But everything I know tells me the opposite. Remember... Government money = YOUR money and MY money. @michaelovesrh If that were true the streets would be littered with dead bodies. I have been very sick this year and my insurance paid for everything without a complaint. My grandfather has had cancer 4 times... insurance paid for most of it so he didn't have to throw his life savings away. The free market is the most pure and fair form of economy. It is sad that people want the government to take care of them from cradle to grave. The greatest nation on earth was not built on those principals.

Thats the problem, before reform 35 million americans didnt have health insurance now after the bill 12 million will still be out of coverage when everyone should. Goverment wont take over your car insurance, your cellphone bill, your mortgage or rent, etc... but health coverages should be accessible to everyone.

@michaelovesrh so 35 million people dont have health INSURANCE... we have 300 million citizens.. i dont think that constitutes a huge government shift towards socialism... it doesn't even constitute that much reform. Health insurance is NOT a right... it is a service invented and provided by privately owned company's. You cannot sacrifice the whole just because some are struggling. We have to try and help EVERYONE, not steal from some and give to others.

They die because they have an accident or are sick... hospitals cannot turn someone away because they aren't insured. This bill is going to bring everyone down.. not just the "rich". @michaelovesrh To my mind probably the single most solid piece of evidence is this: turning 65--i.e., going on Medicare--doesn't reduce your risk of dying. If lack of insurance leads to death, then that should show up as a discontinuity in the mortality rate around the age of 65. It doesn't.

People can afford it but health insurance companies deny someone who has a pre-existing condition.
