  • This is a great vid. I love it!

  • I want to go natural this video has encourage me to do I want to lock my hair soooo bad but im afraid of jobs wont hire me what do you think??

  • Are you serious? All these hairstyles are braided or loc'd!! 3 minutes of my life I can never get back.... You Suck

  • great video. I have a similar video that shows similar styles.

  • i love that painting

  • Online dating brides **busizz4me.info**

  • i want to go natural..but i'm scared to get the BC and i don't even know how to maintain or style or. it's hard trying to find someone to braid my hair now! let alone doing the styles from here!

  • @Lust4Me10 You dont have to do a BC if you dont want to..

  • @Lust4Me10 Did you go natural yet? If you wear individual braids you can keep the hair longer or you can cornrow your hair then take it down and the two textures will match better. However, most likely the permed hair is going to break off because the difference in the strengths of the hair. I found the BC to be very liberating once I finally did it even though I was scared my forehead would be too big lol

  • @dramaticblu no I didn't. my hair was so damaged from me trying to be my own hairdresser, i finally decided to go and get it cut really short, like halle berry. she cut it, relaxed it and it's been growing ever since. now since i've been going to the same stylist, it's been healthy and i'm really happy.

  • @MrMikealy What is it you're scared of? Being natural is one of the most liberating and beautiful things you will ever experience. But its a marathon, not a sprint. you have to be in it for the long haul. If you are concerned about what others may think you may have a deeper issue to work out first. I hope you take the leap. I don't regret it and have no intentions of EVER turning back!!!

  • im 13 and my hair wnt grow down to my back like how it was my dad dnt want anymore perms in my head and i keep my hair braided up and wraped up wen it is braided wat should i do to get grown out alot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @prettygurlswagg4 you should give yourself a hot oil treatment and just dont use any heat i am 13 too and i found out my hair was just breaking off well i dont get perms but i straightened it almost everyday so i am going nautral cuz i want my hair to get longer. my mom told me a hot oil treatment really works and just keep your hair in braids until it gets to your back oh and deep condition your hair everyonce in a while.

  • thats some really pretty styles on some lovely natural women, as a black man i think i would love to embrace my natural hair, i wonder if some of these hairstyles would look nice on a black man, what do u think nappystar25?

  • Thanks a lot for this video!! I am looking for a new style to try on my natural hair and I think I just might try one or a few from this vid(=

  • Thanks a lot for this video!! I am looking for a new style to try on my natural hair and I think I just might try one or a few from this vid(=

  • good job....we should love our hair more. i recently did my bc (march 30). it took some getting used to, but i'm loving my hair more and more. especially as it gets long enough for me to style. my hair rocks!! our hair rocks!!

  • Your right. Learn to love your natural hair. I went natural about a year ago and I love it so much. I can't wait to get to 2 1/2 or 5 years natural!

  • this was so beautiful thanks so much, i'm getting old so my hair is so thin on top, is there a style and hair care that would be good for me. one luv.

  • I'm 8 weeks into my transition to natural. I want my natural hair to grow out enough for me to do the BC but it's taking for ever.

  • my hair isnt relaxed with a relaxer or perm it isnt weave its just straightned with a flat iron

  • I love natural hair By Next Year Hopefully I will be able to go completely and fully natural

  • love the hair styles and the song...natural hairstyles shows who you truly are and it's not all about whose hair is the straightest....you can show more of your creative side and do many things with natural hair

  • any woman that says that there r not a lot of styles for natural hair....knows nothing of her hair ...or heritage.......

  • Peace and Blessings, I too am in the process of going natural. The hair styles are beautiful!!! Check out fbstandup1, for some fire documentaries on living healthy.

    Peace

  • I want to go natural but I am scared.

  • @MrMikealy ..dont be scared..just be yourself..be strong

  • @nappystar25 Say, how do ppl respond to you with your napptural hair? For me, especially white ppl look at me like wtf and it's like I see these hairstyles adorned on many other ppl and men and womyn, so it's like wtf? I don't want to sound like I give a fuck, but....

  • @MrMikealy be patient :) It's a process! I'm still going through the process of learning. I've had many big chops due to damage from relaxers and hair dyes. Fortunately, we have a lot of support on Youtube :) Enjoy the process.

  • @MrMikealy yes don't be scared. think of it as you are treating yourself to something new that will be a beautiful experience and learning process. If you notice a lot of people have their "Natural Hair Journey" because that is what it is a wonderful journey of learning yourself your hair and just another way of life that could benefit you in the end. Stay Happily Nappy

  • @MrMikealy DO it! It's beautiful!

  • these styles are all beautiful, can't wait to try them out when my hair grows out a little more!

  • LOVE LOVE this song!

  • whts the song in here??

  • india arie - video

  • I love the style at 1:27

  • this song is PERFECT. if more women would truly listen &understand the words of this song they would go natural. why do we as black women have 2try 2be someone we are not JUST 2be accepted? iAgree w/ India Arie... "my Creator didnt make no mistakes on me"... AMEN :D

  • im 14 and i went natural at the age of 13 && i love it so far and i will always will.

  • people are just not being honest. Most girls i see with relaxed hair always wear their hair just straight! i don't see that much versatility either. natural hair offers way more options. they are so may styles that are not recommended for relaxed jair such as braids, and your hair wont curl just by doing twist out, you will need a lot of hold or heat gor it to stay.

  • I have been natuaral for six months now, I'm proud of the fast growth, but trying to find styles bites, unfortunately, I dont like any of the styles in the video. LOL, braids make my hair shed..

  • I love it, though there is an even broader range of styles out there. There are a lot of styles in this show that are different versions of a similar look.

  • Hello Nappystar25!

I loved the video. I just got Sisterlocks after years of wearing permed hair! It feels so good to finally be free and all natural! Keep up the good work!

  • These styles are beautiful!

  • 2:59 is cute!

  • i like the braids but i am more of a curly/straw curl/ afro kind of sister. it's great that more and more sisters are going natural, it's time to change the stigma behind the term "nappy"....nappy=happy :)

  • i love these but they seem very time consuming!!

  • not at all some of them jus require u 2 twist ya hair go 2 sleep wake up n untwist it..n go

  • 1;50 is hott

  • all i see is braids..I like the curly afro look

  • LOVELY, this is how its supposed to be we are all meant to be different

  • I fell in love with my natural hair!! Its just nappy as HELL at the moment. However I feel much better without the perm and about my myself as well.

_Embrace your beauty and do not let it control you-V.P@WizDum

  • Wonderful~

  • Thank You for posting this video, it was great! Beautiful women, Beautiful hair!

  • B E A utiful

  • are they any styles without braids and fros? please let me know

  • twistouts, wash n' gos, braid outs, bantu knots, rollersetting, set with perm rods or curlformers.

  • Aww i love this vid I never cut my hair to go natural I just kept it braided until the perm grew out and it took me 6 months to grow it out since then I've been getting micros and stuff because I don't know what to do with it thanks to this I have some ideals of what I can do with my hair now.

  • If any of you are on Facebook, join the group "Nrtural Hair." There are THOUSANDS of pictures and the possibilities are endless!

  • whats this song called?

  • "Video" by India Arie :)

  • lol the little girl was cute with all that hair!!

  • Thanx girl. I've been natural for about 2 years now. I was ready to get a perm b/c i'm too chicken to go the dread route. I love my nappy hair, but I felt like I didn't have many options. I'm glad to see that I do. Thanx again!

  • what is this song again?!

  • India Arie-Video...I love this song!!!

  • im thirteen nd tryin to go natural it can be hard cause i dnt wanna break it off tryin to comb it nd at skool dis boy keep sayin gaet a PERM

  • shyt girl dnt worry about him cause regardless of what u do or how u look haters are still going to say slick shit so next time he says something just be like dude why are you worring about ma hair shyt at least mine and all natural and not shnethic like ya girl friends weave

  • shitt. at least you wont be getting bold like half the gurlss that got a perm.

    be happy.

    find styles and manage it.

you wil be happy in the end :)

  • OMGoodness look at that baby with all that beautiful hair at 1:37! If only I could get a fro that big

  • how would i do the style shown at 3:37?

  • 2:35 is what i do with my own hair. hella cute ! i love my natural hair.

  • I have been natural for three years and wish i would of did the big chop a long time ago I love it i feel free and even more beautiful about who i am

  • me too, it's like I just realized how beautiful I am, inside and out

  • damn, its a shame that the only place I can find beautifal, natural, black sisters is on youtube. how come you sisters are so hard to run into

  • lol, where are you looking honey?

  • in South Jersey.... unfortunately. Know any this side of the country?? lol

  • Thats funny. I live in south jersey and I've seen A LOT of natural sistas in the south NJ, PA and DE area.

  • Well, not in Lower Delaware. We have no natural stylists and what natural hair styles I have seen are few and far between

  • where are you looking sis???? It must be the area I live in.. the majority are of European descent and the fellow sisters I encounter dont even wear their own hair - they wear weaves and wigs all the time

  • Are you talking about natural sistas or salons lol? Most of the natural sistas Ive seen are in DE and the Cumberland County area where I have family. Now if only they would get some shops around here that specialize in natural hair. I have a hard time trusting a women to do my natural hair if she isnt natural herself.

  • I am newly natural as well. Did the big chop a few weeks ago. This was so encouraging. Thank you for the video.

  • I am obsessed about my natural hair!

  • This is a beautiful video <3

  • Love this video it was great

  • i am newly natural and this is so inspiring. thank you for thinking of others.

  • im so happy to grow natural^^ i think a lot of ppl are mad at me because i finally stand up wat is rite for me and they so want to control that :P well i shake my nappy hair in victory!^.~ oooh thanks for the video^^

  • I am sooo glad I went natural! It was hard at first and I got some weird looks but now everywhere I go men and women comment on how much they love my hair, but more importantly I'm in love with it! I wouldn't not trade my hair for any other type. I love it because of it's beauty and versatility. I never thought I would be the afro wearing type. If you are thinking of going natural then do it! Youtube is full of natural support!

  • I styled the hair of 1:00, 1:55, 2:59 and 3:29

  • i like the girl's hair at 2:06

  • I needed this reminder. Just because my hair has spring and may not swing, I'm still BEAUTIFUL.

  • I know that's right. still beautiful.

  • and you BETTA know that, girl!!!

  • I'm planning to go natural again so I've been watching videos to get some inspiration and ideas and this one definitely helped. The pics of all those lovely ladies with their lovely kinky hair were very encouraging. Thanks for all the good ideas.

  • On the real, I was about to go to the local haircare store and buy some perm but idk. I've been perm free for nearly 3 years. My hair without it being striaghtened is past shoulder length. I've gotten too confident about the length i guess andd.. It's hard to be a natural black girl in a modern community these days. Not always, but at times, yes. Seeing this vid has made me switch back to my original plan; to stay natural. Although it's a mental war at times, I think i'ma keep it up. Good vid.

  • I cut my hair off in Feb. I work with the public, and you wouldn't believe all the crap I get because I wear my hair in an afro. This video inspires me to stay natural and forget all those chemicals. Natural is beautiful!!!

  • You good girl..:-)

  • They'll get used to it and get over it.

It sucks to get static from your own because you want to wear your own. I LOVE my locks. My daughter..is now locking after growing her hair out. (the perm destroyed her hair). Now her hair is so soft, curly and beautiful!

Her peers would make ignorant comments like" get your hair done". WE r the most self hating ppl on the planet.

No other hair or skin Id rather be in!

  • @blkshun0908 FORGET WHAT THOSE FOOLS SAY!!

  • I miss my natural hair =[ but o well i don't want to chop my hair off

  • BLACK IS BEUTIFUL!!!WOOT WOOT...

  • thanks for this video! once my hair grows a few more inches and i learn how to braid and stuff, my hair will always be styled!

  • I've worn my hair natural for 7 yrs now. I've been thinking about relaxing it. I dont think I want to ever go back to that relaxing shit again. My hair is so thick and healthy now.

  • Do not go back sis'

Keep going in your natural way

  • I plan to for the rest of my life. I dyed my hair a brownish-red color and it is goergious. Thanx!

  • Black sistas...WAKE UP!!!!!

  • whats the name of this song?

  • Video by India Arie

  • thank GOD!

I didn't think there were anymore Sistaz that wore their hair natural.

This is a sight for sore eyes. Waaay too many sistaz are trying to look like something they aren't. Be proud of who you are.

There are few thingz more attractive about a Sista than seeing that she knows her roots, and takes pride in who she is. No sense in an African trying to represent the European idea of beauty.

    I hope this catches on!

  • I am so in love with my hair! I think that as a woman of color, when you can look in the mirror at your OWN natural hair and say "I Am Beautiful!" you have have truly embraced who you are.

  • i love my napps, but i straighten my hair once in a while. i like different hair styles and textures,

but ill never permanently straighten my hair

    or wear weave

or dye it some dumb color like blond, man do i hate when black women dye their hair blond

  • my hair is natural and its been like this for the past seven year. the most i do is get it straightened-and i can always wash my hair and get back my curls.

  • natural nearly 19 years.

  • We are the only race of people who can most naturally, speak volumes of stories with our hair. Love all the styles, but my choice one was @ 2:41.

  • am natural and i love it!

  • Love the video, natural rocks!!

  • there all braids.

  • i love my natural hair

  • Hi,great video,who is the song?

    Thanks

  • "Video" by India Arie

  • I find these hairstyles a bit weird for me (natural curly hair) since I am not really familiar with the hair texture of the darker female. I must say some of these look really nice and if it was up to me I'd probably 'suck' at making the hair look this nice. I admire all those girls for their loving care to their hair. Keep it natural!

  • nice vid.

  • expand your kinky beauty....

  • love your vid!!!!

  • Now this, this is an inspiration to me IN LIVING COLOR! I have been going natural for six months now; no perms, no color, no anything. ;-) It's nice to not be a chemical crack addict anymore. I have broken free from my chains.

  • I LOVE this video. I am so glad to go back to my natural hair years ago. I love my hair's texture. God bless BLACK NATURAL HAIR. Proud to be a black woman...

  • u just mad cause u anit got what we got. you got yellow teeth and blue hair go fuck yourself and stop haten on us.

  • my favortie is on 1:17

  • wonderful. Very inspirational

  • :-) thanks

  • i did too girl... and i'm lovin every single minute.

  • i used to hate my natural hair but now im lovin it.. cuz of this video.. thanx.. btw, wat's the title of the song? it's kinda inspiring

  • I glad to hear your falling in love with your natural hair .. over time it gets easier and easier..:-)

  • I got a few style ideas from this video. Thanks for posting up this video. And isn't it lovely to love your naptural hair!

    peace and love

from one naptural sista to another

  • Beautiful hair,great song!

  • Another great video...love this song!

  • I just love it, natural hair is gorgeous! I have videos with natural hair too.

  • Thats right ! :-)

  • VERY NICE VID AND BEAUTIFUL STYLES TOO! You have to have a creative mind to style natural hair. I believe the more we accept our hair the easier it may be to style.
