What do you use to blend pencil markings or colors? My cousin said paper works but i just want more than One opinion.

@skilletFAN147 What I do is I slightly get my index finger damp (with water or saliva, whatever you prefer) and make sure it isn't dripping wet! And ill lightly blend it with my hand and I comes out great for me. Or you could use bread, I heard.

nice try, but try drawing WITHOUT smudging. its a lot harder to master, but the drawing comes out way better when you dont smudge. Just use variations of pressure on the pencil to get different values.

i'm an artist and recently i've been trying to branch out into realism. everytime i try to draw realistic face though, it turns out cartoonish. i'm a pop/modern artist and it's quite hard for me to try and get realistic figures. do you have any hints for trying to create more realistic lines and shading?

GOOD QUESTION! Long answer short: If ur drawing is turning too cartoony, it's prob cuz ur doing dark outlines around everything. Try to really see what's light and what's dark and try not to make dark outlines around your subject. Does this help or are you lookng for something else in specific?

i thought it might have been my shading, you're probably correct.

i think i just really need to work on seeing what's there. i don't think my drawings don't lack detail perse, just subtly.

lol i love the kneadable erasers we have to get one each year for art class and i always leave mine square so i can point the edge and get a finer eraser but this year my friend ruined it by kneading it and stuff into a giant blob then to fix it he put a hard cover sketch pad on it and sat on it lol fail
