  • I recently started a new church position, where we have the same Allen model as you are playing here. Is there a trick to setting the combination pistons on this thing, or are they factory set and unchangeable? The presets on the 70 year old Wangerin pipe organ at my last parish were easier to figure out than on the Allen!

  • @tmsenzig sorry about my lack of keeping up on youtube! the presets on this didn't work, but to my knowledge they are supposed to work like this: select your memory level (A/B), hold the desired piston in, select stops, release piston.

  • If you find that you need to play this piece often, there's an organ solo arrangement. I'm not sure if it is still in print singly, but you can find it in "The Complete Lord's Prayer For Every Busy Accompanist." It also has every key for vocalists, both with piano and organ accompaniment.

You might also want to consider cutting your fingernails very short so that you can play with a more rounded hand, and really dig into those keys so that you can play with a confident attack and release.

  • @OrganistAnthony My fingers are short MOST of the time :) and I strive to keep a rounded hand, especially on trackers. These keys are very mushy, which could have also been a factor.
