  • If electric engine will be the future, I will terribly miss the soul-wrenching raw noise of a tuned EXPLOSION engine which gives me bliss.

    VVVRRROOOOAAAAMMMM

  • here's a solution 12 volt TRAIN HORN. listen closely as the motorcycle deafens you :-D

  • I don't think I could ride that bike whilst still feeling manly :T

  • @PyreManiacz somehow makeing noise makes you more manly?? then why don't you shout constantly when you walk anywhere? The biggest thing that makes a motorbike manly is the risk you take and an electric one still has plenty of that..

  • The "loud pipe" arguement here is hilarious, motorcycles are technically dangerous to begin with, yes the pipes make it easier for people to know you're there, but that same thing could be simulated by speakers and a recording if you're such an irresponsible rider that you can't be avoided by cars. Yes there is a bit of fun having a loud beast of a motorcycle if you're showing off but electric motorcycle can be just as good if you're willing to put more time into them.

  • i agree with tommyjonestheband...

  • loud pipes don't save lives, that is a myth

use your horn and your brain instead

  • is that thing for sale?

  • is that thing for sale?

  • Great, now we know that it can travel in a strait line at a constant speed...

  • Comment removed

  • shut up about pipes its electric

  • Loud pipes are for fags. Any car driver who can't take time to look both ways before pulling out shouldn't have a licence. Fluorescent gear is mandortary in many industries but most bikers with the loud pipe attitude still dress in black and still dont get seen or heard.

  • Saving lives is the last thing I think of as some middle aged moron revs up his bike while driving through a residential neighborhood trying to go "beyond thunderdome". Say what you want about street bikes but loud pipes are for douche bags.

  • how much does this thing cost???

  • name of that bike?

  • that's a bluell

  • loud pipes dont save lives, thats pure stupidity, use your horn. you think a trucker is going to hear you revving your engine at 70 mph? with the din from wind noise, road noise, his own trucks noise and his radio on?? how about you just drive safer..

  • @heybulldog13 You've never ridden a bike have you? Loud pipes save lives because if someone is sat in their driveway, about to pull out, they are more likely to hear a bike passing if it has a loud pipe on it. If an electric bike comes past, they probably wont her the 'whiring' sound that it makes and just pull out regardless. Loud pipes can also help to scare wild animals out of the path of the road. Ride a bike for 1 week, and you will become a MUCH better driver.

  • @SynkopeMusic if you look on my channel..not only do i ride bikes, i own three..and have been riding since i was 9. i use my horn, thats why its there. if youve ever driven anything motorized..they have horns ..not loud pipes. its a myth. my horn is louder than any muffler system. thanx

  • Geil! Ich werd bald ein Elektroroller haben wies aussieht ;P

  • @xx3

You are a total fuckwit homo. Eat a dick man

  • I am thinking about buying a electric bike but they need more range for what I need. About 100 miles would be plenty but 40 is not enough.

  • I have a Mini 40 Mile Busettii bike and it runs 50-55 miles on one battery charge. I also tried my friends Vortex Mountain bike by Busettii. It ROCKS ! Can get up to 32 mph top speed, and on one charge that bike set the new record of 86 miles. Hope it becomes a big hit. In California many people like Busettii because they cost around $1700 but can go 50--86 miles on one charge depending on model. Maria in Cali

  • Electric engines can and will be the future! The higher problem is the power storage! But in the future, not many years from now, we will be able of storing more power with smaller batteries! At least, I hope so! XP

  • @xx3 we can (; it's just about the price

  • @wolfertschmidt1

That's true! XD Nowadays the price of things is pretty important! The economical crisis that's spreading through the world isn't helping a bit, unfortunately! Maybe when production gets higher, prices will get lower! XP

  • @xx3

are u a fag from california????

  • I don't give a fuck what anyone says.....I LOVE Electric bikes! Lots of you are living in the past! Way of the future....

  • BORING!!!!!!!!

  • LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES

  • @wsterfred True

  • @allen423100 its not actually.. I almost died on my streetfighter cus of a stupid cabie.. He heard me Im sure, didnt make any difference.

  • @wsterfred how would all you loud pipe people like it if all cars on the road were replaced with motorcycles like yours 24/7, including in your own neighborhood. It would be ridiculous like living in a war zone or loud factory. People with loud pipes are selfish...

  • i like it. I like Running On Lithium much better. Fuunn

  • lol looks like a bullet bike, sounds like a bee. I WANT ONE

  • Nice! I think this looks way better than the Brammo. Looks aren't everything, but they do count for something. The Brammo is just plain ugly. I would be embarrassed to ride one. This one looks pretty cool.

  • Just wandering how you deal with the engine breaking on these motors

  • all we need is a stormtrooper flying one

  • Hey fella's. There's an electric race series for bikes called TTXGP. Just type it on the youtube search bar and enjoy.

    All the best :)

  • how can i get a driver's license for this one (electric motorcycle)? I live in New York and I am thinkin' to buy one of this, have motorcycles the same procedure to get a driver's license car? i really have no clue and need help

  • derbi gpr ?

  • does it do wheelies??

  • ahahaha that would suck if it died in the middel of nowwhere

  • I don't know how comfortable I would feel on such a quiet bike... Have you been in any sticky situations yet?

  • Wow, this bike really sounds great, so quiet and no gas or smoke fumes.

  • How fast can they go if electric? and does that get rid of the clutch system?

  • i wander how can i get one of these electric motorcylce and how much will it cost??????

  • it would bee quieter and lighter with a belt drive.

  • hey can you show that motor

  • does it feel like riding a scooter or a motorcycle or both?

  • that area looks like san jose ca

  • very nice motocycle of the future

  • It looks like an Aprilia Derbi GPR 125. (converted to electric of course) What you are hearing is the chain noise, it could be eliminated with a carbon belt drive. But give this guy credit for all of the hard work to acomplish what even the big companies haven't done yet!

  • so what everything on an electric bike is supposed to be quiet? how bout the chain and sprockets? if you want a true quite bike then park it in your drive way and dont start, move, or do anything to it. even the most expensive bikes arnt completly quiet.

  • @supradrifter 1. No emissions. 2. Higher torque. 3. Lower fuel cost. 4. Belt drive.

  • @devilsinthedetails how will it have higher torque?

  • @oVoLaTiLex

Electric motors offer 100% torque from 0 rpms. You can get full power from the motor straight away, so the acceleration is nuts.

  • @Zamboro oh that's pretty cool. I still love the sound of a gas powered engine though :)

  • @oVoLaTiLex i understand, but for playing with electric buggie, i would say that you will finish by liking the little singing of eletric motor that mean TOORRRQQQUEE. =)

  • @supradrifter your not to bright...a shaft drivin bike would be nearly silent...i know thats not a sports bike thing though...

  • the noise is the electric motor, just b/c it makes noise doesn't mean it's not electric. electric motors are not perfectly quiet

  • Is it possible for me to like the idea, but still say "I don't like the sound of it"?

  • yeah, I agree. A proposed sound for it includes

    tie fighter

    blade runner car

    tron bike

  • @eldictator1

    You forgot the Jetson's car!

  • Comment removed

  • @eldictator1

how about: light sabres, electric sizzling, pop goes the weasel (jack in the box), cocunut shell horses, cartoon jalopies (eg. speed buggy), sex moans & purrs & bed squeaking, animal growls, army tank treads, the theme from jaws, looping honeymooners (hummina hummina hummina), or fred flintstone peel outs!

  • @djgambitron Ha ha. Iove the jaws theme and sex moans as potential sounds

  • @eldictator1

glad you replied, i thought of the ULTIMATE electric vehicle noise possible last night... george jetson's flying saucer!!!! i want an electric guitar just so i can use that!

speaking of "sex moans" & motorcycles, if you want to see the funniest wheeled vehicle in the universe, google image "1188-male-bicycle". if you don't fall out of your chair laughing every time you look at it, then i have no clue what funny is.

  • @djgambitron SOLD! I'm on it...not the actual bicycle, but the image

  • @eldictator1

well? was that the funniest vehicle you've ever seen, or what:? the suspense is killing me! LOL

  • sweet

  • I think the electric motorcycle is a great concept. It is already out there. Just be careful at acceleration. And be safe riding.

  • What is the ragne and cruse speed??

  • what's that flapping noise?

do safe is it to brake? especially without engine braking?

    thank you

  • i hate that noise :( beside that they're the future as they're verry economical !!

  • agree. Hope that noise will disappear...

  • That's a Derbi gpr LOL.

  • A high powered hub motor is a relatively difficult feat due to the difficulties in cooling something that's rotating. It also tends to have higher weight due to geometric constraints. A separate motor can be geometrically optimized, have effective cooling to allow high power and be much lighter.

  • i don't see how a wheel which houses the motor can be the same weight as one without which just has spokes

  • what i mean is it would effectively be a heavier wheel. which means worse handling

  • what about unsprung weight

  • that chain makes a lot of noise.

    Do a wheelie!

  • Its future...

  • dude wear some fucking gloves at least

  • lol

  • no one would ever hear you coming...even more of a death with then a normal bike...

  • No one hears any motorcycle coming unless they have illegal exhaust. A lot of times it just makes them mad instead of aware. it's proven that it doesn't help to have loud exhaust. It's a myth.

  • bullshit.. you always hear a bike before you see it..

  • I guess that's true...provided you're going under 30MPH with the windows down and no other noise around you.

Unless you're the god of hearing...But I know bikes ALWAYS sneak up on me when I'm driving because I can't hear them until they're right next to my window.

I guess it's just me...and the entire motorcycle safety foundation, so all the normal people like you can hear any bike from behind eh?

  • not if you got kids in the back or if there are lot of traffic etc. Our jobs as drivers to know what we are doing, this is why I stopped driving I could not take the risk of killing someone because of information over load. I prefer bikes etc

  • It's not a myth, it's an excuse.

  • You ride, correct? You honestly believe everyone in a car hears you? You honestly believe that everyone in a car will always hear you before seeing you? You and everyone else that thinks people in cars will always hear a bike before they see them are completely retarded and should not be riding because you're a danger to everyone on the road. No one hears you until it's too late moron. That's a fact PROVEN by a lot of injured riders who were obeying the law.

  • Comment removed

  • its is not his job to make sure you hear him except in an emergency, thats why we have horns on bikes/cars. Its your job in the car to be viligiant all the time, to have 360 degree knowledge of your surroundings. If you a hit a guy on ones these bikes and he has right of way, or you pull out etc, the courts and the police and not going to listen to your plea of oh I did not hear him. They will say why did you not see him. At the best of times it hard to hear most traffic out side the car.

  • I am not a fan of Harley-Davidson but they use belts and they do hold up very well, they last at least twice as long as a chain will and have less friction than a chain. They hold up well to massive amounts of torque. I wish all motorcycles were belt driven, they are cheaper to replace than a chain and sprocket set and with the belt tensioner set ups I have seen no adjustments required.

  • sound is crab

  • i want the same.

  • I like this. Has anyone thought about belt drive to reduce noise and probably friction losses?

  • Same idea, instantly on viewing this video...the motor is so quiet that the chain sounds damn loud...a belt would be quieter (I'm not sure about friction, the chain could be already the top solution for that). Maybe an in-wheel motor can be the best answer to both

  • FUQKIN COOL

  • I'm now dreaming of an Etek motor in an Aprilia RS50 frame. With the battery from a Zero X...

  • what do you think about fluid drive? then you couldn't hear that loud chain...

    just a though.Patricio

  • thats basically the derbi gpr 50 93 model aint it ? but just wit a diff engine :P

  • This makes me think of the Chevy Volt. I cant wait to see it. I'm thinking of buying one when it comes out.

  • thats so sweet, but i still like the sound of motorcycles better.

  • Noo pussy faggotts that was a bird...

  • ha no thanks ill stick to my ninja

  • does anyone know how you connect the throttle up on one of these things?

    I need to know!

  • I nice DC controller and a big potentiometer.

  • THATS DANGEROUS the reason why motorcycles are so loud are that other people know where you are if that hits the highway its hitting the ashfault

  • I thought they were loud because they have an inefficient gas motor and poor carburetor.

  • depends on your bike and all but one of a motorcycles safty features is its noise so on the highway ans whatnot people have an extra hint that somethings comming, say theres a bullet comming at you from 2 miles away and you dont hear it you get hit (quit you dont know) but then theres a bullet thats making a real loud whistling sound you have a better chance of dodging it

  • I thought they where loud to make up for penis size.

  • aww, im sorry for your dissapointment

  • Welll...For those of us who arnt exactly wanted on the highways (by our parents) and can only drive them in our neighborhoods (like me) then, well...neighbors have no need to be getting mad about the sound of an engine.

  • the sound is still a factor some people may not see you at night but they hear a loud reving and look twice.

  • Well yes. That cant be helped.

  • It is the (modified ? ) silencer of the inefficient ICE the real "noiser", not muffling the thousand bangs from the exploding mixture inside motor itself...

  • Hhmm, I guess there is not enough "electric" to burn the headlight, right? Whatever. Ride forever.

  • Use florescent instead. I'm sure you can find a DOT approved bulb out there somewhere.

  • ghk

  • that rear sprocket is HUGE !

  • omg i drooled while watching this. Its max is 75mph and its electric? How much is this shit?? hope its not more then $8000.

Please get back at me i would love to buy one of these.

  • Nonsense, only A squid can say said. Do some more research, noise level has nothing to do with safety since 99% of bike accidents are from the front (car turning). they do not hear your bike unless it has insane noise levels of a starting fighter jet.

  • so the y2k is the safest by that logic. it has a jet engine in it

  • I saw a clip on an electric scooter. It looked more motorcycle-like than scooter. It's called the Vectrix. Nice looking. Check it out on web searches, maybe a video here on youtube.

  • Been looking at this video for a year now (keep researching eletric cars, bikes, and scooters every couple months) and it's still probably my favorite. Hoping you eventually provide some kind of kit that can be easily installed to a stock Derbi.

  • too much noise for an electric, they could do way better than that.

  • The noise is chain and sprocket noise. Any chain-driven motorcycle makes that noise, you just don't notice it because it's masked by a loud dino-burner. :)

  • you probably haven't read lilbrudder32's comment:

"The noise is chain and sprocket noise. Any chain-driven motorcycle makes that noise, you just don't notice it because it's masked by a loud dino-burner. :)"

  • yup, definetly way to much unpleasant sounds

  • That's a derbi GPR50, i had one of those when i was 16!(not electric thank god) it's pretty cool to see how the electric power thing is coming along though, give it a few years these things'll progress quickly i reckon

  • i rode electric scooters in china one ran a bonifide 70 mph speed was told it was by far not the fastest production e- bike in china( 140kph) also some chinese students hot rod those e-scooters claiming 175kph /115mph speeds, not sure of that ,but the e-max will run 140kph over 92 mph right off the showroom floor in china 7000watt motor lit-ion battery good for 90-120 kilometers per charge at 50-70 kph e-scooters in china range in price from 300-1000usd chinese abuse these things their sturdy

  • Have some kind of a link?

  • thats quite a nice machine what is called and how much are they.

  • I'm looking forward to the day when we can ride electric. I for one only ever ride my bike as a pass-time, not as a commute. As long as there is enough range, and the acceleration is still there with a decent top-end I can't wait! As for the noise, well I love 2 stroke 250's and they're as dead as dodos now, (only took 15 years.....)

  • it runs on AA's

  • sweet dude! me too!

  • how fast can that thing go?

  • you should do something about the chain slap im thinking? good job on the bike!

  • it still wouldnt sound as kool as an internal combustion engine, but i guess i could get used to "WIIIIIIIIIIIING"

  • Gas engines dont sound cool. Their annoying, loud, and irritating. each time someone pulls up beside me and revvs their engine my wife and i make it a point, to point at them and laugh. 1 for being so dumb that they think EVERYONE who has a nice paintjob and car wants to race, and 2 that they think their cool when we should all pitty them for being stuck in the 1960's

  • in the future well be all laughing at how primitive gasoline engines were and the all pollution we've been emitting as we laugh today at steam engine cars locomotives of the past!!

    200 years ago..coal

    last 100 years gasoline

    next 100 years?? hydrogen? or?

  • yeah, but over HALF our electricity is still produced in COAL POWER PLANTS! and that's a CONSERVATIVE figure. yep, thats right we're, now, burning more coal than ever before. however, where i live, we're all hydroelectric. so, here it makes sense to use electricity for our vehicles, because it is clean energy.

  • Yes, but industrial oil and coal burning power plants are over 3 times more efficient at turning a gal. of oil into electricity for an EV car the an internal combustion engine (ICE)is at turning that same gal. of oil in to movement. Most of the energy from an ICE is wasted as heat and must be disposed of by way of the radiator.

EV would use 1/3rd les power then ECI

  • If everyone invested in solar power you could run this motorcycle without the need for a coal burning power plant.

  • And as the demand for more solar cells increases the amount manufactured will increase, there efficiency will increase and the cost will go down, way down, just like transistors did in computers. The first transistors cost $5 each. Now the typical computer chip has 45 million of them at a cost of about 0.0001 cent each. But then computers did not have to fight a well established monopoly like the oil conglomerate.

  • Half true, because more demand=more research=cheaper BUT you cannot scale down solar panels making 1000 of them out of the raw material used for one (as with the transistors in computers) because 1) they heat up for the light hitting them and the current flow in them 2)unless you focus the sun on them you need a large surface to get the power. More research is needed to get rid of fossils fuels, and we need it now!

  • "in the future well be all laughing at how primitive gasoline engines were and the all pollution we've been emitting "

And in the future after that well be laughing at people really believed that pollution is causing heating climate...

  • thats going to need one hell of a horn because of pedestrians walking out in front of you and stuff they wont hear me comming up the road

  • no, electric motors make +200 pounds of tourque at atleast 1 rpm 0 rpm means NOTHING not moving thats like saying my car makes 50000000000000hp at 0rpm you cant it has to be moving duuh

  • sorry. but i believe you're wrong, torque is a force applied to a lever, you can try to unscrew a seased bolt with a spanner, it won't move but you are still applying torque to it at zero RPM, you won't be doing any horsepower, not because you aren't a horse (lol), but because Horsepower is torque X RPM, and in this case it's zero RPM

  • Torque is still valid at 0 rpm.

Push your hands against eachother. That is torque (force applied).

Your hands are not moving (no time frame) but that doesnt mean you arent pushing.

Now move one of your hands one meter in one second.

That is horsepower (force causing movement within fixed time frame, measured).

You are mixing the two up.

  • how can i get one of those

  • Batteries last long provided you use Energizer brand

  • how long does da batterylast 4

  • what speeds is it capable of?

  • that is awsome...=)

  • it's louder than de mercedes behind him :-P

  • Hey how did you hide the batteries so well?? How much did the project cost you? Thanks

  • doesn't he realise a camera is in his face?

  • its cool but c'mon, dont defile a 'cycle w/ a 40hp motor...on 2nd thought, how does it perform through the poewr band?

  • It would basiclly always be in the powerband, eletric motors are instant and continous power.

  • cool, cant they at least get 100hp though, c'mon the beauty of a bike the naked speed & agility. my suzuki has 120hp on the rear. let's get some power. i'll be the first in line to buy
