2 Peter Chapter 1:vers.4-10 These are the things we need to add to or faith. From Genesis to Revelation God has all ways gave the world two options live Godly are die spiritually.
Which one of you speaks in the tongues in the bible. Each one heard him in his own tongue.far diffferent from the babble you see them speaking today and not able to persuade any non-believer of the power of Christ.Everyone should just take that guys word that his babbling is of the Holy spirit. Also since God owns your place of employment, why would you speak in tongues at church but NEVER at work so your gifts would persuade your co-workers that the spirit is the truth.Somebody gotta go to hell.
And then maybe you can then see that Jews and Gentiles alike must go in love if they want to see the Father and Creator. Its not about who knows what because knowledge means NOTHING if you have not the Holy Spirit. All the knowledge in the world can not predict God's will for your life or anyone else. People like the "scholars" make young ministers like me want to be so much better, thanks for being an example!
After reading some of these comments I'm ashamed that you all have the dignity or the audacity to refer to yourselves as Christians when you can't even show each other the love of Christ that is supposed to be displayed as Christians! It seems to me as if some of you need to go back and understand again why you are who you are (preachers/ministers/pastors) because honestly I wouldn't be under either of your leaderships with this ignorance. Grow in Christ and love!
Hmmm? It's funny how our people don't do their research; once again jim crow has to go to the beast to learn how to obey. keep Yah's laws and commandments? and yet he is decived, Christianity is a false religion! there must be over 150 different religions under this christanity; And black people are fools to keep following this False Christ that the white race continues to push on the children of Isreal. Find one of those religions any where in the scriptrues.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show your thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. If we do this we will not have any thing to worry about.
Until sinful men STOP creating denominations within Christianity, things are going to get worse. But not to worry God is going to put an end to all of this foolishness.
I Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
The Body of Christ is still divided and its getting worse. Paul told the church in
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Great word Pastor Phillips. What a refreshing and obviously truthful statement to us that Gods blood washed away color and seperation of Gods children, and how His Spirit, according to His sovereignty, will use whom He pleases, to bring about the spreading of His Grace and Mercy to mankind.
Parham,Durham,Branham, and Frank bartleman never joined a organization, all singing and preaching was spontanious by the Holyspirit, nothing like today. They all that organised after Azusa are now Void of the holyspirit baptisim.and nothing but man leading man.And alot of loud music which is not promoted from the Holyspirit.A man made church is what they all have.
And to the rest of you keep this in mind, Jesus, was not a part of the religious aristocracy of his day. He actually instructed his disciples, prior to leaving the earth, to go go Jerusalem and wait..., instead of returning to the Temple, Synagogues, Priests, Levites and Rabbis. He was also called Baal-zebub!
You misinterpret the verse which says "touch not mine anointed". If someone is going down the wrong road, exhibiting a sinful nature, we're supposed to rebuke them so that they may repent and be restored.
I was raised Catholic/Methodist so the person who made that comment doesn't even know me. Assumptions are not only dangerous but foolish.
Of course Jesus didn't send them to a synagogue, because the priesthood generally didn't believe! Not all order is of the devil though. 5-fold.
Many of you will be as frightened by what I am saying about the Canon, as the Jews were Jesus tried to nudge them away from their traditions and sacred books. Folks, we have been stuck in the Canon for long enough - Paul was even incorrect about the rapture. Wake up folks!!
To Brother Murray and your audience, please consider this as an example of what I wrote before to BM. One writer wrote that the love of money is the root of all evil. The writer was categorically wrong. God would not agree with what this writer wrote. Agree or disagree?
What we have here is another group, presumably, of AfroAmerican ministers, teachers and preachers who have accepted Constantine's Canon as being absolute in nature.
It is interesting listening to one group of people fighting over the relevancy and accuracy of someone elses story.
God is here to today, why not simply ask God does he have to say to humans in a 21st Century context?
if paul did not find his epistles to be worthy of doctrine, then he would not have sent them, that is if he cared for the soul of the church. paul was not one for vain babbling.
a 21st century context? jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. spiritual compromise is poison to our souls.
there is a way that seems right unto man but the ways thereof are death. do you not see that our own understanding leads us to fornication, theft, and murder? Why? Because relativism justifies evil.
Here, you are simply rehearsing what you have been taught from the Canon, and from your religious group. It is time for the church and ministers to place the Canon within its proper historical context and to moveon. Just as the Jews were and are still stuck in the Law, most Christians are still stuck in their own version of the Law.
Constantine also authorized the book of Acts which espouses several doctrines his church considered to be demonic. Actually, every single book of the Bible doctrinally differs from Catholicism. YET you still continue to say that this was a Catholic manipulation when in fact the books that were canonized in no way espouse any doctrine that Constantine would approve.
I never mentioned Cahtolic manipulation..., This thing runs deeper than the Catholic manipulation that you referred to ... You were shaped in the manner that most of us were were, having been led to believe that the Canon is the inerrant word of God, and that simply is not true. God has been waiting to free his people for a long time now from bondage, and your contributing to their subjugation. Truth makes one free!
It is ever apparent that you ahbor authority and would rather determine your own doctrine. You are intent on going your own way according to your own understanding.
You lean unto your understanding as if it were divine. The way of the flesh is not the way of the Spirit. Repent.
How were you are not afraid to attack the Lord's annointed. I will try this again brother Murray, get up to speed.

So-called Rev. Solomon, if what you are saying does not help me in my salvific walk in Christ regarding the canon of Holy Writ, then it is to no benefit. I would leave that rhetoric within the Seminary and Divinity School's confines. You will lose people who will have no interest in what you are saying (and some of those gnostic books (Secret Gospel of Mark!) are best left out of the canon of Scripture. And please spell 'anointed' correcly (see above). You embarrass me as a fellow scholar!
BM, Your acerbic comments have been duly noted, It sounds as if you have a lot to learn - Peter eventually grew in grace himself, and wrote to others to do the same. Acts 2:38: Repent, be baptized everyone of you in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST for the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:12: But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, AND THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, they were baptized, both men and women.
Acts 4:12: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
1Cr 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
John 3:5, Luke 7:30, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:12 and 16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:3-5 (re-baptism of those not baptized in Jesus name), Acts 22:16 Hebrews 6:1-3, Romans 6:3-4, 1 Peter 3:21.
Romans 10:16: But they have not all OBEYED the Gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath BELIEVED our report?
John 3:5: You must be born of the water and of the Spirit to enter into the Kingdom of God.
Its not regeneration, its about obedience. If you don't obey, I question your belief. Apeitheo.
why did paul say christ didnt send him to baptize but to preach the gospel? careful examination of those verses & you will see that there was no name pronounced over the people that Paul baptized-read it -he thanked God he hadnt baptized only a few unless some thought he baptized in his own name-they didnt call names or titles over people in baptism-it was done by Jesus authority-they confessed jesus & were baptised. just like john's baptism-they confessed and were baptized.
My dear brother- baptism is not the gospel-it is for believers only. Your sins have 2 b forgiven before you are baptized. The blood of Jesus is the only thing that washes sins -not baptism. It is a principle doctrine -for saved folk.
How else did the people recieve the Holy Ghost before they were baptized in the book of acts.baptism represents death-dying-how does it now mean birth. that is not what jesus was saying. N.T. baptism has nothing to do with pronouncing a name over baptism candidates
Dear bro-last census poll taken there are 600 million tongue talking believers in Jesus on this planet maybe 3or 4million are Jesus only if that many
"for the remmission of sins"--look up the word "for" it doesnt mean "to get" or "to have" it means "because of " because of the remission of sins--God was in christ reconciling the whole world unto himself.
"in the name of" is power of attorney not a formula-the word is nigh thee even in thy mouth. its what the baptizee says not the baptizer-
The same phrase used in Acts 2:38 is used in Matthew 26:28. I think the word is EIS and it is used BOTH times. EVERY SINGLE major translation translates it the same way because of this FACT.
3 or 4 million? In the AWCF alone, there are at least 5.2. And your theory on name meaning authority is not backed by historical accounts.
Do you know just how many people Paul baptized? Many. In the passage of which you speak, Paul was disgusted because people who had been baptized were living in sin.
Well it seems bro Murray you are unmovable.i see your points.i dont agree. I was once Jesus only,i grew up in it.
I left because of the limited teaching on everything else other than the Godhead and the salvation. 17.2 million members? i seriously doubt that. We could argue all day. but i wont. it amazes me how the UPC claims so much truth & yet they are one of the most racist churches. This is widely known fact.blacks werent allowed at first & today they are tolerated at best.God bless you.bye
See, this is why we have denominations. "I see your points but I don't agree". Its not about our opinions, not even mine. Its about the Word. People are fine with their traditions whether they or Biblical or not, Pentecostal churches included but there is often so little regard for the Word. If people let the Word be their doctrinal statements then there would not be an issue.
Again I would like to make this abundantly clear: The language used in Matthew 26:28 and Acts 2:38 is identical. Christ did not say that he shed his blood because our sins were forgiven. The same words in the same context have the same meaning and should not be twisted.
And by the way, the number is closer to 17 million, citing some heresy hunter web sites. And on that topic, are you claiming that a movement is right based on NUMBERS? based on being the majority? Thats not wise.
Well again my dear bro.i disagree because i wont argue over scripture.-Jesus spoke Aramaic as did all the people in his area did. It was translated into Greek and then to KJV english-which we dont speak today. The bible must be studied & understood in light of its original language, colloquialisms, idioms & customs of its times.
quoting scripture means nothing if you dont understand its meaning.Acts 2:38 isnt more valid than Rom10:8-10-All scriptures must line up in agreement.
Yes, all scripture must agree. Even Romans 10:8-10, Matthew 8:29 (where devils do confess Jesus Christ to be the Son of God), and James 2:19 must agree.
And I do agree that we must consider culture as well as historical accounts.
Brother Murray, there are things written within Constantine's Canon that God would not agree with. I feel your sincereity with regard to what you are attempting to do, however, you are not up to speed. I suggest that you engage in an indepth study of the Canon, its origin, its sources...!
Continue your research, they're various sources which speak to the 'racial' account. Again, in the heart of the "Jim Crow" south, not very many people would be as confound with this realit as you seem to be.
I've also read an alternate account about Seymore at the Dallas Bible school Parham taught at. Parham's niece or daughter-in-law, I think, said she had always heard that Seymore was in the classroom with everyone else. Parham was sometimes criticised for disregarding segregationist cultural practices in the south. He invited a black woman preacher address a group of southern whites to tell about Azusa Street and other things that were socially unacceptable at that time.
Didn't the AOG people leave as much over doctrinal issues (finish work of Christ as opposed to the idea of sanctification as a one time work) and church government issues? I've heard COGIC folks give race as the reason, but there were some doctrinal differences.
Well, they apologized to the COGIC church for leaving because they'd scummed to the political and societal pressures of that day. There were also doctrinal differences regarding the "indwelling" of the Holy Spirit, but make no mistake about it, they left for due to the racial pressures.
Who is 'they' that apologized? The whole AOG? This interpretation of history sounds a bit like 'spin' to me. The AOG preachers did not believe in sanctification as a one-time work of grace before baptism with the Holy Ghost, and did not go for an Episcopal form of government. So it wasn'tall about race.
Re-read my comment again. It WAS primarily about race, but it also dealt with the doctrinal issues noted in my post. (THEY) referred to leaders of the AOG who apologized to Bishop Ford. Sorry that it doesn't meet your standards, but it's what happened. It's not a revisionist or 'spin' as you suggest. They sincerely felt the need to apologize for not helping their brothers and sisters in Christ at such a trying time in our country's history. It was commendable!
Was this a modern apology? I've heard different views on this. One article emphasized the difference in doctrine. COGIC believes/d in sanctification as a separate work of grace. AOG preachers tended to agree with William Durham's teaching, because the Bible does not teach sanctification as a one time event subsequent to salvation. Is it fair to characterize the decision of all these preachers as motivated by race? Do you have historical documentation?
It sounds like you don't have any documentation to dispute the conclusions of this video. I don't know what your problem is, every country on the face of the planet was aware of this nation's racial intolerance, during that time period, as well as this one. It's woven into the the American culture, that's just how it is.
I wanted to know your evidence that (unilaterally) AOG people left over racial issues. I'm aware of racism in the early 20th century, but I'm also aware of Pentecostalism being birthed in racial reconciliation.
Yes, there is documented historical evidence available through the U.S. Library of Congress. What's amazing is that you (NEED) evidence of racism in any American institution, particularly one established in the deep south during the early 1900s. The fact that members of AOG found it necessary to apologized for it, is also evidence enough of the existence. Because you're not up on these events doesn't mean they didn't exist. Do more research to find answers to your questions.
Citing sources would be helpful. It just seems far fetched to me that a group of 300+? preachers who disagreed over sanctification and church government structure only left because of racism when they'd been in a predominantly black denomination already. If some AOG people left for racist reasons, that would be reason enough to apologize. I object to the broad brush strokes.
At 1:23, Parham's daughter-in-law said the account she heard was the Seymore sat in the class with the rest of the students, not out the door in the hallway. Parham often disobeyed Jim Crow laws and had integrated meetings, inviting blacks to speak to southern whites, from what I've read. Also, wasn't Seymore invited to assistant pastor church, and then locked out b/c of initial evidence doctrine, and then started a new meeting on Bonnie Bray?
They forgot to add Dr. Mattie Moss Clark and the Clark Sisters, this famliy shaped COGIC music in a very big way. Also Twinkie Clark had alot to do with the way musicians play today.
Hello I have many of the original Apostolic Faith Mags put out by Bro Seymour and plan on making copies (copyright is expired, I called to confirm)if you would like some let me know el_shadaiAThotmailDOTcom

Hebrews 6:1-3 describes the PRINCIPLES, the BASICS of the doctrine of CHRIST. And it includes? Baptisms, the water and spiritual baptism.
Furthermore Christ himself said that you must be born of the water and of the Spirit to even enter into the Kingdom of God.
The Jews who were baptized by John were said to have justified God, obeying his full counsel. Peter also commanded the Gentiles to be baptized.

Revmostrite 2 years ago
My dear brother- baptism is not the gospel-it is for believers only. Your sins have 2 b forgiven before you are baptized. The blood of Jesus is the only thing that washes sins -not baptism. It is a principle doctrine -for saved folk.
How else did the people recieve the Holy Ghost before they were baptized in the book of acts.baptism represents death-dying-how does it now mean birth. that is not what jesus was saying. N.T. baptism has nothing to do with pronouncing a name over baptism candidates
Revmostrite 2 years ago
Matthew 26:28: For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS.
Acts 2:38: ..be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS
"For the remission of sins" means "for the remission of sins".
1 John 5:8: For there are three that bear witness on the earth, the Spirit, the water, and the blood.
Belief and obedience are equivalent. Christ said to preach baptism in his name, not his titles.
BrotherMurray 2 years ago
Dear bro-last census poll taken there are 600 million tongue talking believers in Jesus on this planet maybe 3or 4million are Jesus only if that many
"for the remmission of sins"--look up the word "for" it doesnt mean "to get" or "to have" it means "because of " because of the remission of sins--God was in christ reconciling the whole world unto himself.
"in the name of" is power of attorney not a formula-the word is nigh thee even in thy mouth. its what the baptizee says not the baptizer-
Revmostrite 2 years ago

Revmostrite 2 years ago
See, this is why we have denominations. "I see your points but I don't agree". Its not about our opinions, not even mine. Its about the Word. People are fine with their traditions whether they or Biblical or not, Pentecostal churches included but there is often so little regard for the Word. If people let the Word be their doctrinal statements then there would not be an issue.
BrotherMurray 2 years ago
Again I would like to make this abundantly clear: The language used in Matthew 26:28 and Acts 2:38 is identical. Christ did not say that he shed his blood because our sins were forgiven. The same words in the same context have the same meaning and should not be twisted.
And by the way, the number is closer to 17 million, citing some heresy hunter web sites. And on that topic, are you claiming that a movement is right based on NUMBERS? based on being the majority? Thats not wise.
BrotherMurray 2 years ago
Well again my dear bro.i disagree because i wont argue over scripture.-Jesus spoke Aramaic as did all the people in his area did. It was translated into Greek and then to KJV english-which we dont speak today. The bible must be studied & understood in light of its original language, colloquialisms, idioms & customs of its times.
quoting scripture means nothing if you dont understand its meaning.Acts 2:38 isnt more valid than Rom10:8-10-All scriptures must line up in agreement.
we cant pick
Revmostrite 2 years ago
Yes, all scripture must agree. Even Romans 10:8-10, Matthew 8:29 (where devils do confess Jesus Christ to be the Son of God), and James 2:19 must agree.
And I do agree that we must consider culture as well as historical accounts.
BrotherMurray 2 years ago
Paul was not writing scriptures, he was sending letters.
revcsolomon 2 years ago
Revcsolomon, for paul's epistles to be inspired, they must be in agreement. God is not the author of confusion.
BrotherMurray 2 years ago
Brother Murray, get up to speed, Paul would be stunned to learn, posthumously, that anyone confused his epistles with scriptures.
However, I will excuse you regarding this matter for I suspect that you are simply teaching what you have been taught.
revcsolomon 2 years ago

SaudaraLink 3 years ago
Well, they apologized to the COGIC church for leaving because they'd scummed to the political and societal pressures of that day. There were also doctrinal differences regarding the "indwelling" of the Holy Spirit, but make no mistake about it, they left for due to the racial pressures.
mdmr2005 3 years ago
Who is 'they' that apologized? The whole AOG? This interpretation of history sounds a bit like 'spin' to me. The AOG preachers did not believe in sanctification as a one-time work of grace before baptism with the Holy Ghost, and did not go for an Episcopal form of government. So it wasn'tall about race.
SaudaraLink 3 years ago
Re-read my comment again. It WAS primarily about race, but it also dealt with the doctrinal issues noted in my post. (THEY) referred to leaders of the AOG who apologized to Bishop Ford. Sorry that it doesn't meet your standards, but it's what happened. It's not a revisionist or 'spin' as you suggest. They sincerely felt the need to apologize for not helping their brothers and sisters in Christ at such a trying time in our country's history. It was commendable!
mdmr2005 3 years ago
Was this a modern apology? I've heard different views on this. One article emphasized the difference in doctrine. COGIC believes/d in sanctification as a separate work of grace. AOG preachers tended to agree with William Durham's teaching, because the Bible does not teach sanctification as a one time event subsequent to salvation. Is it fair to characterize the decision of all these preachers as motivated by race? Do you have historical documentation?
SaudaraLink 3 years ago
It sounds like you don't have any documentation to dispute the conclusions of this video. I don't know what your problem is, every country on the face of the planet was aware of this nation's racial intolerance, during that time period, as well as this one. It's woven into the the American culture, that's just how it is.
mdmr2005 3 years ago
I wanted to know your evidence that (unilaterally) AOG people left over racial issues. I'm aware of racism in the early 20th century, but I'm also aware of Pentecostalism being birthed in racial reconciliation.
SaudaraLink 3 years ago
Yes, there is documented historical evidence available through the U.S. Library of Congress. What's amazing is that you (NEED) evidence of racism in any American institution, particularly one established in the deep south during the early 1900s. The fact that members of AOG found it necessary to apologized for it, is also evidence enough of the existence. Because you're not up on these events doesn't mean they didn't exist. Do more research to find answers to your questions.
mdmr2005 3 years ago
