  • -downloads emulator-

    -downloads ROM of FFIV-

-stands Cecil in the overworld and leaves him there-

  • My fave was FFVI. Doubt that square will return to these games.

  • I didn't know Youtube only counted my views!

  • Just waiting on FFVI for the DS..

  • @voodude2011 I would have liked them to have remade FF V and VI for the PSP, but the crappy Vita comes out soon so.

Maybe they will make them for the 3DS..

  • @OnyxCrest They will remake them for the 3DS(or, at least, they SHOULD). I read that they're already considering it but they want to see the 3DS's success first.

  • They need an iOS port of this game. That way we can hear this music in all it's glory. Not that I don't like the DS version, I loved that, but it does NOT sound like this on the DS.

  • @gsonic55 It does on the PSP. :P

  • @OnyxCrest Is the music in the PSP one exactly the same as the DS one (if you choose the option for the enhanced soundtrack)?

  • @gsonic55

Well they have the original and it sounds JUST like the SNES version.

The arrangement settings has the ones from the DS (and Wii, After Years) but they are very clear and crisp sounding.

So, the overworld music sounds like this.

Basically everything sounds like they are supposed to.

  • Ryan8Bit has an amazing remix of this

  • 2 people are deaf

  • my parents want me to resell this game. NEVER.

  • Final Fantasy XII was the last good Final Fantasy.

  • @BobaBiba I thought 12 looked dumb. I would say the last good one was 10 - even that came no where near 6 & 7 though.

  • @arteixinc Im going to be the asshole who says that for a final fantasy game to be good it needs the 2D artstyle.

  • @DoomsdayOdd I don't think so, I just think the masterminds behind the originals left the scene or lost their touch after 10.

  • @arteixinc still, I only got into the games recently.

7 and onwards are so lacking in terms of visuals.

  • @arteixinc except IX now that I think about it.

  • @DoomsdayOdd Yeah, IX is pretty much 3D classic FF, whereas 7 and 8 were a new approach. I'll always love the classical art style and gameplay more.

Hopefully they consider going back to the roots of FF soon, many fans aren't liking the way they're trying to do something new (since it's not as good as how it was).

But I know, instant pre-order when they announce an FF game with 4 in a party, IX styled graphics/enviroments and the return of the world map. That's my dreams XD

  • @Badham94 13 versus my friend.

  • @NlNJAPRlME26 Oh yeah XD I wasn't thinking of that because the combat system looks completely different. But that's true I suppose

  • @Badham94

I like the older Final Fantasy more because of the classical art style, and IX as well.

I mean whenever they decide to relaese Versus in the next sixty years I will get it because it looks awesome, but I would prefer if they make XV they use the classical stuff like the first six, and the ninth one.

  • @OnyxCrest Yeah, my thoughts are exactly the same as yours.

  • @DoomsdayOdd Or 5 in a party, I loved FFIV.

  • @arteixinc

After X it was like.. "Enter Star Wars".

    I mean really...

  • @OnyxCrest XII was less sci-fi than 7 and 8.

It was 7 and 8 which started the sci-fi trend.

XIII was super sci-fi though O_o

  • Where... the... FUCK!... is the extended version of this song! I know it existed at one point in time because I seen it before, somewhere. It was DS version and it went 15 min long, not many views and the last time I listen to the extended version was like some time around 5 or 6 months ago. Now I look for it and now it's nowhere in site! Maybe it got deleted, I don't know but FUCK IT someone should upload the extended version! That's ok good thing tubereplay existed, mother fuckers, Ha. Ha.

  • This is why I run around in the world map

  • @vd853 This is why I stand still on the World Map.

  • how could you dislike ths main theme , it's probably the best in the series

  • @capostatus937 I still haven't made up my mind on which map theme I like most in the series. All I know is that FFIV was the most balanced in terms of abilities of the characters and that's why I always come back to it. It's like Super Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger. No complex customization system, just basic algorithms and a fun story. I want another RPG like this. I am going through Dragon Quest IX, and experience point farming is slow as all hell.

  • @SMRPGFAN101 You ever played Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete for the PS1?

It doesn't have a complex customization system, pretty much just equip your characters and go (Only thing that's a little complex about equipment are accessories since a lot have all sorts of abilities, perma-buffs, and stat growths).

The Battle system can be a little complex if you're not familiar to the game.

Truly AMAZING story as far as i'm concerned, mind blowing Music, just an all out AMAZING game. My favorite game

  • @Pharphain Oh, another thing about Lunar, you get Five characters in battle like Final Fantasy IV, lol. And the main villain in Lunar, In my opinion... the GREATEST villain of all time.

  • I think this is the best Final Fantasy game in the series and I've played them all

  • @capostatus937 Idk about it being best, but it's definitely underrated for a game. Great music themes and a touching storyline to go with it. Very simple, yet very awesome

  • @RockstarGamerXtreme name one that's better and I can tell you why it's not

  • @capostatus937 I'm sure u could man but I don't have time for the likes of u who like to assume that their opinion is better than everyone else's, but hey I guess we all do to some degree. Anyways, have a nice day man :)

  • @RockstarGamerXtreme how cowardly of you

  • @capostatus937

FFIV is amazing, no doubt about it, but don't sit there and tell me that it's impossible for someone to hold that another FF is better IN THEIR OPINION and is wrong for it. Personally, I'll never be able to get over how amazing FFT was, which is my favorite.

  • @Bluedragon094 HAHA, i guess i got a little carried away , i'm just passionate about Final Fantasy. I think you could make a case for FFVI, or VII. I tried to play FFT but it was damn near impossible for me to win this early battle . I wanna beat it badly but it's so hard , any tips?

  • @capostatus937

It's all good in the hood, man.

Depends on the early battle, and I agree the intricacies of the battle mechanics in FFT aren't really explained well unless you go to gamefaqs and read up on it. Plenty of walkthroughs and let's plays on FFT, you can go straight to the battle that's giving you a headache and see how they get through it. Few times in the game you can't grind for levels and job classes if you're really stuck.

  • i like this one, but its big bad last villian was lamer than sephiroth.

  • Yes, this is a very good song....but anyway, why do people always have to leave their hateful opinions of a game where there are many who enjoyed it? I'm sick of people dissing games without a considering others' opinions. Okay so you don't like FF9 (just for example, since it seems to recieve the most jeers here) that's your own problem. but other people here who may have fond memories of that game; you have NO RIGHT to take that from them. you want to be a critic, write a critique on facebook.

  • This is my song that I wake up too.

I now live life to the fullest. Seriously. Try it.

  • 2 People disliked the video for some reason that really doesn't matter and we shouldn't worry about.

Alright? Are we done make these comments?

  • 2 People didn't know how to use Edward in battle

  • 2 people are spoony bards

  • FFIV, FFIX, and FFXIII are my 3 favourite FFs in that order. I liked all of them, I'm just not a douche who will call someone who likes this or that an idiot... Back on topic, amazing theme! ;)

  • 2 people are killed by goblins

  • Final fantasy 3(6) is better but this game is MUCH better then most Final fantasys out today.

  • I really love this song =D

  • @KyuuMayCry oh yeah my top 5 are:

    5-8-4-3-7

a played ff7 as my first ff, but then i beat it and played ff4ds, omg!!! it was soo much better IMHO!!!

  • This is by far my favorite Overworld theme XP

  • I could easily listen to this forever.

  • This and Tethealles overworld map are my favourite ones

  • This and Searching For Friends are probably my favorite FF map themes.

  • My second favorite FF map theme after FF5's "New world".

  • man. this is only like the second final fantasy i ever REALLY played (i tried a few though) and this theme is so awesome, and even though ive only pllayed the DS version, i actually like the original MIDI one better (even though its the same song)

and no im not bashing this version, i just like the other one A LITTLE better

  • this is the only reason I want to get a DS since I cannot find my SNES power cord

  • oooh..now i know this music is called "overlord", now i can find more of this music..^^

  • My favorite FF overworld theme and game. Fuck anything past 6, especially 7

  • @greyfox37 7, 9, and 10 are good. FF4 is more overrated than 7. FF7 is no longer overrated because so many people hate on it to be cool. FF4s story was pretty much this: "OMG golbez got all teh crystals! o ya there r 4 more underground lulz." "Ono he got those 2! O ya theres this ship that clan fly to the moon!" then you get to the moon and meet FuSoYa and hes like O YA GOLBEZ IZ UR BROTHAR N THE BAD GUY IS ZEMUS AND HES CONTROLIGN GOLBES LULZ" Then you play for like 1 hour and beat the game.

  • @PyReFilms Not to mention the random Giant of Babil. Basically, FF4's story felt rushed (at least at the ending) and was came of lame due to all of the characters "dying" only to be found alive later. Compared to later Final Fantasies, FF4's story is just outdated. I also did not care at all about the characters. Later Final Fantasies also had far more likeable and developed characters. Side quests weren't great either.

  • @PyReFilms Oops, I mean "KIND of lame"

  • @PyReFilms Yes because Tidus, Squall, Zidane, and Lightning are so much more likeable than a 3-dimensional character with a past, a conflict in themselves and a challenge to overcome. Sure not all are that perfect but are you really going to tell me that Cecil is less likeable than Tidus?

  • @PyReFilms Your an idiot.

  • @PyReFilms First off, you spoil people who like this game, second, do you even know how many reasons there are to hate VII? What it did to gaming culture, it's terrible and unrealistic character design, but you know, I give it the benefit of the doubt so FF I-VII are fine. 9? 9 is a bad spinoff of a Final Fantasy game, with preteen furries, the most generic concept of video games to date, X is god awful, and I don't need to explain to people who see. At least FFIV has a good plot and characters.

  • @kaibawiz No offense but final fantasy 9 was honestly a great game. Your shitty taste in games offends me and is an embarrassment to gamers.

  • @usernamepw420 So I have bad taste if I like the classics? Don't say I embarrass gamers because many I find agree with me. Honestly, IX was not really a Final Fantasy game. It's preteen furries saving the world, again a very generic topic of gaming. And stupid androgenous characters just prove the indecisivness the game has. Give me a few pages and I will type an essay as to why every Final Fantasy past VII is a shitbomb.

  • @kaibawiz I agree with most of what you said, except FF 9. I loved it.

I think a lot of reasons why players like different Final Fantasies, is because of the time they played them. Everything prior to 9 (including 9), I played before high school. The nostalgia I get when playing them is what allows these games to feel so amazing time and time again.

  • @kaibawiz To each his own. I enjoyed 8,9,10, and 12 around as much as FF4,6, and 7..Maybe i'm less critical.

  • By far, THE best Final Fantasy game to date.

  • 9 out of 10. Had the original on my mp3 player that someone stole. Now I can't find the original which is 10 out of 10. I love putting on my head phones and closing my eyes to this song.

  • Today My friend lend me his FFIV DS... It's waay harder than Super Famicom/SNES version!

Still, I am really liking it.

  • Oh man....i remember when i first played this on gba....my first final fantasy before 7, such an experience.

  • It sounds both sad and hopeful at the same time. That's why I love it. It even cheers me up, reminding me that even though things are tough, never give up.

  • this was my first final fantasy. IT'S F***IN AMAZING

  • @caterpieofdoom Same! FFIV was also my first FF game

  • I've been playing FFIV on GBA emulator. Wish I had a DS just so I could listen to this overworld theme instead.

  • @Ashin809 You do realize DS emulators exist too?

  • @f17coolplane Lol, yeah. I searched for it right after I wrote the comment.

  • @f17coolplane However, DS ROMs usually have loads of graphical glitches, so it's not really a good idea to use them. I tried playing a ROM of this game, but there were so many graphical glitches it was almost impossible to read stuff.

  • This music is the answer to assholes who say that videogames can't have any kind of art in them.

  • @PSspecialist

You have to admit though, the argument isn't completely unfounded considering today's shear crap. You really have to look to classics like this game to back up your argument and it really does suck when you can't point to many modern games and say "that was a piece of art."

    FFIV was so beautiful.

  • @Str8Murder True

  • Why does it sound much more better on the computer than on the DS? Makes me want to replay the game with headphones :P

  • this song is absolutely the FINAL FANTASY.

  • Pretty good, but the original is way better.

  • one thing i really like about this game is more or less Golbez, i just love that fella XD my main in dissidia as well. clad in dark armor and looks more or less like a heavy fighter and makes every weak physical mage cry when they look themselves in the mirror. XD

  • I like this remix there is nothing wrong with it

  • This song=MAJOR EPICNESS!!!

  • hmmm so wait a second...the themes from FF4 collection (the arranged ones) are the same from the DS version?! Cooool!!

  • I really wanted to get into FFXIII but it feels too....I don't really know how to say it. I guess the new FF feels really effeminate, and J-Poppy. Like Final Fantasy X, I get the feeling it caters to drama loving teens.

This game to me feels more epic. The focus is not so much on the drama but the adventure as a whole. Plus both Kane and Cecil look like beasts. I wish that FF would have the same manly protagonists again but that would lose SquareEnix their fangirl base :(

  • @mrbignerd im pretty sure almost everyone whos a true fan of the series thinks the same way, but square enix is very VERY stubbron

-get back to the true hero stories and stop with the high tech, pre-pubesant characters imo.

  • @epicguitarsolo: Don't get me wrong, I LIKED playing Final Fantasy X, but it just didn't have the same feel as I did when playing Final Fantasy IV. I'm sure FF XIII is fun and I'll enjoy it but it in the end, it'll feel like I'm playing through a game of the "Young and Restless" or something, only more J-Poppy and in the future while playing Final Fantasy IV is akin to playing a game through a "Lord of the Rings" setting. You just can't compare the epicness between the two.

  • @mrbignerd

While I agree that the pre-FFVII final fantasy games are best, it's still opinion. A lot of people like the sci-fi setting better.

  • @mrbignerd When I first played this game I adored Cecil and Kain. I still adore them. They are my top favorite FF characters hands down! So not all us fan girls are stuck on their more effeminate male characters.

  • this song relax me so much

it remind me when i was 15 :( great memories great game

  • my first ff was ff X, then VII , XII, III........but then when i played ff IV, i really liked the story and this overworld theme is just too good, making this overworld my favorite of any ff.

  • 2 persons can't defeat the mist dragon

  • @hugothenerd Attacking causes Cold Mist!

They might froze to death there

  • what how is that possible

  • @hugothenerd Hahah, that must be very lame. I beat it when I was just starting to learn what Final Fantasy was all about (The only JRPGs I had played so far were Pokémon, M&L and Paper Mario, so I wanted to try Final Fantasy. I decided to start with the "Golden Age" games 'cause I've seen that the most recent ones have been criticized)

  • @hugothenerd

Because they want Rydia's mom to be alive :D

  • @hugothenerd the plural for more than one person is people. It sounds off when people say persons... Unless it's a last name...

  • Cloud and Sephiroth were here.

  • Beautiful song!

  • i love this song, it's incredibly amazing! this is the best version =D

  • I like this song, but after you hear it EVERY FIVE !@#$!@ SECONDS IT PISSES YOU THE !@#!$%! OFF!!!!

  • @kinichou i can see this version being a little more annoying than the original, more legato than staccato, kapisch?

  • Beautiful song, though this song is from Enya. But it suits FF4 a lot.

  • @yaoistar1

This song was composed by Nobuo Uematsu for FF4. It was arranged for the album Celtic Moon by Máire Breatnach and that version is often wrongly attributed to Enya.

  • @Charmolution So in other words, this Máire Breatnach is the original composer? Because, I have heard this song from Enya. :P I though she was the one who composed it.

  • My favourite genres:

RPG (Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG)

Platformer 3D (Banjo Kazooie, Super Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy)

Platformer 2D (DKC series, Yoshi's Island, Mario games)

    Shmups (Contra III)

    Action Adventure (Zelda)

    Puzzle (Tetris/Dr.Mario)

Not much more than that. I never liked fighting games, or FPS. Even the best ones I grew up watching friends play like Street Fighter and Goldeneye I didn't like too much.

  • i cannot wait for this game to come o ut for the psp!!!!!!!

  • @williamkendrick FUCK YEAH!

  • @GenesisRhapsodos992

    SEAKING!!

  • Good Old Times....~.....Overworlds FTW!

  • I love all the archetypes used in this story.

  • To enjoy this music ingame, you'll need to stand still, one step and it's the battle theme.

Not saying the battle theme is bad, this just makes you more relaxed.

  • Damn it where am I supposed to take the Eidolon calling girl ;_;

  • This was rated one of the best games of the whole series :) it definitely changed the entire RPG world forever

  • Listen to Brandon Flowers' "Right behind you" it almost sounds like hes busting into this tune.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Why? Okay, this song is good, but hearing it every minute makes you really hate it.

  • This part, 1:18, sounds a bit like Airwolf, people who know the Airwolf theme will understand what I mean.

  • (sniff) The greatest final fantasy overworld theme. It captures all of the depressing atmosphere but at the end of the song shows promise. Brilliant......

  • One of the greatest songs ever composed. I'm not even fucking kidding. And I'm a music snob.

  • @zalu One of the greatest songs ever composed. I'm not even fucking kidding. And I'm a music MAJOR.

  • @MrEpicTruth

Since you are, I'd like your opinion on something. Have you ever heard Erik Satie's Gymnopédie No.1? If you have, don't this song and Erik's composition give off the same type of feeling. But this one feels a bit more adventurous, that's about the only difference I've felt.

  • @MrEpicTruth I'm a music mayor.

  • this is just like cry in sorrow

  • Up until Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, this was the only Final Fantasy I had trouble with. I dreaded the overworld.. so many random encounters.

  • The soundtrack to this Final Fantasy is still my favorite.

  • This is one of my favorites. It does perfectly reflect the feel and events in the game, like what Churkirby said.

  • Two words: Cavaliers pit.

  • @thatasianchica yes.

  • not only is this one of the best games ever made, it's also one of the greatest stories ever written. people who say otherwise have never played the game or understood the story in its entirety. and that's a shame.

  • Too depressing.

  • @NeoSpeedfire Huh? It's not exactly upbeat but I wouldn't call it depressing. I guess the music reflects the atmosphere of the events in the game. The music sounds slightly gloomy, but with overtones of happiness and hope.

    ...If that makes any sense

  • @ChurKirby ...

    Too depressing.

  • @ChurKirby you really find it gloomy?? man I listen to this babe with full volume headphones, and it's the most upbeating overworld song ever!! any overworld theme sounds gloomier than this one!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @lightignakelloyd I was trying to defend it's non-gloominess (In answer to 'Neospeedfire') without being too one-sided - but really I was just talking some shit :3

I honestly wouldn't say it was particularly upbeat, but I don't think the music is depressing at all. It is pretty epic though

  • @ChurKirby you're right... is not thaaaat upbeating, it just depends the way you're listening to it, but no one can deny it's pure epicness =D

  • Comment removed

  • To be honest, I prefer the Snes/game boy version over the Ds one. Personally, I can't take the chibi (miniature) version of the characters seriously (they just don't give the same impact as they gave when they were a bunch of pixled cubes) :I Nonetheless, I have to admit- FFIV is the first FF I ever played and it always be my fav :)

  • @ArtTheme I can agree with you on the chibi graphics. I almost didn't buy it because they were chibi. I've gotten use to it...but still ehh

  • Does anyone here know where I could get sheet music for this?

  • The SNES verions does sound a lot better... I don't think Uematsu was with Square anymore when this version was released, so he probably had no say in what instruments were used... And that's probably why it sounds bad.

  • @kurorisu5: As a long time fan of the original game,I can say while I like the classic sound of it, the instruments in this DS rendition are better on the whole. However, I'd agree with you on most of the rest of the DS soundtrack. The main problem Squeenix seems to have going from the SNES to the DS is not one of instrument quality but rather the poor replication of the dynamics of the original material as heard on the SNES... (volume changes, echo and and other effects)

  • Great game. Great music

  • jeez, stop saying "snes version sounds better" in every DS soundtrack video, go and listen to the snes version instead, it sounds better in snes because most of you are used to that version, but give the "new instruments" a chance

  • @croemy actually I heard the DS version first

and I still think it sounds better in the SNES version

  • @Mewizkuit that's why i said most, but not all, for me sounds bettah in the DS version.

  • By far the most immersive theme of all the FFs, considering times of release. The sixth comes close.

  • GOD I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Wow, this is actually very nicely done, I like that they used a flute in this version of the song. It definitely hits the right chords, am looking forward to playing this game once I get my DSi XL paid off. Can't believe I snagged it at Sears for 3 bucks.

  • God this is the only overworld theme that makes me sad. Not because I dislike it or anything, just the combination of notes strikes a certain nostalgia that makes me remember how beautiful everything used to be in the early years of gaming. Just like how simple everything was when we were kids playing this....

  • i am ALL FANS OF FF1,FF2,FF3,FF4,FF5,FF6,FF7,FF8,FF9,FF10,FF11,FF12 AND FF13! XD ! I am LOVING IT

  • @yeebond2023 But not FF CC, FFT, FFTA or FFTA2?

  • @yeebond2023 im love final fantasy maan

  • snes version sounds better

  • IV and V fan all the way.

  • The strings at the start are awesome!

  • I think what people don't realize is that Square Enix makes Final Fantasy games different each time in order to experiment.

There is no problem if you don't like the direction it took, but keep in mind that Square Enix doesn't do it on purpose. They're trying to experiment different ways to play Final Fantasy.

Even all you trolls out there have to admit that Final Fantasy would be boring and stupid if they all had the exact same gameplay and battle system every time.
