Nice interview, seems he still finds it hard to talk about Freddie even now :( and for the record, I would have gone to see Queen + any f**king body that Brian & Roger care to bring on tour with them just for the chance to see and hear them live. Going under any name other than Queen would have been dumb & pointless! But that's just me :)

Queen without Freddie and John is not "Queen" for me anymore , nevertheless how good Paul is as a singer - Freddie is irreplacable nad unique he was. I went to the gig of them in 2005 and during the gig I couldn't stop thinking of Freddie and how it would be to see him again since 1986 when I had the honor to see him in concert...But that is my POV dunno what other true fans think...

I'm sorry but there's something so wrong about Paul Rogers singing Queen songs. He simply does not have the vocal range or stage presence. Sounds like terrible car wreck between Queen and Free. He's got that whole macho Bad Company persona and sound which doesn't suit Queen's material. The leather pants, shoddy hair piece and hairy chest are over the top for a geezer like Paul. I wish them the best of luck with their own material, though....

To go out under a different name wouldn't have been "dumb", it would of been decent. Queen without Mercury is like Wings without Paul McCartney. Freddie was the essence of Queen.

Based on what Freddie says, we can maybe say that although it seems like Freddie does all the work or is the main person or whatever you want to say, he isn't. Brian, Roger, John and Freddie each do 25% of the work/contribution but yes it is true that Freddie is the most flamboyant on stage and a great entertainer and frontman.

Freddie Mercury has said before that all of them do like 25% of the work.

There is an interview where the lady doesn't understand and keeps asking him if he is the main person of Queen (I think). He tries to explain but she keeps asking so eventually he says yes. You can tell he doesn't mean it but just says it.

i must admit i was totally suprised-i went seeing queen with paul rodgers live thinking i wouldnt be that into it. i knew they werent going to play my favorite songs (from the early albums) but wow. as soon as they started playing it was incredible! it was good to hear it all turned up! ive heard paul rodgers at the expo '92 with brian may and that was pretty good aswell.

NO QUEEN WITHOUT FREDDIE! Brian and Roger are still very good, but they should change the name of the band if they want to go on with making music. No-one can replace incomparable man of genius called Freddie Mercury. Paul Rogers shouldn't sing the songs sung by Freddie and walk with the microphone like Freddie did. It's just ridiculous for someone who says that he doesn't want to copy Freddie. Let him sing his own songs instead of running off with Freddie's legacy.

You do know that Brian came first then he found Roger then Fredie followed them around until they decided to add him. Then they found John. It surely wouldn't be that popular without Freddie just because Freddie was the one who could make this band legendary. Brian, Roger and John were certainly very good, but there is a big difference between being very good and being legendary. John didn't want to go on with Queen although I don't know whether it was because Freddie wasn't there anymore. I would believe it was the reason, but I am not sure.

Wouldn't it be ridiculous if the Beatles would go on with the same name without John and George? You just can't be the same band with the same name. That's what I mean. Any idea why John Deacon didn't want to go on with "Queen"? I find Paul Rogers an offend for the band, and I am not the only one. But you don't have to agree with me. Freddie was the soul of the group. I am glad that Brian and Roger enjoy going on with making music and are satisfied with Paul Rogers, but for me it's not the old "Queen" anymore. Just call it "QueenII" or whatever.

I saw the Queen/Paul Rogers tour last year in Washington, DC. It was absolutly fabulous. IT WAS FABULOUS!!! the sound was sharp. the playing was great and Paul- show me another big name that old that can still sing as crisp and powerfuly as him?? show me. there is none. He was awe-inspiring truly. In interviews he sounds like the nicest guy you could me and he is appreciative of what he has and of life.

I saw the Queen/Paul Rogers tour. And Paul Rogers did not to channel Freddie. He did an amazing job with the songs and I completely enjoyed it. Freddie would be pleased to know that their music was still being enjoyed live.

And Brian is better than ever.

John walking away has nothing 2 do with any of this. John chose 2 av nothing 2 do with Queen + PR.....coz he is retired, John retired from the music biz, soon after Freddie passed away, the last thing John ever did with Queen, was in 1997 (Rememeber, No-one But You (Only The Good Die Young). John no longer wants 2 b assosiated with the music biz, he prefers 2 b at home with his wife and childen and family.
