Reporters just sit and let Repubs claim that the surge was a foreign policy rather than a military strategy. It's even more amazing that after lying us into an unnecessary war and bungling it every way possible for almost six years, the Repubs have the audacity to gloat over finally getting one tactic right, and go on to claim vindication for the entire war and their warmongering policies because the surge helped mitigate the horrendous cost of this pointless war.
Gee, Wolf Blitzer lets him get away with the lie. EVERY reporter has let them get away with the lie. And yet Republicans will say we have a "liberal" media.
I'll have to disagree with you. Wolf Blitzer asked Blunt three times to directly state the reason why Nancy Pelosi's argument is faulted, each time he gave a non-answer and/or tried to change the subject. Even after that, Blitzer stated that drilling with the leases that the oil companies already has would bring relief sooner, yet Blunt had no meaningful reply to that either. How much further should Blitzer have to push Blunt?
Because Blunt repeated a lie that the GOP has been parroting for two weeks and no one in the media, including Wolf, has called them on it. It's no mystery what the GOP talking points are going to be at this point. And yet they have been able to lie about Chinese drilling off the coast and now spills and they never get called on it. So the Republicans keep flat out lying and reporters keep overlooking their lies. Don't you think that is doing a disservice to the American people?
Bush's recent rhetoric is puzzling - when did his administration ever care about the sovereignty of any ME country aside from Israel. In Iraq, he's already let some of his Texas oil buddies sign agreements with the Kurds, undermining the authority of the Maliki government that we're supposedly helping to build. If Obama wins the election, it's going to take a superfund type effort to get the oil slick out of the Big White Oil House.

I wonder how Californians feel about the snide Republicans making fun of them like this guy is.

We aren't bothered:)
However, I am bothered that he referred to the Speaker by her first name. Very disrespectful.

Lol, right on. Yeah guess that wasn't very polite.

renewable energy sources bad. non renewable potentially environmentally disastrous oil reserves good!

if you cant find oil there, then give it up and let us use it for solar or wind farms. Wow that would be a good idea.

don't reporters do research anymore? It does not take much to argue any of this guy's talking points.
