Sorry for wasting your time I got it (I think) You need to have a head and a cab together or you can get a combo which surprise, surprise is a combination of a head and cab(basically a cab with the controls from a head) Again sorry for wasting your time if you even read any of the comments or any of my comments and sorry for answering my own question(you guys must think I'm such a retard) Sorry

@Rockaholicmatt. A head and cab are one (well, two) types of amplifiers. The cab has the speakers in it from which the tone from the head are amplified. To play a head, you MUST play it through a cab with speakers. However, there is another type of amp called a Combo. This kind has the speaker and head built into one.

I'm considering buying a Dark Terror but unsure about which cab would suit best... 2x12 is a little too big to lug around.. so am between a 1x12 Orange and either the Blackstar HT408 or 1X12 blackstar.. Wont be having a chance to try them out, so wonder, would the Blackstars pair well with this amp? Many thanks!! : ))

@Dimi8448 either is a great choice and they are the same price here at Andertons. Our gut would be to go with the 1x12 which is smaller, lighter and yet because the speaker itself is bigger when mic'ed up for gigs or recording you'll get a better tone with more bass than from mic'ing one of the 8" speakers. How does that sound?

@Dimi8448 the Orange 1x12 has a Celestion Vintage 30 which is, we have to admit, one of our favourite speakers ever for guitar cabs. So that's what you get for your extra cash, plus if you're buying an orange amp you want to show you're fans some orange tolex surely! ;)

probably on of the best rythm tones I've ever heard from that price level amp! Still, love blackstar ht-5. Which of this you think is better for home studio and bedroom level playing?

@TheMasterLuk well for home level playing the HT5 will win out. The best tones from the DT come when you're really cooking the output stage and that means running it pretty loud. Louder than bedroom level for sure!
