moving an f-15 alert mission inland.........a hair brained political move that has made the North East Air Defense Sector weaker.....God Bless the 102 FW..... I will never forget you
What have they been doing lately? Seems they just got the go ahead to start flying these things because Ive been hearing them for the past week; for the first time, since they've arrived at Barnes. Are they just taking them for a spin to keep'em in shape or are they actually practicing something.
I live in West Springfield which is sandwhiched between Westover and Barnes. Its been getting loud here lately with the C-5's and now the F-15's flying around now. Not that Im complaining. =)
I will never forget the time i saw 10 of those fighter planes fly right over Falmouth center in perfect formation. I think it was late summer of 2007. Anyways Great Video.
yeah the whole deal for the Otis guys was really shitty. "lets get rid of the A-10s, then give the F-15s to the A-10 guys..." Brilliant decision BRAC commission! sheesh
Awesome aircraft. I've spent a few vacations at Center Parcs, Suffolk, which is a few miles from RAF Lakenheath, home of the 48th Fighter Wing F-15s. It was always great to see and hear them overhead.
i knw... and get this, they didnt even re-hire the pilots from otis and move them to barnes. they re-trained all of the A-10 pilots over there, which probably cost millions too!!! AND NOW, they have pilots over on cape, with no jobs.
The BRAC commission was tasked to realign and close bases to "save money." So they moved the F-15's to Barnes ANGB MA which needed multi millions in facilities and training and retooled Otis for an intel mission costing multi millions in facilities and training. Idiots.
I can only hope that we will see them on Cape again.. I am a Paramedic who worked on 9/11 in NJ/NY and was able to go help people in need once I saw your dads commrades protecting the sky overhead, without fear. I Can't remember a time the F-106s & F-15s didnt bring a rush out the door by my family with me leading the way to watch and admire what your father is doing.. Please THANK him and tell him COME ON BACK!!
Thanks for the video - I enjoyed filming them at the air show - and a few weeks ago my daughter's class from Mullen Hall got to see them up close in the hangers during a class visit. The pilots were great. Thanks for your service.

They did give them the option of either moving on to Barnes, retiring, of training for the new mission of the wing.

I'm going on what the press said. It did seem unlikely though that it would occur.
