    1. You got any drills for beginners like me?

    2. Any recommendations on shoes? I had a pair of Nike Shox. They seems to break my ankle very easily.

    3. There is a drill with the use of a tennis ball. I guess that is for beginners?

    Thanks for your help!

  • look thru my vids for the simpe everyday handle drills.

  • will these improve my handles

  • the purpose of practice is improvement.

  • hey dre

i was wondering what do you consider your

    1 go to move is

    2 your best move is

    just wondering,and good luck 5*

  • 1. pullup jumper of jumpstop (pro-hop)

    2. same.

    thanks!

  • what is your advice when you know you have handles and moves, but when it comes to a game or somthing i suddnley forget what i know and wanted to do?

    thanks

  • doing them in games even when u are unsure is the only way youll translate your workouts to games.

  • good stuff in tha videos...but most of the drills are stationary...whats your take on that dre?

  • thanks a lot!

  • Dre I kno you played in a lot of tournaments and had a lot of tryouts were u ever nervous nd how do you deal with it because I tend to get nervous sometimes

  • get better as a player and ur cnfidence will improve with experience

  • thx for the advice and I saw your website hope you make it to the NBA

  • no prob. thansk!

  • thx a lot for the vid it really helped me. i have a question. Im a pg and i wanted to know when i bring the ball down the floor should always use a crossover or are there certain times I should?

  • crossover is for creating space from defender. there are many ways to do that in addition to that move. in & out dribble, changing speeds, etc.

  • Yo Dre I got a problem. I mastered all of the dribbling drills in your vids, but when I get in a game i still ripped while dribbling, and when ppl see how good I do these drills they swear that I have the best handle. What should I do to dribble good in games.

  • play in more games, get more experience dribbling vs. defense & ball pressure

  • yo dre 3 quick questions before i go work on my game as a pg when you bring the ball up the court what do u look for? If your teammates arent moving around or setting screens or anything is that the best time to call for a pick and roll? Also people always want the pg to pass to everyone but when do you think its time for you to score and make your own shot? ty :)

  • 1. look at your teammates and the defense.

    2. get them moving! you are the leader on the floor.

    3. thats for you to feel out, as you play mor u will get better at deciding

  • I am fourteen years old and I think tose moves are great.

Thank You for the great videos.

  • thanks a lot!

  • Ok, I'm 11 years old and I'm trying to work on my ball handling skills, but I'm pretty sure that I am not gonna be able to do those moves quite yet. So so you have anything to start me off easier?

  • watch my other vids

  • hey when did you first start playing ball?

  • read my website

  • Hey dreupt, I've been working on some of the drills that you put up in your first vid for about 2 weeks, but I'm having trouble with some of the 2 ball exercises where you put one through your legs. You look like you're 6 feet plus, I'm only 5'8", 5'9"ish, is it just harder for me cause I have shorter legs or do you think that problem will go away as my handle gets better? Thanks. You've got great videos btw.

  • the length of your legs or overall height has no bearing on your ability to do the drills. as you continue to do them youll improve.

  • Thanks man. I wish you well.

  • no prob

  • Very nice video! i gonna work on those drills and some other

  • thanks!

  • what team you want to play for if you will be draft in NBA?

  • doesnt matter

  • how long do you practice

  • s long as needed.

  • thankz fo tha tips man. u gave me some gr8 ideaz fo tha off season

  • great!

  • Yo man. I think I may have played against you a couple years back in the King of the Courts in Miami. You nice. In any case, do you find that after doing heavy ball sessions that you're jumpshot is a little long, or hard to guage. I know it's about 3 pounds. I've been using a 6 pound medicine ball on my weak hand, and totally avoiding using it on my shooting hand for that reason alone. How effective is that 3 pound heavy ball?

  • your shot may be off for a few minutes afterwards but it's just like if you had lifted weights. the Heavy Ball works well for me.

  • hey..one question. what should i do when my coach tells me not to shoot from an area because he thinks im not good there? i shoot from that area at least 45 mins before practice and knowing that he's watching gets me nervous and then im not gonna make the shot when i shoot it...what should i do?

  • practice it on your won and become beter at it.

  • hei nice job..do u get scared when u go againts people dat r really gud + wit a lot of people watching...i play division 1 varsity b ball n im always the smallest man in the court..my ? is how do u handle the pressure when evry1 looks down on you??thnx men really gud ideas 4 me dis offseason ...

  • thanks! na i dont get scraed ever; cant play your best if you are scared. as your skills improve, so will your confidence. if everyone is looking donw on you, you have nothing to lose!

  • sup dre its been a year since i wrote that comment up there had the biggest improvement cuz of your drills n instead of a bench player i was starting point guard all of the games except d playoffs cuz i tor my acl..thnx dre youll here from me again next year keep it up..

  • @allpinoyballer37 glad i could be of assistance. thanks!

  • I rly like ALL ur videos because u dont stop practising and thats way is the best for basketball....just do that man and dont worry for NBA :) I WANT TO PLAY BASKETBALL I WANT DUNK I WANT TO DO CROSSOVER LIKE IVERSON EHEHEH :) see you man

  • thanks aot!!

  • for some reason i just have to know were your balls wet while you were practicing

  • the balls were dry.

  • you motivate me man god bless

  • glad to do so.

  • great drills man, i do a lot of them myself. do you play with anyone?

  • thanks, read my web site.

  • btw thanks for da drills, i could only do it it with one ball tho, i dont get how u did the drills with 2 balls

  • no prob... keep practicing.

  • can u give me some really good tips on da crossover please

  • watch good crossover artists' vids... iverson, wade, tim hardaway, et.

  • only if i could half as good as you are, i would be owning my friends and shit !

  • keep working!

  • Nice vid.Keep working!

  • thanks!!

  • Wow great video, i've been playing since i was 11, quite when i was 16, i'm 17 now and your video has totally inspired me to start practising again!

  • thanks! glad you checked it out

  • keep practicing one day ur going to be as good as me

  • i can only hope so.

  • Is your left hand 100% as good as your right? Because you lost it a few times but your handles are still nice though

  • in practice, losing the ball is expected; thats how you know you are teaching yourself a new skill or a new level of performance. thanks

  • Man your videos rock!!!

  • thanks a lot!!

  • yo dre i got a question im a freshman in high school and we got this thing every saturday where any1 from the school could come to the gym and play ball. the coach be watchin us i got really nervous is there anyway i cud get rid of this? and btw im really good i cud drive,, shoot and i play lockdown d im like kobr

  • keep practicing; as your game improves you will be more confident. also play in as many games a syou can in different settings; you will become more comfortable.

  • Ay how long do u practice a day???

how many times a day do u practice???

  • as long and as many times as it takes.

  • very good!

  • thanks!!

  • How long does it take to improve our speed dribble

  • depends on how hard you work.

  • Thx for your advice!!

  • no prob... thanks for watching!!

  • Hi dreupt. I'm your korean fan!

I'm very impressed about your dribbling skills~

Recently, I'm practicing my dribbling skills and have heard that dribble with tennis ball insted of basketball is good for upgrade dribble skills in basketball.... is that true??

I hope you go to the nba and make your dreams come true!!

  • thanks... are you the only one?? using a tennis ball can help because it requires more focus with the ball being smaller. you can still develop a great handle, however, without using extra props.

  • ay dre im freshman and im tryin 2 make the varsity i can shoot but and i can dribble but i would like 2 dribble better. if u practice wit the heavy ball in like a pick-up game do u think that would work?

oh ya how long does it take for the heavy ball 2 start working

  • the heavy ball is for practicing, not playing pickup games with. it "works" as soon as you do.

  • thanx man hope u go to da nba

  • thanks!

  • hey dre am 14 nd am tryin to make da cut for da jv team next year as a freshmen am good at everything but wat am not good at is wen it come to drive it in/can u give me an advice or a tip or something dat will help me drive it in better? nd also r u in da nba or somethin cuz an dats nice wat u do there man

  • practice more on driving against an opponent. watch video of good players doing it- you can find plenty vids on this site.

  • People say my driving is too direct and one dimension like if I go one way it is one way and my tendency is always to drive in the middle and people say that causes me to get blocked more and stop alot more. Like because I can't dunk I always do a dribble and then take two huges steps and go in.

    What can i do dre.

  • work on doing things other than what you are already capable of.

  • Uhh I can dribble not as good as u but good my left hand is bum I work on it alot but its still bum mi shots r bum so u think i should give up?

  • you tell me.

  • Is your thumb supposed to touch the ball while dribbling? I know your palm isn't suppose to touch it, but what about your thumb?

  • try dribbling without your thumb, then let me know.

  • lol well, i tried both and i had more control over the ball when dribbling with my thumbs touching, but im unsure if the thumbs should it because ive watched some of yours and other peoples videos and usually theyre thumbs arent touching the ball.

  • what is the disadvantage of using your thumb?

  • i dont know....

i dont think there is any

  • exactly.

  • yea this is now my new work out lol

but seriously these are some really good things to do everyday to improve your ball handling skills. thanks for uploading this!
