@mariguanetor I think exactly the same thing. This two languages make it easier to learn german. And of coarse german is way better than french. French might be the language of love, but german is the language of the Fury and I like that.
PS: The woman in this video speaks as fast as a mentally retarded in comparisson to a native speaker^^ but she speaks a perfect high German(without any dialect)
Hi there, I'm from germany and I want to improve my english, because I need it for my work. If any native english speaker wants to write with me now and then, please don't hesitate and write me a message :)
@MichaelDonnerMusic Hi Michael. I want to impove my German. I can speak a lot of simple German but nothing complicated. I would be glad to help you out with your English if you could help me with my German. By the way I also write and record my own music so thats something we have in common-Steve
@MichaelDonnerMusic im in the same boat as you. i would like to learn german, i know a couple of words but thats it, if you still are wanting somebody to write with i would be more then happy to. can you help me with learning some german?
@bobbollu First of all, it's not necessary to learn German to communicate with the Germans. Barely all of them learned English in school (to learn English is something like a set term in every German school(even the lowest)).
In which region of Germany are you going to be? If you'll travel to bavaria it's kind of senseless to learn high German because their dialect is so strong that you couldn't understand them as "beginner".
@bobbollu I think it could be useful to ask people where something is, if you aren't able to find it yourself(or need too long): Ich suche den/die/das/// einen/eine/ein...*name of what you search(for example a place or a restaurant(the place = der Platz; always masculin in german(if the ending is -platz); restaurant = das restaurant; always neutrum(if the ending is -restaurant)*= I'm searching(/looking for) the(masculin/feminin/neutrum)/// a(maskulin/feminin/neutrum) ...*name...*
@bobbollu PS: "Excuse me" = "Entschuldigung" ; " I'm sorry" = "Tut mir leid" . So you could ask now in German where the next restaurant or a specific restaurant is(but specific only if you know it's name) For example:"Entschuldigung, ich suche ein Restaurant." or if you know the name: for example if the restaurants name is "der goldene Löwe" : "..., ich suche das Restaurant:"der goldene Löwe" " or "...ich suche "den goldenen Löwen". " but I'd prefer the first variant as beginner
@bobbollu according to this you might need to know some terms of direction and movement
right= rechts ; left= links ; straight (on) = gerade(-aus) ; until = bis ; Keep/go straight on = Gehen Sie geradeaus ; turn around=umdrehen
"First move right, then go straight on until you reach the restaurant "goldener Löwe". To the left you see the marketplace."= "Zuerst gehen Sie nach rechts, dann gehen Sie geradeaus bis Sie das Restaurant, "der goldene Löwe" erreichen. Links sehen Sie den Marktplatz."
@bobbollu If you want to purchase(or take) something you can't reach without the help of another person(like ordering a meal in a restaurant) you might use some terms of these:
"I'd like to have/buy the *name of the object*"= "Ich würde gerne der/die/das *object* haben/kaufen"
(tip: you can identify the gender if you look for the ending of the adjective before. for example: "..gebratenER Hirsch"(masculin) = "roasted deer" ; "gebratenE Leber"(fem.)="r. Liver"; "gebratenES Steak"(n.)= "r. Steak"
@IRoXXI i appreciate all the help with my German, we are going in 2013 so fortunately I have some time to learn the basics and what you provided is very helpful. I assume you are German? (or American that knows
German?) As I learn more I know I will have questions so I will be glad to give you a shout in the future.
@vesevio you should be proud, I love German household products, they are the best & so reliable & have great reputation brands. I love German philosopher Nietzsche & Freud. I love German music (both classical & electro & industrial & rock, like the Scorpions, Kraftwerk, Blutengel, Engleblut, KMFDM) and German accents are so sexy.
@WC2010GERMANY I would. For example: Das Bett ist mollig warm. Keep in mind that there are regional or other discrapancies that have an impact on language.
Haha how slowly it is spoken :D in real we speak much faster :D
