@tatteddawg815, you mechanic friends told you wrong. Changing the stroke, changes displacement. To the guy that runs the engine shop, a 383 is the 350 with a 400 crank.

You guys are all dum asses. I personally run my own engine shop. A 355 is a stock stroke 350, with the cylinders bored .030 over size. But, it is still a 350 stroke. A 383 is a 400 with a 350 crank. Or vice versa. With custom pistons.
we have a 1/4 mile track here and there are s10's that run in the low to mid 6's. it's just physics dude, small lite truck with large displacement engines. ie. big motor small vehicle.

Never said GM was smart in their business decisions for getting themselves this way but they've made a ton of great cars and a ton of bad cars. I'd still rather here the roar of a v8 then some ricer car that Johnny Sucknuts decided he was going to put a fart pipe on and be a racer. Oh I'd rather Toyota then Honda anyday, at least their engineering doesn't come at $1000 each extra. Btw, my s10 is still running strong at 316000 kms

Nothing wrong with the Titans or the Tundras I race a titan and have beat a s-10 with a V8 swap... of course not as fast as most of these... but still sub 9's in the 1/8th.

my 1992 S10 Blazer has 327xxx on the odometer, and she's running as strong as ever! i mud bog with it, and she's never let me down.
my 1992 S10 pickup has 270xxx on the odo, and she's been extremely reliable.
i have owned about 5 or 6 S series trucks, and they are awesome!
