  • Driven most of the best roads.

Arthur Seat & the peninsula down to the Queenscliff Sorrento ferry, Great Ocean Road (only as far as Warnabool), Dandanong Ranges, Phillip Island & back (did the race track tour too) & Princes Highway up to the Gold Coast & back to Bonbeach where my dad was living at the time.

Always manage to take the wrong way back from the city, got lost several times.

    Beautiful place, fantastic country.

  • This is the view my dad showed me from the top of Olivers Hill when I arrived from Scotland a few years ago, was dumbstruck!

Driven up & down that road numerous times & could never get bored of it. any of it.

My dad works at Mount Eliza so got a great drive everyday.

    Missing OZ, very jealous.

  • @scooteraus1 I love the view too. There are plans to establish a large marina at the base of Oliver's Hill, but it still won't affect the view as you are driving down. I don't know if you managed a visit to Melbourne's Arthur's Seat while you were here, but my other driving video shows the nice view you get driving down that as well. The hill itself was named after the Arthur's Seat landmark that you have in Edinburgh. Cheers. : )

  • Riding on swinging music!

  • i love frankston well the way it was 10 years ago

  • I'm glad I moved to Frankston. Great beach, gorgeous chicks and eveything else. All within five mins of my house. AND... the air is clean down here!

  • ...great vids - beach road is beautiful...

  • Cheers for the comment, but in correction, it is Nepean Hwy. Beach Road, which terminates at Mordialloc, is also beautiful though. : )

  • where do u get all ur info on frankston? it has a pretty interesting history, are there any books on it? along with graham kennedy there are a few other past residents............ robert timms, sir william anglis, stanley bruce (8th priminister of aus), mal waldon, russell grimwade......... and a few others. thanks :)

  • Some of it is local knowledge, but mainly online sources. Wikipedia, some of the council websites and other heritage based pages are good for info. There are however books available at the local library, which are also available for purchase through the local historical society. Regarding Mal Waldon, I only found out recently that he is originally a Frankston boy. Also, the Clock Tower on Nepean Hwy is called the Grimwade Clock Tower if you were not already aware. : )

  • i didnt know about the clock tower :). haha u know heaps more than i do about frankston,do u live here? i think also on or around olivers hill there are 2 beach bungalows designed by walter burleigh griffin :).....

  • Born at Frankston hospital and lived in the area all my life. The location of what you mention is at 619 Nepean Hwy, Oliver's Hill. WBG created two cottages, the first called 'Gumnuts' and the other called 'Marnham' (no longer exists). They were the first WBG structures to be built in OZ, and were a bayside retreat for him and his wife. Another interesting structure on the hill is the Round House at 581 Nepean Hwy. My info comes from the Coastal Arts Discovery Trail booklet, available online.

  • haha awesum :) ill have a look. one thing i cant stand is people saying frankston is full of bogans lol. seriously its the most normal down to earth, clean suburb. 5 mins one way ur at the beach, 5 mins the other ur in the country............ ill never move. yeah i cant get over how much history is here, lol i think in the 1800's there was an axe murder on olivers hill :P..........lol

  • As you know, it's less than an hour to the city from Frankston, and the Peninsula is a quick cruise. You point out that we've got a beach, and now we've also got all the shops you need. I think it is not only a nice place to live, but a convenient one as well. I've never heard of any axe murders taking place, but then I didn't know of a shooting massacre at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne in 1924 until I read about it. : )

  • awesum :)......... nice to see a positive video about frankston. it cops alot of negative comments mostly from people who dont live here. theres hardly a suburb like it, frankston south is amazing, clean, safe and the people are really friendly, i moved her3 4 years ago from a small country town........... frankston has more of a community feel than there, its good to live in such a beautiful suburb......... i wish more people saw its good points like this :) thanks

  • Glad you appreciated the vid, and I couldn't agree with you more about Frankston. : )

  • Oh nice!! Use to live in house at 1.10 , right at top. I'm going to forward this to overseas relatives. Thanks so much. xx
