@ xlatina4life culinary is top 10 to even top 5 , but that doesnt mean that it is popular in the United States yet, cuz it isnt it. , its not a big market for it yet. there arent even alot of us living in the United States like the boricuas and the mexicans.., so.. BUT HOPEFULLY one day it will come thru.
I went here today! The food was really fantastic and Cesar was such a cool guy! He kept coming by and joking with me because I'm a vegetarian ahaha! But he was so nice and funny and sarcastic, and the food was AMAZING! He was even kind enough to sit down and tell me how to make my dish!! :) If you're near Chicago, DEFINITELY go eat there! You won't regret it!
omg!! peruvian food is so delicious!! I came to this place last week and my experience was incredible.. all the dishes are exquisite! the owner is a nice guy too and the environment very friendy :)
@nsync1975 Hey buddy many people use vinegar , a lot of people use pisco others use chicha de jora few use wine . so why not beer? If it taste good is up to him to use beer cooking lomo saltado. it's his secret ingredient. I'm gonna try sake ( japanese rice wine ) next time I'll cook it.. Congratulation to the owner of Taste of Peru. The people of the neighborhood like the food and this Food star Guy Fieri liked the food so much.
GUYS RELAX, IT IS NEVER GOING TO BE EXACTLY THE SAME AS BACK HOME!!, ITS A DINER!!, HE HAS TO MAKE SOME SHORT CURTS SOME HOW, TAMALES TAKE AN LONG ASS TIME TO MAKE !, ..but then again lol every peruvian is a strong critic !
That' NOT how you cook a tamal. There should be not flour. You use MOTE or regular peruvian corn. I'm peruvian born and raised, french trained chef, so i feel sad when people wrongly teach to cook authentic peruvian food. I can also tell that beer is not (never) part of LOMO SALTADO. This is just a constructive critic. Saludos a mis paisanos.
the food is decent cant believe they made it on this show. im peruvian and this place is ok. there are plenty of peruvian restaurants here in chicago. and if u live in florida especially miami there are like hundreds of peruvian restaurants and better.
My dear friend Julie's restaurant! Her husband is quite amazing with his talent!! I would be there every week if I could! Those Tamales look so goooood!!! :-D
@CSFP123 No arroz chaufa. They showed the owner making some really delicious-looking tamales and lomo saltado. Guy also tries anticuchos which he didn't seem to enjoy lol. The restaurant looks like a great place to visit.
Ah! Finally people are reconizing how good Peruvian food is. It might not be the most popular, but it sure is the best <3 I AM PROUD TO BE A PERUVIAN! :D
Damn Good !!! Like they said water on my mouth and tears on my eyes, so proud to be a PERUVIAN !!!!!! Good job on Chicago bring it here to Minneapolis
