Why are yellow lasers rare? Isn't it just a matter of getting a yellow diode?

@aliendragon17 No way... Yellow laser diode LOL... They are rare/expensive because they are very hard and expensive to make. They use a very complicated crystal set. I think they have a very powerful pump laser diode, then some crystals turning that wavelenght to 1064nm and 1319nm, and there's an another crystal that turns these 2 combined wavelenght to 589nm... and IR filter to filter out the other wavelenghts.... I don't remember it very well, so there can be mistakes... Hope this helps....

@aliendragon17 they just arent made as much coz they dont really have any applications like a red or ir diode or a bluray can be used in a dvd/bluray player, green lasers are used as laser shows and if yellow is needed u can use red and green to make yellow:)

Is that possible? Is it not, the light, bounced back? does not the light of the laser beam reflect on the water particle of the fog?
