@phreddy87 A better comparison would be Jagr vs. Alex Ovechkin...both pure scores who rarely, if ever played any D. You're comparing apples to oranges here...Datsyuk is a magician with the puck and can make something out of nothing, plus he is a three-time Selke winner. Which means he can do all of that and can still man up in his own zone.

Jagr in his day is definitely the better goal-scorer, but Datsyuk is the better all-around player. Hands down.

Datsyuk is the best player in the NHL. Now when I say that, I'm talking about the most complete player, not "best goal scorer" or "setup man". No other player in the NHL can put together his package of shooting, passing, dangling, commitment to defense, physical play (when he needs to). He's the complete player. I would take him on my team any day over Cindy, Ovie, Iginla, and Thornton.
