It is by Emmanuel Fremet, cast in 1874, this is a later cast from the same mold, and there is yet another cast in Philadelphia. The original is on the Rue de Pyramides in Paris. Fremet also made a huge sculpture of a gorilla carrying off a nude woman, that was probably the inspiration for the film King Kong. By the way, some Portlanders, unaware of the significance of this sculpture, irreverently call it "The Golden Hind" (a ref. to the ship of Sir Francis Drake). And, blessings on Jeanne!

I visited the house where Joan of Arc was born and where she lived her childhood...a sacred area...she was great...! i live only about 100 km far from her house...It's a privilege...!

I have to admit, I couldn't help but smile when the lady was saying how on Halloween the put a pumpkin on her head or how the dress her up in a Santa suit for Christmas. XD
