@rcolemanuk expecting straight men to have such feelings is like expecting afghanistan to beat brazil in soccer, straight men are good for playing football and having several hookers and of course domestic violence thats what straight men do.
@whatever3009 - What a sad, sorry life you lead. But then what made you WATCH the clip in the first place? I'm straight, always will be. But I have feelings too. Maybe you haven't had many life events in which allow you to relate to the songs. I don't know. But everyone's allowed an opinion thanks for yours.
@whatever3009 That's insulting. A straight man can have all the emotions, compassion, and love in the world and you think gay guys are the only ones that feelings? Will you judge everyone by the darkest end of the scope? Please widen your views.
@whatever3009 you, mate, are one very sick individual, I take pity on you and hope to fuck you never have any kids to carry on your misogyny, although I think its more probable that you are hung like a hamster and secretly pray for a jolly rogering!!!
Generally Ben (in orange) was the better singer. Lewis was not as good. That's why Ben went on to have a lead role in a West End musical and Lewis was an understudy.
Ben and Lewis were among the weaker contestants but because the judges thought they looked the past, ALW saved them a couple of times, including over far better contestants.
Ben is doing quite well for himself though.
Lewis (one of the producer's clear favourites) stood in briefly for the winner, Lee Mead, while he was on holiday but wasn't very well-received (surprise!) and recently auditioned on GMTV for Troy in the West End production of HSM but didn't get the public vote there either.
they don't sound that brill tbh, u have to sing this song with passion nd emotion otherwise it sounds stupid nd flat...sorry boys but it has to be said, that wasn't the best...

I don't agree that this song is only for women. Michael Ball did a great job of it. Their voices just didn't gel at all. Having said that, I know they're supposed to be against each other but it just didn't sound... nice when they sang together.

A SECRET so sneaky for Susan Boyle uses to make us cry. Just watch 140 Tubarc - Susan Boyle Secret Code for Weeping. Give me a feedback if you were smart enough to get it . . ..
I just wanted to know what competition this is. And secondly, what's wrong with the song choice?! It's not fitting at all. This song has to be sung from the heart, from love. These boys make it obvious that their not interested.
I mean I know Andrew is here and all but wtf is this. The song was not even the right gender and what's the point of them doing a duet over it if it's a competition? If one screws up, the other is misled - that doesn't even make sense!
The song has been performed by several men before, so that is irrelevant. Michael Ball being one. A good actor/ress will be able to cope even if the other person 'screws up'. So the point is to pit the two together to see which one can stay into the next round/week and the other one goes home. Can I also point out that Andrew was also taking into consideration the REST OF THE WEEKS activities as well, not just the songoff. They both did well as anyone who has seen les mis on stage will know.
Well, Ben had the last laugh anyway. Lewis might have understudied Lee Mead as Joseph, but Ben ended up as leading man in Hairspray, which is undoubtably one of the truly wonderful musicals on in the west end currently. He's come on in leaps and bounds and even performed on John Barrowman's latest album, so well done to him!
Worst version I ever heard. What an insult to a timeless piece of music. Bland, generic, emotionless vocals, sat on top of a sped up, over produced, and mediocre arrangement.
Listen to Ruthie Henshall (not Susan Boyle) at the Les Mis anniversary show to hear this piece of art the way it was meant to be done.
I agree Susan did, but i believe these guys did too. knowing they had the possibility of being booted from the show. Its a career all the men on the show wanted.
I think they sung it very well, but again the song is well written and perfectly placed for both situations.
I think that Ben should have been saved. Poor him when he tried to thank Weber for this experience and the host just treated him as a bad loser and sent him off. I think that he should at least get to say his thoughts to Weber without being interupted by some obnoxious host.
The idea of the jackets was that they were in a competition for 'Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'. This song is the singoff and both boys were fully aware that one of them would shortly be going home have to hand back their coat. So they were both under immense pressure from the singoff.
Andrew chose Lewis over Ben not just on the song but the whole weeks work. I think lewis shone through on the acting part in the week (which isnt in this video). Ben has played Joseph since.
People, The comments section is for discussing THIS video from I'd do anything.

Commenting that someone else sent you to this site is idiotic, stupid, a sign of herd mentality. BTW, the producers of Britain's Got Talent admitted to CBC (Canada) that they staged the entire scenario of Susan's performance & shamefully manipulated the audience & viewers emotions.

Susan's delivery was just so powerful no one has come close to her version and feeling even the performer in the play. These boys don't even come close and not being mean but God Susan felt that song. These two lack the power in their voices. Interesting to see all the versions of this song.
nope this was not too good to hear. They didn't grab the feeling of the song. Oh and Susan Boyle's performance of this song is what brought me here. Though I applaud the guys' efforts. Though I think they couldn't grab the tempo right, and they seemed to approach the song differently than what I would have thought. Though this is just my opinion. Thanks for sharing this video though. :)
don't be a moron. there's no such thing as a song being "for females". music is universal and transcendent. that's like saying certain paintings are for females.
God this is a tough song to sing. I think the guy in the orange sang better in this clip, but, for me, the guy in he blue has more potential. Just seems to have a bigger voice, but it needs more tweaking...
I think the guy on the left (Orange coat) had more emotion then the guy on the right. the guy on the right seemed still and not a lot of emotion like the other dude.
I was surprised at the end. I thought the orange one seemed much better, I felt it more in his face, and the blue one's voice kind of annoyed me. Although I did notice the orange one didn't hold one or two notes as long as he should have. Maybe that was why? I don't know.
When the announcer said "Neither of you wanted to sing this, but YOU MUST!"
I was like hell yeah they didn't want to sing it! They probably knew it would sound terrible with their voices and was never meant to be sung by male vocalists.
Why the hell was the blond guy smiling at the end? He ruined the end of his performance!
Otherwise they both very emotional- there vocals were good too, and they gave me a new perspective of the song, which I'm singing in an audition next week.
Anyway, I still think they did their best- but who is who, and which one won and what year was this in?
None of the 2 actually won the competition. It was a man named Lee Mead and it was to play Joseph in the west end. The competition was in 2007. I just uploaded this clip because I love the song so much.
I cried during this, 1st time I'd heard the song. However Ruthie is totally amazing. You'd think that there were no male MT songs the amount of womens song they had to perform
I think its not a bad version. Of course any song performed out of its original setting is going to loose a lot of power. You loose the build up, the setting, the set, the lighting, the atmosphere. So I think its a good performance performed by the lads on a song that was designed for a woman who just got fired with a kid to look after and no money.
pshhh lower harmon y took a breath in shame, and the higher held on strong. THATS SAD,MAN. high ish harder for guys then lower. if itad been women, and the higher took a breath i'd chastise her because high is easier for us.
they weren't bad, it was just the fact that the show had them sing together, which was stupid, cuz, they're in competition with each other, they can't sing the same through the whole thing so they sound good as a duo, they needed to shine individually. That's why it sounded bad together, cuz they were being themselves and trying to show how they as individuals would sing that song, not as a duo. and that host sucked: cut off ALW and cut off the guy when he was trying to thank them! "ya sorry.."
even though any dream will do finished... i don't know- about 6 years ago, i'm still raving about it! OH DEAR. the series with the men were the most genuine, the most talent-centred, the most heart-felt, the best.

so poor after susan boyle did it ! it will never be the same !

Susan's delivery was just so powerful no one has come close to her version and feeling even the performer in the play. These boys don't even come close and not being mean but God Susan felt that song. These two lack the power in their voices. Interesting to see all the versions of this song.
PROFILESophiaYates 2 years ago 3
nope this was not too good to hear. :)

This song is for females, in my opinion.
coldatspot 2 years ago
don't be a moron. there's no such thing as a song being "for females". music is universal and transcendent. that's like saying certain paintings are for females.
butternuttt 2 years ago 3
They didn't feel the song the were singing! Had they liked the song they would have sung it much better than they had!
SunRose101 2 years ago
God this is a tough song to sing. I think the guy in the orange sang better in this clip, but, for me, the guy in he blue has more potential. Just seems to have a bigger voice, but it needs more tweaking...
GoodbyeToBlueberyPie 2 years ago
I think the guy on the left (Orange coat) had more emotion then the guy on the right. the guy on the right seemed still and not a lot of emotion like the other dude.

Cant get over the coats...this is a comedy routine right?

remeber, about the coats..
this is for joseph and the TECHNICOLOR DREAM COAT!

I think Lewis was the stronger voice on the night, not perfect but at this stage of the comp I think they were great.

They weren't THAT BAD. I've heard MUCH worse. :)

thanks for ruining my favourite song :|

why do they have to wear those ugly jackets?
I was surprised at the end. I thought the orange one seemed much better, I felt it more in his face, and the blue one's voice kind of annoyed me. Although I did notice the orange one didn't hold one or two notes as long as he should have. Maybe that was why? I don't know.

When the announcer said "Neither of you wanted to sing this, but YOU MUST!"
I was like hell yeah they didn't want to sing it! They probably knew it would sound terrible with their voices and was never meant to be sung by male vocalists.
But they do have great voices on their own.
sjfoarde6893 3 years ago
theres a guy at my school who sings this and it sounds really good
predator535 3 years ago
i think its more to do with the fact they're both obviously struggling with it so must find it hard, although i don't think it's that difficult

Who does the presenter think he is? Ben should have won anyway.
aprilsprings94 3 years ago
Why the hell was the blond guy smiling at the end? He ruined the end of his performance!
Otherwise they both very emotional- there vocals were good too, and they gave me a new perspective of the song, which I'm singing in an audition next week.
Anyway, I still think they did their best- but who is who, and which one won and what year was this in?
aprilsprings94 3 years ago
None of the 2 actually won the competition. It was a man named Lee Mead and it was to play Joseph in the west end. The competition was in 2007. I just uploaded this clip because I love the song so much.

Why are they singing what has to be a woman's song? Because it's so lovely and gentle when Fantine sings it. Ew. They ruined it :(

I cried during this, 1st time I'd heard the song. However Ruthie is totally amazing. You'd think that there were no male MT songs the amount of womens song they had to perform
janelapoule 3 years ago 3
wheres the power? too lame for me, you fail to me
tomtom1354 3 years ago 6
I think its not a bad version. Of course any song performed out of its original setting is going to loose a lot of power. You loose the build up, the setting, the set, the lighting, the atmosphere. So I think its a good performance performed by the lads on a song that was designed for a woman who just got fired with a kid to look after and no money.
rcolemanuk 3 years ago
pshhh lower harmon y took a breath in shame, and the higher held on strong. THATS SAD,MAN. high ish harder for guys then lower. if itad been women, and the higher took a breath i'd chastise her because high is easier for us.

Well, it doesn't seem like a song a man would sing. It doesn't really suit men.

i find it so creepy hearing guys singing this song.
absentimentalx 3 years ago 4
Thank you! It's horrible :(
senorlucien 3 years ago
they weren't bad, it was just the fact that the show had them sing together, which was stupid, cuz, they're in competition with each other, they can't sing the same through the whole thing so they sound good as a duo, they needed to shine individually. That's why it sounded bad together, cuz they were being themselves and trying to show how they as individuals would sing that song, not as a duo. and that host sucked: cut off ALW and cut off the guy when he was trying to thank them! "ya sorry.."
