The trick has been accomplished three times since then. Colgates Jayson Greyerbiehl did it against Yale a year later, and St. Cloud States George Awada did it against Michigan Tech in 1998.

January 2, 1998 - Birmingham Bulls (ECHL) center Jamey Hicks scored a shorthanded, natural hat trick in Pensacola against the Ice Pilots.

im pretty sure a natural hat trick is when they score three goals without anyone else scoring a goal in between

A natural hat trick is three goals in a row with no one else scoring in between. The goals can be in 3 different periods.

the third was was indeed shorthanded. it was a 6 on 3. and yes a natural hat trick is also when you score 3 without anyone scoring in between
