I am having similar symptoms. Quick question though. Did you try quick-fix osmotic laxatives like magnesium citrate? If so, were you able to pass liquid, or was that obstructed too? I am able to pass liquids just fine, but I'm having a really bad abdominal pain + tenderness in the upper abdomen just above stomach, when I eat + several hours later.
Before your first surgery were you able to move and walk around, or were you in so much discomfort you didn't want to move?
Your doctor was an ass. Excuse my language. But he was very rude. You shouldn't of been told it was your fault for not getting it checked out. The same symptoms can be of many different diagnosis and its not your job to figure out what's wrong with you. But I hope your feeling better and im sorry you had to go through that.
I had bowel obstruction a few years ago. It was the worst pain that I have ever felt in my entire life. I wanted to die because it hurt so much. I got it due from a previous surgery. Good thing I didn't need surgery for IBS. I've had my spleen removed, kidney transplant, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, arthritis, dialysis and the pain cannot be compared with the pain of having bowel obstruction.
I had done this surgery 9 times (laparatomy). Thanks god, I'm still alive. But now, i still under treatment by specialist of pain management for chronic pain. I have to take 6 pills of painkiller (morphine) in 3 times a day. The severe pain is so terrible. You cannot imagine how pain it was. My doctor said that i might undergo this same surgery in the future.

sorry it's taking me so long to respond, i don't have access to my old channel anymore so i had to make a new one... my surgeon is Dr. Felix ( wish he wasn't) and i currently reside in Gilroy! :)
Hey, where are you located? I'm in Bakersfield which is also two hours from Clovis. =) I have been having some of these symptoms and it's freakin me out.
well I am glad that your feeling better and that rosemary was able to see you while there at the hospital. well you had an active week so take it easy.
Ohhhh!!! I'm so glad your OK. If you want to talk, email me and we can talk over the phone. Does the pain feel like anything like gas pains? Have you had any other problems since surgery? I hope everything will be alright. The jewelry looks awesome on you.
I'm terribly sorry I didn't get to see Rosemary's video yet & for not messaging you soon, I just didn't realize what was happening with you.. Please take care of yourself Darcy & I certainly hope & pray (Knocking on wood) that you never have to go through this ever again.. You're a lucky girl to have gotten to meet Rosemary & Eric, they're such a sweet couple on yt..I never met them in person yet..Maybe someday never know.. Anyways rest well.. & cya soon hugs & love Kimberly
To everyone, I apologize for cursing and calling melitriocancan's doctor an ass. I didn't mean to offend anyone. The man is what he is like it or not. Melitrio you post came at a time when I needed to vent over a similar experience that nearly cost me my life because of a my surgeons greed. Again, I am sorry for cursing. :)
i'm so sorry to hear about your experience. i'm glad you're still here with us. and please don't apologize. i believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, my dad called him that too lol. to each his own i guess. some people just have way to much authority and use that to their advantage, therefore they think they can treat people how ever they please... we just have to take what they say with a grain of salt.
Oh my gosh, glad you are recovering well! That is scary, thank you for sharing! Now I know not to ignore any symptoms that may be something more serious....take care :)
that top is hellllllllllla cute.. i wanna borrow it.....lol.. j/k LOOK AT THAT FREAKIN SKINNY TUMMY!!! Girl! that's awesome you look great! you know i get lots of pains like that and used to wonder about if that was wrong with me.. when i went to the dr. they just changed me over to miralax. LOL. they say Dulcolax is freakin horrible shit.. if you take that don't take it anymore change over to miralax. anyhoo.. i love ya girl! xoxo how's your baby?
well sadly, lol the shirt isn't mine, it'smy mother's ,and i have nothing else to wear hahaha. second, dulcolax is the only thing that works for me to move me along... i've tried everything else and for some reason it doesn't do the trick? my baby is doing fine although i miss him, i haven't been home since the surgery!
yes i agree that dulcolax deffinantly does do the trick.. lol.. Miralax takes like DAYS to work. and they didn't actually check me out at the hospital, well aside from a bit of finger prodding.. lol i know TMI.. haha.. but when i hear this stuff it scares me because of the pains i get, i always think about amelia's probs. and i think virginia had that problem too didnt' she> and now you.. ugggh.. i'm a freakin scaredy cat. LOL...
i know it can be a scary thing, but like i said before, it is the risk we chose to take when we had this surgery. i don't think you would have a problem like that since they didn't cut your insides up like they did to me for ROUX en Y. but i'm not a doctor :P just hope it never happens to you either! but hey thank god for youtube, we can all learn from each other's experiences
Sorry that happened to you but glad you are ok. You must be the 3rd or 4th person I have seen on youtube with this type of thing happen within a year of surgery. Hope you feel better soon.
yah it happens, but that's what we have to prepare ourselves for when we want this surgery, anything can happen, and we knew the risks but hey i'm still alive and still thankful for the surgery... thanks for the well wishes
Great surgeon or not the man is an ass. To many doctors not just so urgeons need to be a patient earlier in their career and sometimes again later to be a scared not knowing what is going on and then maybe they would be more sympathetic and compationate. I know I have been through the gamate of doctors. I am sorry for the rant, I am still recovering from recent "medical" treatment with "so called doctors. Any how your doctor had no right to treat you that way. If necessary find someone else!
i totally agree... i mean i'm grateful for what he did to me, but he basically had me crying for 3 hours straight in the patient room because i felt like i was being punished for asking for help... he was much nicer to me the next day after surgery because my mom gave him an earful! lol
I am so glad you had your mom with you. I don't know what I would have done without mine, when I was hospitalized in June. It pays to always have some one there with you whether it is a doctors appointment or hospitalization and it if possible around the clock. I don't know where these so called professionals graduated from but if were me if they had attitudes like the one you experienced and the ones I had to deal with none of them would have a license to practice. I actually fired my Rny Dr.
Darcy, I just wanted first off thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so open with us... it was like a reminder to listen to my body everyday just incase the were to be a problem, second, I am soooooo glad that you are ok and on your way to healing! I will be thinking about you, get some much deserved rest!!
thanks hon! it's gonna take a few weeks before i'm back to normal, kinda sucks though because now i can't exercise for a while! and i was just gettnig motivated again! poopoo! lol oh well this whole thing has taught me patience lol
Wow Darcy, I cannot believe my ears. What you went through is krazy and insane. You look and sound great just for having a 2nd surgery. I really hope you recover quickly. I was eyeing your jewlery from the beginning of your video, Rosemary is the sweetest. Im sorry you had to go through this chica, again get well soon. Muah!!
Darcy, I'm so sorry you had to go through all that and glad your feeling better now. Thank god you went when you did. That's probably why you have been having so many problems moving things along if you catch my drift. Rosemary is AWESOME, she is such a sweety. I can't wait to meet both of you. P.S. Girly, your looking great. You sure has heck don't look like somone who just had surgery.
haah! i know i did so good after surgery i didn't even need morphine or pain meds! i still don't need it. everyone said i was a tough cookie lol. i always thought this might have been a reason why i'm having so much trouble losing the last of the weight, who knows we'll see.. i'd love to meet you too! rose mary is awesome!
I will con. to have you in my prayers ...your tummy is so tiny girl how wonderful to be young and skinny...LOL...love ya and big big HUGS eric says take care...love rosemary

was surgery ur first option for adhesion related SBO? b/c the surgery usually creates more adhesions causing more SBOs in the future
