This kind of play is why the big ice surface is so much better, skilled guys have room to move, too bad we hardly ever see this on tiny nhl rinks.

The problem with big ice surfaces is that there is more room to keep guys to the outside, away from the net, and off the score sheet.

I dont buy that at all. If you gave NHL players more room to move you would see more goals, better positional play and less penalties. Do you think boring teams like the Devils would be able to sit back and trap if forwards had room to skate through their blue line?

...ehhh, that's what i thought...but i've watched olympic games and european league games, and it doesn't really make the gameplay any better...there's just a lot more ice to cover to get from one end to the other, which to me, makes it actually look slow...watching 4-on-4 NHL hockey i think is the best...all the big ice surface does is eliminate the chance for quick rushes from one end of the ice to the other.

thank you bryan Murray for him and Karlsson, I can't wait to see these two in sens uniforms. But it will be a couple of years before they play there. Hopefully they can add some good muscle mass by then. there are barely 170 lbs need to get 20 lbs of muscle to withstand the rigours of nhl.
