuke >D

  • Why not bomb BP?

  • @Trevorthekid Its not all of BPs fault you fucktard. Its the AMERICAN section of it that FUCKED UP.

  • @Trevorthekid

dude seriously your retarded and you have no idea what your talking about

if you think for a second that they arent trying their very best to stop this your very wrong

every second it goes on is going to cost them huge ammts of money and they want to put a stop to that IMMEADIATLY

if you want to blame ANYONE blame the US govt for not letting them burn it while it was at sea or waiving the jones act to let forgin vessals assist the cleanup

  • @kindnugz420 - Haha why do people get so upset over comments? It was a joke! Besides, what's with you and BP? It's an oil company. It's not like it's a charity that feeds little starving children in Africa or anything.

  • rofl is that a joke? how fcking retarder is that what will our grand kids think of us if they know we were trying to stop oil spills from killing animals by trowing nukes at these animals, wheres the logic?

  • @h20kill the logic was with the russains. to me it wasnt a bad idea because its worked before but they already said that it wouldnt work because of the rocks in the gulf.

  • @SufferingSarge and maybe also because of the nuclear radiation? lol

  • Thanks so much -- I live in southeast Louisiana (unfortunately) and it's bad enough that this glop is destroying my home without having to listen to nut jobs seriously advocating something so irresponsible.

  • Looks like only USSR had balls to nuke the problem.. :P

  • Have Chuck Norris pee in the well, it'll surely clog it up.

  • HELL YEAH! America's answer to any problem is a good nuke. What's that?Japan wont stand down? NUKE EM'!.

  • Just harvest the oil straight from the sea. You figure with the basic science that oil floats above water than they would have started harvesting the oil in the water while they get the new well set and started.

  • @Demolitiondude Whit what buckets we are talking about thousands of barrels.

  • @BGSlopy The Coast Guard got a tanker barge with vacuum pumps for oil tanker spills. Round them up and send them over there.

  • How about just a regular bomb not a nuclear bomb to crush the oil well and use cement to sure up leaks?!

  • why dont you burn the oil and evacuate everyone

  • I'm glad we have SOME people on earth that have brains. Otherwise imagine if they did nuke the sea floor. That would be the end of us for sure.

  • How about the radioactivity?

  • Or you could use a vacuum bomb, with no environmental threat.

  • Nuclear bombs should be really seen more as an everyday tool!

  • nukes are a bad idea.

  • A nuke would make it uncontrollable? So am I to assume you're saying it's controllable now?

  • And what about possibility of the nuke bomb flooding the shoreline? Not a good idea.

  • silly russians and their nukes :p

  • @Exutus yes

  • This is old news. The idea of using nukes was brought up weeks ago. It was ridiculous then, it's ridiculous now.

  • I still think a bomb would have been more effective from the start than every single other of BP's ridiculous attempts to stop the well. Regardless of whether it does cause an earthquake or not, a single hurricane does considerably as much damage in the gulf. Additionally, you don't have to use an incredible force to displace the earth in order to block off the well. The more you wait around doing nothing, the more the leaks are going to continue to devastate. Ask yourself what's your priority.

  • @Dzakku Three points why it is a dumb idea. 1. The damage may be equivalent to a hurricane or alike in quantity but definitely different in quality and type. Hurricanes don't shake the see floor and emit radioactive parcels.

  • 2. The see floor of the the gulf would break into large pieces instead of fine ground small sized matters. Pieces of crust of earth can only expand the leak instead of replacing the earth evenly with fine soil.

  • 3. It is under water. Soil and floor debris would take ages to fully sink and form a solid hull to seal the leak. Actually the pressure of the oil surge would prevent the formation of the hull forever. One more. 4, Oil is stored in shape of a static layer with tremendous pressure. How on earth could a force which would blow away the upper cover of such a "oil bag" be seen by some people as the way to keep it in better shape? Ask yourself.

  • @GTFrank On your point #3 and #4, you don't bomb the top of the well. The point is to use push the geological features that surround the well straight into its path using a force such as a bomb to achieve this. By drilling a hole at an angle you can get near enough for the weapon to be effective. The displacement also has the advantage of shutting fissures, which are already causing a problem as the oil is also now escaping from the ground itself.

  • @GTFrank You do realize that there are ways to reduce radioactivity right? There also exist non-nuclear bombs and weapons that could produce the effect necessary to displace the earth and achieve the same result. Moreover, if you place the weapon in a position where the displaced mass of earth won't cause a depression overtop, then the minor quake won't be enough to cause any damage other than the immediate surrounding of the weapon, which would presumably be set off under the earth.

  • It would be a simple solution, all you do is just get a 25 killstreak!

  • @EchoBoomer1987 Hahahaha.... that cracked me up!

  • SOVIET FOR lyfe it works so do it!

  • nuke those bastards. hahahahahahahaha.

  • nukes really do solve everything homework to stalin, but they can't solve an oil spill like this

  • I'm surprised that nobody has commented on the biggest problem of all:

Why would you use a nuke to stop an oil leak if the same problems are concerned.

Reason for stopping oil: Endangering sea life and humans.

Nuclear bomb: Fallout endangering sea life and humans not to mention the problems listed in the video.

    I don't know if it's a problem maybe i'm wrong.

  • the oil leak is fiixed now

  • @Mountaind33w far from fixed

  • I have to go with what this guy is saying. True it worked four out of the five times the idea was used to stop oil spills, but all those attempts were on land, and doing it under water would pose a lot more problems, as he says in the video.

I don't know what the answer is, but it isn't nukes. Not in this case.

  • @kyuketsuki16 well i would agree with you there but the clay and mud down there would be solidified by the immense heat depending what yield but a 50 megaton hydrogen bomb could be effective because it will effectively make all that clay into porcelain anything higher well good by gulf

  • @kyuketsuki16 not to mention all the other oil platforms around it...

  • yay! radioactive oil!!

  • A nuke would solve a lot more of America's problems than just the oil spill. But you'd have to detonate it inside Congress for it to have the desired effect.

  • Nuke=Win

  • I just hope they fix it quickly :|

  • I don't think nukes are the answer to anything.

  • Comment removed

  • DAM COMMUNIST'S allway's come up with the worest idea's i mein nukeing a oil well WTF!?!?!?!?!? what was Stallan smokeing when he came up with that idea?????!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @ThePolerbearproducts Did you even watch the video dumbass?

  • @ThePolerbearproducts You're really smart bud, did you not hear that it fixed the problem 4 out of the 5 attempts?

I am American, but I still say that was a really good idea.

  • lol tactical nuke incoming mw2 lol

  • who cares LETS GOO WITH THE NUKES :D

  • Floating rocks at 1:44

  • actually few of them were underwater... and like you said 5/4 were ok, so i say NUKE IT!

  • set it on fire!!!! i should stop it from being on the surface of the water, it just burns off

  • that seems to be the going theme, lets see how we can make this worse// I dont know what the long term effects of nukes out in the ocean is but it cant be good, its only the source of all life on this planet,Whos retarded idea was it to nuke leaking oil wells in the first place, I would like to gnaw flesh off of their childrens bones

  • @FLAGGEDbyU2 yeah, Agreed. because first off, the Radiation would kill off all life underwater, and secondly, The Spill is too close to land. It'd be like hiroshima and Nagasaki All over again

  • @ninjasheriff96 true the radiation could also get in our drinking water and cause cancer or genetic mutation.

  • the world is going to end :D

  • i could've told you that

  • lol wtf? hahahahaha

  • these guys are fucking retarded. and this oil spill is staged so that the u.s and canada will turn to using foreign oil instead of domestic. not only that, but the clean up would not have taken very long if they would've done it much, much earlier with bacteria that can eat and destroy oil. it would have been a much safer, quicker, and less expensive clean up then the one employed now. plus, the chemicals being used in this clean up are actually more toxic than the oil itself

  • @UFCMania98

    wow u are retarded...

  • @UFCMania98 what trailrail said...also this oil is foreign oil...the cause is from BP and they're based in the UK...

  • @UFCMania98

BP isn't an American company...and you say these guys are "fucking retarded"?

  • @bigdude90 I'm not talking about bp, lol. I'm talking about whoever the hell thought of the idea to use a nuke to solve the oil leak/spill

  • nukes, the most exspensive duct tape in the world

  • their really freaking up the environment

  • This is pretty funny since just an hour ago. I made a comment to a coworker that sooner or later some idiot is going to propose nuking the oil rig.

    Guess I was right.

  • well it will be cool to watch at least

  • It iz da answer ma son.

  • Bp was fixin' yesterday the leak with robots but they made it bigger!

  • ENEMY NUKE INCOMING! ITS OVA!

  • @Godofwar181 u play too much cod

  • nukes solve everything

  • Nukes seem to solve anything, from a leaky well to a huge asteroid heading towards Earth. So you could say that nukes are like duct tape XD

  • @gamehero77 that non sense does your duck tape is radiated ?? does your duck tape make a third arm grow on you ?? .. yeah i just got my leg broken why not fix it with nuclear bombing xD

  • @benny6666 stupid!

  • @gamehero77 do you know what you are talking about?

  • @RRMoore699 what do you mean?

  • @gamehero77 so true

  • @gamehero77 Using it on a asteroid would be a bad idea. The bomb would turn one asteroid into a million asteroids and it would create a radioactive area in space.

  • @Black8035 lol I know that! Its one of the worst ideas on how to take care of an asteroid. All you need to do is push it slightly and it'll go completely off course. Anyways I was making a reference to Armeggedon. That movie where they go to space to blow up an asteroid hurtling towards earth. :)

  • @gamehero77 Ok then.

Your comment was still funny btw :P .

  • @gamehero77 amen brother!

  • YES IT IS ! THE ANSWER

  • We can get off most fossil fuels within 20-30 years if we put a concerted effort into solar, wind, fuel cells, electric cars, algae biofuels, and new nuclear technologies.

We also need a new national smart power grid to move electricity.

We can use a carbon tax on fossil fuels to pay for it, and it'll provide millions of JOBS that can't be exported.

Europe & China are ALREADY doing this and America will lose out in future green energy technologies, if we don't.

We owe it to our grandchildren.

  • ______°°}{°°_______

  • nukes solve every problem from homework to hitler

  • @StarGateWorldsFan33 No, Hitler is more powerful than any nuke because hes got a magic mustage

  • @StarGateWorldsFan33

    but hitler shot himself :D

  • @StarGateWorldsFan33

    haha nice comment hahahaha

  • @StarGateWorldsFan33 uh thats interesting you would say that because hitler would have had a nuke by 1946 even earlyer if he didnt kill all of the jews in that department. he called them jew physics (well if you think about it droping nukes on others is pretty jewish).

  • greed is considered a deadly sin. now it may be just the time for us to figure out why.

  • @Vitaminnn07 greed is the only sin with out greed no other sin would exist

  • Nuke´s solve anything. º | º

  • @erichathy222 seriously

  • 4 out of 5 times wow

  • @legovador After killing a number of species rendering the coast useless for years. Not only causing problems for the animals (wich will die, ofc) but also the poulation living of the beach and tourists. But the ecological implications are the worst since it affects generations and I'm not sure nature will handle it at the rate it's flowing out. Natural spill is one thing, that's in relative small amounts. This is far bigger and more heavily concentrated.

  • may be not the answer but.. may be the 'proper punishment for those fuktards that are evil people and think that the rest of the world dont give a fuk for the world and the peace.

  • At 1:36 He says, "they were on land", but then they show video of a 5 megaton nuke (the largest underground test ever conducted by the United States) set off a mile underground on Amchitka Island Alaska, equivalent to a 7.0 earthquake. Called shot Cannikin. The ground lifted 20 feet (6 m), caused by an explosive force equivalent almost 400 times the power of the Hiroshima bomb.

Amchitka is a volcanic, tectonically unstable island.

  • nukes do work. the russians have done it five times and its worked each time.

  • @eLLriDe420 4 out of 5 times.. the video even said this.

  • @eLLriDe420 On land, but none of them were at sea.

  • I just farted

  • I thought u was talking about Yellowstone that u would explode the super vulcano!

    (it might be an idea)

  • Nukes? That seems alot like a caveman trying to put out a fire by throwing rocks at it.

  • boom... and then Earth become more close to the end..

    we need galactic help

  • Thank you. You explained it very well as to why nukes in this situation would make it worse.

  • i thought this was a joke at first looking at the titile

  • Now the earth looks like this >> "O"

When we blow it up soon >> "C"

    ^_^

"One often meets his destiny on the path he takes to avoid it" =]

  • All they need to do is put something into the pipe that will flow to the hole then inflate and the size will cover the hole and the pressure will keep it in place

  • @pugzlie18 I've said from early on why BP simply didn't use huge pincer claws (like a big pliers or Vise-Grip) on an R.O.V. and crimp the leaking pipe shut. They used huge shears to cut the pipe after the diamond saw blade got stuck in the pipe, so why in the hell didn't they try crimping it closed early on? What dumbasses!
