@mario2424akakenny, It can't be about "napoleon botanipart" (a royal botanist?), Bonaparte was about power, not religion. Untold thousands of priests, pastors, imams, and nuns died to his armies, nor was he ever "king". I think the song is a general statement about our ability to think we did good, then find our power usurped, then *hope* we did good. It mixes up history in no particular way, and is a great poem from a songwriter, not a Ph.D. historian. The video is cheap but the song is great.

He said that he always imagined a king in a castle with an angry mob outside, and the king realized he had to changed because of what he had become. So it's an optimistic song actually; you can change to world, but only by changed your behavior first. Ofcourse it fits with Napoleon and other kings too, but it can be about anyone :)
