  • I applause Ken Burton for at least being honest on his view points about marijuana. Allot of law enforcement officials are scared to come out and support legalization because they can be ostracized by co-workers.

  • NO, YOU SWORE AN OATHE TO UPHOLD LAWS THAT FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION AND THAT YOUR DUTY IS TO IGNORE LAWS THAT ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL...SUCH AS DRUG PROHIBITION ....THAT IS WHAT YOUR OATHE SAID....YOU OUGHT TO REVIEW IT AGAIN,...OR RATHER, READ IT FOR THE FIRST TIME .

  • @JacOLanternMovies Agreed. Revenge is a dish best served cold in all matters of injustice and corruption.

  • this guy said that he swore to uphold the law. ok that makes sense but don't they swear an oath to uphold the constitution of the united states of america. and were in the constitution does it give blacked out storm troopers the right to invade a persons home for a victimless crime?

  • @plzfuckme1 I believe the key word in ur statement is VICTIM u are completely correct US Citizens have the right to do as the please as long as they dont interfere with anothers own rights and safety there is no victim with weed thus should not be criminal

  • Great response!

  • I like this guy, I like the way he answered the question. Makes me happy to see that even law enforcement theirselves know their wasting time on pot. If it wa legal that shooting would have never occured.

  • yee this cops down for legalization

  • If we "come across" marijuana, he has to do something? Is sending a friggin SWAT assault team after it in the middle of the night just passively "coming across" it? Am I missing something?

  • Th only thing this Fat Lying sack of shit endorses in law breaking by his fellow officers.

  • it's clear that the prohibition of drugs causes more harm than the drugs themselves. if someone does drugs and then hurts someone or steals something they should be arrested, if someone does drugs without harming anyone else than what gives us the right to harm them by putting them in jail or worse? the laws should be protecting people from being harmed by others not harming people to protect them from themselves.

  • @TheThebeers why don't u go back to ur 1 friend and 0 subscribers and leave the grownup talk for the grownups.

  • <3<3<3

  • woot woot! now there is one cop with his head screwed on right on this one! "I'm with you on the fight" wow, those are great words to hear for a guy who doesn't want to be breaking the law every time I have weed..which would be all the time:(

  • Comment removed

  • @HugeJohn51 What does "woot" mean? Also, why do you think this bald man is defending the murder of 1 24 lb puppy???

  • nice cops are hard to find, but theres one right in front of you.

  • @lovegirlspee he's getting so much crap, he'd say anything to get columbia behind him.

  • only after the death of a good dog.

  • @odom602 yeah I tried to post that video as a response but I cant see it on here. What a two faced piece of ????

  • I believe marijuana prohibition should be paid less attention than j walking. P.S SMOKE POT! Thank you.

  • Unjust laws should NOT be followed or enforced

  • Look at this from a corrupt cop's position: "So what if it is the lowest priority. It's still on the books, it's still an easy gig, so lets take advantage and bust em anyway. Besides, after every pot bust, we get the rest of our shift off to go smoke what we just confiscated".

  • America must feel stupid to have declared WAR on a fucking PLANT....what the fuck is that plant going to do to you? lmfao.

  • @xwolbx Not only in N america! I live in Peru, weed is "legal" only if you have less than 8 gr, but cannot sell or buy it. That's fucked up. How im i gonna get it ( growing is illegal too).

  • Seems to be an honorable man

  • @floydbumby

they said that about Dumbya Bush too........

  • Certainly a breath of fresh air. Not as great as the words that Jerry Oliver (former Detroit Police Chief) had about the drug war, but it is positive to have a significant law enforcement official say these things.

Hope this guy is ready for the attacks. Expect clowns like John Walters to attack this man for his honesty. I just hope he doesn't back peddle.

  • "It's illigal". cannabis is not the problem. Those that keep marijuana prohibition on the books are the problem. If congress legalized marijuana this country, law enforcement could move on to more important problems, hard drugs, dangerous criminals, terrorist, illigal aliens. Wake up congress.

  • (1:37) "I don't have anything against it except it's against the law..."

Then why is it still illegal?

    It's time for legalization people!

  • The title is misleading; he doesn't say anything about marijuana reform, he says that marijuana offenses are low priority in comparison to other more serious crimes.

  • @snubbs741 , In the end of the video the cop said "I'm with you on the five, I hope you're successful at some point, we'll see how that goes" Do you get it now?

  • Thats the same city were SWAT shot up the dog in a raid in front of children

  • Cops are hooked on drug busts.

  • This country is very good at putting crappy laws on the books... but when it comes to removing them no one drags their feet more.

  • Keeping pot illegal allows our children to get it easier than alcohol, keeps our jails full of non-violent & non-destructive people, shines a bad light on cops, and funds gangs instead of our States. Pot is illegal because it can replace a lot of oil-based products & because Dupont wanted to corner the fiber market with Polyester, Spandex & the like.

So once again kids, it comes down to the Banksters & the Globalist. We just have to get rid of these vile people.

  • Think about it, if the DEA did their job good enough then they wouldn't have a job.

  • The only way this guy could possibly win my respect is if he personally went to those people's home and apologize for terrorizing their family. What they did is shameful!

  • i hope mo. is next keep up the good work

  • damn right woooooooooooooo

  • I wonder how many bribes he got?

  • You guys talk like this is a win, but he said if you have pot your going to jail bad ideal , he lies

  • @budsky123 He's still a cop.. he has a job to do, whether he agree's with the law or not.

  • @Technotron42

He's a hypocrite. He has a moral obligation to remove himself from his job because he upholds a morally unjust law founded on racism, paranoia and lies. Every prohibitionist is an accessory to the greatest crime wave in America. The war on cannabis- NOT THE USE OF - THE WAR ON cannabis has ruined the lives of over 20 million people since 1965.

This sherriff is only doing PR work to save him and his thugs butts from a violent revolution.

  • pretty decent of him.

  • Drug Policy honesty from LEO. Big props, it takes courage for these guys to go on record with this sort of stance.

  • the law is wrong not the bong.....METH IS DEATH POT IS NOT !!!!

  • i can respect this guy

  • Wow, I wish more Cops were like this guy!

  • Comment removed

  • He should be the role model for cops throughout America! Good for him for being straight up and honest. We need more cops and politicians standing up for what they believe. They know that marijuana is safer than alcohol first hand. They know it is nothing to worry about.

  • Someone should write that mofo an tell him to join LEAP

  • I have to give this guy some respect...he was honest and gave an honest answer..hell he gave a better answer than our president did...at least the cop didnt laugh about it....

  • You noticed that too, yeah that was the first time i said "Fuck Obama". Something that unneccesarily ruins lives shouldn't be joked about.

  • @InKa4484 I know right i mean not only was what he has done twice now insulting, and plus its twice now hes said that he would talk about the most voted on subject and twice now he has acted like legalization would do no good for the economy and that basically were all a bunch of stoners...i had hopes that he would as he said and "change" things......oh wait i forgot hes a politician

  • @firestoneslave Now that's not fair. Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich are politicians, branding all politicians as liars just because 99% percent of them are, is unfair. Now if you wanna say he's a mainstream politician and that makes him a liar, that would be fair. Because at this point you have to lie your ass off to get an American Majority to support you. I've seen Ron Paul speak on prohibition several times and he always talks about it as a serious problem that needs to be fixed.

  • @InKa4484 yea exactly all he does it TALK about it...sorry but when somebody preaches about somethin for as long as he has i kinda dont put much faith in them anymore...i mean come on dude hes not some savior and hes not the only politician out there thats for ending prohibition

  • In Washington, the WestNET drug task force seized all of the pot legalization petitions in a raid. Although this is terrible, I want to give this cop a high-five. Like I read in another comment for the video, we need to stop acting like marijuana is a taboo subject. People need to start discussing it.

If you want to read the story about Washington, search "Washington Drug Agents Seize Pot Legalization Petitions" on digg.

  • we need more cops like this.

  • An honest cop. Well done him!

  • he was fired ten seconds later.

  • I love this guy. Does that make me gay?

  • @copcorona no i'm in love as well

  • @copcorona No bro, its called a Bromance.

  • He seems like a decent guy. It's hard to believe he would approve of a SWAT team raid over marijuana.

  • this is great this guy is exactly what the movement needs. it is so releiving to hear some common sense from (of all people) a police chief! its so sAD that people can get in so much trouble for cannabis, even if its in your blood. however meth doesnt show up in drug screenings because the body excretes it very quickly( a couple of days) whilst cannabis can be detected for a month after initial dose. things are looking up after all for the cannabis culture!

  • well he did not say they would stop using SWAT teams to raid families homes seems like BS to me he found no problems in shooting a caged dog and have terrorize a family over traces of pot...

  • @HDRider420 That whole incident was a total fuckup, I agree. Especially the dogs, who the fuck shoots a caged pitbull and a little corgie. To be fair though, they were under the impression that this guy was a big time drug dealer.

  • Until it affects an officer on a personal level (i.e. wife smokes for her cancer, son has aids, etc) the sympathy/empathy in law enforcement and PEOPLE in general will not change. I have Fibromyalgia with eating(appetite) disorder and can lose several pounds a day if I'm not smoking regularly.

  • If he is sincere he can look for guidance from organizations like LEAP! Its a start

  • I appreciate this man's honesty on the matter.

  • @atcaleb The people determine the law. 61% voted one way, and he says he's not going to abide to the will of the people. It's honesty, like saying fuck you can be honest.

  • NORML/515........the law is wrong not the bong.......meth is DEATH pot is NOT.

  • The world needs more officers as rational as this man.

  • see the answer he gives you is great is basically said well until its legal is this how it is and he's right but it also means his police officers will continue to use the same kind of force with swat and killing people's animals. seriously people need to quit acting like marijuana is a taboo subject to even talk about people need to be more out spoken about it that will get people thinking and can help incite change.

  • Wow! I got goosebumps listening to this officer speak his mind as best as he could. I could feel the compassion in his heart. Not just by his voice but by his facial expressions as well. We need more like this!

  • Very eloquent answer. He addressed the question directly and didn't bring any BS opinions or fake statistics into it. He stated what his job is and thats what he must follow. I don't think there could have been a better way for him to answer that question.

  • He sounds reasonable. That's more than what we're seeing in other places. Bravo!

  • This guy is fucking cunt. He was bitching about the internet footage " I hate the internet". Its OK for the govt to bring in CIA drugs, but we'll fucking kill you if we catch you with a joint.

  • everyones knows what we have to do to end the need for police, but no one is being self-honest as to what that very thing is. no one will say it. wittgenstein said some things are 'better' left unsaid and buddha says 'let not dhamma waiver'.

  • looks like reason is beginning to prevail

  • best cop in existence he needs a 420 award or something
