i live in edinburgh, this pub is amazin btw ! the Royal Oak near chambers street if anyone wants to know. the indian restaurant next door is also amazin after a few pints
@alderneyfred Haha - That is Freddy for you (the "mature" fiddler). He has an arrangement if he is doing a session that he can get as much free tea as he wants.
@scotty9838 Especially music, when you consider that most of our Appalachian music has its roots in the music brought by the Scots Irish who settled the region (with other English, African and Native American additions). Lots of Scottish tunes sit really well on 5-string banjo. :)
GREAT IRISH MUSIC

What the feck kind of session is this ?
There's mugs for tea or coffee on the tables and there's two ( TWO, mind you ! ) people drinking glasses of water !
Nothing wrong with the music though.
And only one guitarist playing at a time - that's a rare kind of discretion.

This tune also has a "Cape Breton" fiddle feel... And, a darn good one at that.
Thank you from Canada!

For the record the tunes are Irish and the pub is Scottish!
Thanks for the nice comments tonecas83. It was a grand session. I really need to make it back down to The Oak again soon. It has been a while.

OK Darkvibration, you're right it's like the same great tunes in Dublin, but as I am in Edinburgh let's say Scottish, for a while
