Great song (I've got it on a compilation called 'Backcombing' devoted to forgotten girl groups, and it's easily one of the 3 or 4 best tracks there.). 'I want you' is a real missing link between The Beatles and Girl Group/Spectorish stuff, although there's a little 'surf' in the mix too. Let's face it: this is a fascinating record! If your mum or dad sung or played on this, you can be v. proud of them. (Fun vid. too.)

Piet Mondrian, of the De Stijl art group, was a "Punk" of painting with his severe geometry and flat colors. Yves Saint Laurent used the patterns for radical dresses in the '60's.

The White Stripes use the Black-White-Red and the geometry of the De Stijl art group, and named an album after it.

My dad was the drummer in Jeannie and the Big Guys and I think he rocks!! They appeared on TV a couple of times (6-5 special or something like that) and even supported The Beatles once!

I love the sixties. I've always wanted to be a mod-girl even when I was just a little thing in the early early 80's. I used to see the Supremes and clips from the 60's and just wanted to be like them. I still haven't grown out of that
