Thanks for introducing me to this song, love it, such a great sound. I was also wondering where you find all the images? Trawling the web or is there an art book you've got with them all from or something like that?
Great song (I've got it on a compilation called 'Backcombing' devoted to forgotten girl groups, and it's easily one of the 3 or 4 best tracks there.). 'I want you' is a real missing link between The Beatles and Girl Group/Spectorish stuff, although there's a little 'surf' in the mix too. Let's face it: this is a fascinating record! If your mum or dad sung or played on this, you can be v. proud of them. (Fun vid. too.)
A very Beatles-esque sound, just the thing for that swingin' year of '64.
There was an undeniable excitement to that time. It felt like everything was getting modern and new and different, and better.
To see two gals who embody this entire look (and attitude), watch "Blow-Up" for the scene where photographer David Hemming takes the two mod birds back to his studio under the guise of wanting to photograph them. No photos end up being taken...
Piet Mondrian, of the De Stijl art group, was a "Punk" of painting with his severe geometry and flat colors. Yves Saint Laurent used the patterns for radical dresses in the '60's.
The White Stripes use the Black-White-Red and the geometry of the De Stijl art group, and named an album after it.

@Clazza2008 hello My dad was lead guitarist. YOur dad has so many memories and showed me albums 25 years ago whn teaching me to drive, would love to copy them as my dad passed away in 03.
I love the sixties. I've always wanted to be a mod-girl even when I was just a little thing in the early early 80's. I used to see the Supremes and clips from the 60's and just wanted to be like them. I still haven't grown out of that
She loved it but it upset her a bit cause unfortunately she passed away a few years back now. But thanks alot anyway! Do you know where I can find some fugitives records or videos like this as she was in those to.
There had to be a picture of the lovely Diana Rigg somewhere in here. There she is at 1:52 .
