in real life tom lefroy's and jane austen's love was not that serious. he did admit to loving her but said it was a "boyish love". sounds like it was just a crush. nothing that serious. jane austen only wrote two letter about lefroy and none of them imply anything near as serious as the movie depicted their relationship to have been. but it is implied that tom lefroy was jane austen's inspiration for Pride & Prejudice.

i also did that. read a book with a collection of letters sent to her sister. mr. lefroy was urged by his relatives not to get too close to jane austen so he began avoiding her. that's how their romance ended. also, jane only wrote a few letters about lefroy, none concerning anything near dramatic as you described. their love was like a teenage crush. i don't know where you got your info.

Afterward she's began the equal of a masculin author, as he told her in the Lefroy's library. In fact, it seemed he was the only man she really love in her whole life. So I must thank Mr Tomas Lefroy for all the fantastic novels she wrote.

This is one of my favorite part of the movie. He looked so upset when his Aunt and Lucy tells him that Mr Wisley is good for Jane and that she should marry him at once, and then when he see's Jane at the pond they finally showed eachother how they really feel...

It was so romantic when he says to jane that he was her's heart and soul. I think he meant that because at the end of the movie you could tell in his eyes that he was still hers . (Maybe it's just me)
