  • This is awesome! But too expensive for me :(

  • @pioneerdjsounds: i bought 2x cdj 2000 last week. i connected them with my serato scratch live 3 and my mixer as exactly as in this video.i can control my serato from my cdjs and play the music but cant see the WAVEFORM in the CDJS SCREENS!!!!!

SL3 is version 2..2.0 and the CDJS are 3.2.0.

Can you plz tell me how can i get the WAVEFORM in my CDJ SCREENS while playing music from the SERATO SL3? THANKS!

  • LOVE Pioneers, they utilize EVERYTHING u dont need to buy seperate things you just buy a PIONEER and it does what you need it to do.... no questions asked

  • Hey Guys! this video instruction is great! it was made 10 months ago and you said there would be another video with using Serato SL. I have the 900s using 3.00 firmware..Im waiting on this next video to see exactly how you have the 900s set up. right now, I have both 900s connected to the Laptop via USB cable. SSL does work very well, but freezes if something or someone bumps the usb cables, then the SSL Freezes and a reboot us required :(

  • that is great but ive been looking everywhere for someone to explain to me about HOT CUES, is it like the CDJ 1000 and you can only save 3 hotcues. Can you now set them per track? and what is there a button to refresh the hotcues when you change songs??

    Thanks!

  • i have a problem with rekordbox 1.4.1 i've got a Sony Vaio intel core i7 laptop computer running windows 7 (64bit edition) when i double click it nothing happens but rekordbox 1.2.4 works fine any suggestions?

  • wil it work with cdj 2000 and rane ttm 57sl

  • track name starts at 0:20???

  • Would it be beneficial for DJ's who don't use CDJ's at the moment to download rekordbox, and sort the music? What advantages does that have?

  • Just got a set of 900s. Great bit of kit. Didn't realise they could do soo much. Great video.

    DJCob1

  • song at 0:20 ? its a bomb

  • what's the name of the song at 0:20??

  • notice at the beginning standing the DJM 2000 between the CDJs, and then afterwards at mixing the DJM 800 which doesn't support direct linking to recordbox :D

  • This is just so complicating!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pioneerdjsounds

when are you guyz planing to give some support or upload some new videos for cdj 850's

  • i got CDJ 850's

it would have much nicer if rekordbox was controlled directly from the CDJ rather then makin copying files to USB

  • Can somebody make a video how to use all futures of recordbox with cdj 850... ?

  • I have the 900. To use rekord box with the 2 decks and 1 computer do I need to use a LAN hub? Is it possible to use 1 computer, rekord box and 2 CDJ 900's?

Currently I'm using a 500GB HDD and preparing playlists. It works fine, but of course, if it's possible to have less hassle I'll go with the LAN set up.

  • lol he loaded a basshunter track

  • do thay work with cdj 1000 mk3.if how

  • Hey pioneer guys, what about implementing a sync feature that will enable me to sync my flashdrives with my library automatically when I plug them in. This would be a very useful feature because I that way I wouldn't always have to transfer the files manually. Also it would be great if the library could by synced for example with one playlist in iTunes.

    Thanks for reading!

  • what is the song @ the beginning..?

    somebody knows..????

  • I've bought the CDJ 850 with the DJM 700 set but is there any way to connect these to recordbox?

  • @ChannelRVB, The 850 does not have the link feature so you can't connect to rekordbox via LAN. The 850 is still rekordbox ready for pre prepared USB keys.

  • @pioneerdjsounds But do you know if there's any way to record my mixes?

  • @pioneerdjsounds ... I just bougt a pair of cdj-900. I have serato ssl1 but i already tried everything to make it work like in this video. i even follow the instructions of minute 4:35 and nothing. can somebody help. Do i need to download the firmware in order to work?? Or can somebody send me a link to a video. Or can somebody make a video step by step serato with cdj900s.. thanks

  • @TheBiglokote213you need to update the players - w w w . pioneer.eu/eur/products/44/106/CDJ-900/media.html

Ensure the CDJ is in Advanced HID mode in the Utility Menu. Connect via USB.

    Thank you PioneerDJSounds Team

  • heres a couple of questions for you guys

ime thinking of getting the new cdj 850's will they work with serato like in the video above or am i gonna have to save longer and get the 900's?

will i still have to use the recordbox software aswell to get serato working in sync with it all because ime really not too keen on rekordbox

    any advice welcome!

  • I have just got my new cdj 350 with rekordbox but it seems to me that i can only use rekordbox to transfer tracks to a USB device and then play on the cdj.Why didnt they make this software to work directly with all compatible cdj.eg loading a track str8 from the laptop and control it from the cdj

  • ive just updated everything, but the cdj 2000 dont do nothing between my mac and serato.

ive everthing connected, with the USB from each cdj2000 to the laptop and also serato hardware.

but is not functioning. can u help me?

  • is it possible to see the songs wave form on rekordbox as it happens on the cdj900 in real time?

  • Hey Pioneer! How about Video Box???? Who agrees?

  • okay if im not using serato and just want to use my pc and rekordbox as a database and dont have a djm 2000 i need a LAN hub? okay so once i get a LAN hub do i connect my pc by ethernet cable or by usb cable???

  • but how can i both link my 2 cdj 900s AND link my PC via LAN hub?? theres only only LAN hub per cdj 900.....is it possible to connect recordbox to my cdj VIA USB cable??

  • I'm still using Serato due to the decks in clubs, but I have used the link mode with my 2000's and it is great. Direct digital no analog lag time. I was going to sleep, but after seeing this I will have to flash my decks with 3.1, get a redbull and try them with serato!

    Might even document...

Pioneer should keep working on rekordbox and it can become the new serato....

  • wow! I totally want to upgrade!

  • Will this firmware/feature be available for the cdj-850 when its released?

  • i have a virtual dj soundscard and 2 timecoded technics.

if i download recordbox can i use the same soundcard and timecode vinyls?

  • hello why not respond my cdj 2000 when connecting it with my laptop via lan? I have to adjust as something special? please hilfe.lg daniel

  • huhuuu there comes also Firmware 3.7 !! Stop the video on 0:50 you'll see there stand 3.7 in the display!!

  • BLUE or ORANGE would be mint

  • i prefer the CDJ2000's to flash RED when they are used as a midi controller is there anyway to change them from WHITE without downgrading them to version 3.00? BLUE would look nice but i dont suppose that the blue led's are included.

  • i prefered the CDJ2000's to flash RED when connected as a midi controller, is there anyway to change it from WHITE without downgrading the firmware?

  • my cdj 2000 works great with serato and traktor they are the best what pioneer ever made...

  • Tracklist please ?

  • F**K Serato, must be annoying for pioneer to have to cater to it!! Not sure why they are even bothering! All you need is Rekordbox at home, suss ya loops, cues then copy to USB drive and go to the club...sorted

  • Sounds Messy!

I think DJ's just have to make a choice, Midi Controller + Mac, CD's Or Vinyl.

Until these are in every club everyone's going to have issues.

I play out alot and most places have 1000's/800's, also no room or power supply's for your laptop and midi controllers, alot of place don't have 1210's if your using serato.

My advice is stick to CD's until your a well known DJ, where the clubs will bend over backwards to accommodate your gear.

  • @Stringer85

    totally agree with u mate

  • All sounds great!!!! , but how are the tracks loaded from Rekordbox to the cdj's?. Are controlled via midi (djm 2000) or do you manually click and drag from your laptop?.

  • @laidbackchuck1 You can access your rekordbox Library on the CDJs, just as as you can browse and access music on a USB or SD-Card, or CD. Or you can use your laptop and drag and drop tracks onto numbered icons of the decks.

  • @pioneerdjsounds

can you also drag and drop a track from rekordbox with the cdj 850. or only with link?

  • @laidbackchuck1 e done evertyhing ok but the cdj2000 dont anything at the serato and everything is conected.

  • @laidbackchuck1 To completely answer your question, the tracks are loaded to your decks over the Network (RJ45) cable.

  • if you dont have an djm2000, and have another mixer, do you need a lan hub?

  • @reschla You can connect two CDJs directly together, but if you want to connect your laptop too, or more than two CDJs, then you need a LAN hub. Any standard hub will work, but we advise using a dedicated one for your system. Don't use your home internet router. Keep two separate systems.

  • @reschla I would recomend a switch instead of a hub. They essentially do the same thing, but switches have more bandwidth available to use as switches transfer information back and forth between destinc ports on the switch. Hubs on the other hand send all information to all addresses on the network at once. It's kind of like a crowded room of people talking. Everyone talks at once, and you can hear everyone at once. But a switch is like a phone conversation. Point to Point.

  • @reschla as pioneerjdsounds says DON'T connect directly to your home network. You need to have a separate network for the CDJs/Rekordbox as they do put through a lot of information, and it will bring your home network down to a crawl. If you have to have them on the network at home, get yourself a decent internet router, and install the WAN of the router onto your home network, and then the LAN sections of the router as a dedicated network for the Pioneers/Rekordbox setup.

  • if you don't have a djm 2000, is it necesary to use a landhub? or can you just 'link' the 2 cdjs together using one cable?

  • Ok, so I have my external drive with my music collection that I use for DJing (all categorized in proper directories and with prepared .asd files and Numark Database as I use Numarks aswell). When I try to analyze content on the drive with Rekordbox it keeps creating copies of my music in x:\Contents\* - but I don't need that. I just want to have my files analized and ready to use with CDJ's - not copied to the same drive again. Why it does that?

  • @raptorekpl

When you import and analyze tracks it's not a feature that rekordbox copies the music. Rekordbox requires you to export the music and database to an external storage device for use on the players. We recommend using a dedicated external drive or SD-Card for this, or you will have duplicates on the same drive. Or if you use rekordbox Link, you can play the music stored on your existing drive, without needing to export and create copies.

  • @pioneerdjsounds OK, so let me get this straight, is it possible to use rekordbox as if it were serato, in that you can drag a song onto the left or right deck on your laptop, and it will appear on the CDJ as a playable track? But to do this you need the new firmware, and you need to usb link the laptop to the cdj, and link one cdj to the other cdj and you're ready to go right? is there anyting I missed?

  • @reschla Yes, that's correct, except your laptop connects with the CDJs via the LAN hub, so your USBs are free for use with controllers or hard drives, etc. rekordbox basically makes your computer appear as a Linked drive on the CDJ. You can also use rekordbox to find your tracks and drag and drop onto the players. You can even drag and drop straight from your iTunes library using the Bridge pane in rekordbox. No soundcards required and just one cable.

  • @pioneerdjsounds

Thank you. That is exactly what I ment. So you can't really keep your own directory structure (apart from ID3) on an external drive, because rekordbox makes it's own structure /Contents/Artist/Album/* upon export. In that case using one drive for both CDJs and Ableton performances don't really make sense. Dedicated drive for Pioneer is only reasonable option. That's kind of shame because Numark managed to store waveforms and tracks database on an existing directory structure.

  • best cdjs evar but 2 xpencive but kool

  • Can you use Ableton Live's .asd files with warp markers information to import beat grids into the Rekordbox (so I don't have to warp my collection all over again)? I don't use CDJ's but I will create rokordbox database just in case I need to use one. Great that this software is available for free.

  • @raptorekpl

Ableton ASDs are not compatible. Currently, no 3rd party beatgrids can be imported.

  • Can i start already with recordbox to build my data base without the cdj's who i wil buy in futere?

Can recordbox also convert cd tracks to high Quilety mp3 or should i do that with for example wavelab witch i already have?

By the way the instruction movie's ar very very usefull to me!

  • @muziekfriek2

Yes you can use rekordbox and prepare all of your cue points and loops and optimised waveforms, etc. and you can use your USB key on the CDJ-350, CDJ-900 and CDJ-2000.

  • @pioneerdjsounds

I do believe that this answer is general promotion, and not answer on my questions.

Becouse i did download recordbox and i need a key to start the software, witch i do not have becouse i did not buy yet the cdj's

  • @muziekfriek2 The license key is available together with the download at prodjnet.com/rekordbox/

  • Can all beat grids, loops and cue's done in Rekord box be usable in Traktor? and vice versa...?

  • @djY2Kev

Currently rekordbox and Traktor have separate Beatgrid systems.

  • @pioneerdjsounds is there any plans to have a converter program that converts traktor library into rekordbox? some people spent hours and hours preparing tracks in traktor (grids) already , it would be nice if theres some sort of tool to convert them all making the transition into rekordbox easier - so we dont have to bring our laptops anymore!

  • @pioneerdjsounds I like the fact you replied "Currently" hope to see it soon. I own Traktor at home, but some clubs are going towards CDJ2000's, I wanted to benefit all the work I put in to my collection, without having to redo everything in Rekord box. hopefully soon.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

  • @djY2Kev

No problem. Give rekordbox a try since it's free and we think you will be happy with the accuracy of the beatgrids algorithm.

  • @pioneerdjsounds will it afect my Traktor grids, or will the mp3 have both tags in the file?

  • @djY2Kev It's not possible, or at least not a stable way of working to add new non-standard data to the MP3 file. ID3 tags are the standard for adding additional data to the file, but this doesn't include dedicated space for Beatgrids, Waveforms, etc. None of the major applications, like Ableton, Traktor, or Serato write data to the file. They nearly al create a database and store the additional information in a designated folder. rekordbox copies this data when you export to USB or SD.

  • @djY2Kev So basically, no.... it won't mess with your current data!
