@duomagicfull : at first, it seems that the woman fits exactly at the box. it is actually deeper on the side a bit which allows her to do sideview. the black side is made of latex (i think) which is stretchable and can't be seen. even though the woman's torso will lean to either side, you won't see it.
I love this performance :) I miss watching this. I remember when this special first aired on NBC. I have all 5 specials on VHS. I remember people were thinking she was the masked magician for a while. I love this song.

not sure how it was done but i'm thinking that the "box" is wide enough for the girl to do sideview. it appears small but there's more room
