well in the manga they got killed by hao in a very horrible way, and thats because the X laws spirits aren't real angels but vehicles for example Lucifer is really a Lamborghini and Michael a Ferrari this is explained in the manga for that reason this angels look like machines, and the Maiden isn't holy but a girl that Marco and Luchist educate to be a supossed goddes.
