@Mentmanjr If you're using Radeon 5770, I suppose you use a laptop? Well, about your GPU (graphics card), its a middle-class one, so it really is nothing special. Your processor, a laptop i5 CPU is pretty similar to a desktop's Core 2 Quad, so its like a "lower high class". I can't tell you nothing about your RAM Memory, because you haven't specified if it's DDRII or DDRIII... Still, 4Gb is great. Overall, you probably will be able to play FSX in high settings. Hope this helped :).
Kinda having the same trouble too... I got the GTX470, an i7 860, and 6 gbs ram, and it does run default fsx, but when I start filmg with fraps I have fps drops from 5-15 fps...I prefer FS9 with addons...much better fps, more available addons and easier to make videos with:p
forget all that stuff about config tweeks, that is for peeps with lame systems. Trim your RAM down to 4gb because I noticed issues when I tried bumping 6gb on my rig. SSD drives like yours are great for performance but dont let them rrun with a standard drive i.e absolutely everything FSX goes on the SSD's apart from some addon scenery that can go on the slow drives
You might wanna check some fsx.cfg tweaks.. i believe u have a great system.
I've seen many vids on youtube (all with i7 CPU running at various clock) ATI cards looks better (no micro stutters even though sometimes FPS is quite low). NVIDIA cards can produce same FPS, but the sad thing is I can see more micro stutters / not smooth).
Anyway... check out the fsx.cfg tweaks on the net.
I don't know, but my video card died (the gtx 285)
I'm going to get the RADEON 5870, no more nvidia cards for me.
My motherboard was also shipped to me defective, so I'm RMA'ing the card and the motherboard...
I got a new EVGA e758 motherboard... I'm going to head out to the store, and get a new graphics card and see how FSX works from there... my i7 processor has some kind of dark spots on it (not burns) but a tiny bit darker than other spots... idk... i may have to buy another processor
@alikhandro2007 FSX is a strange program. You can have 2 of the same computers and get different results between the two. There are some setting guides on the net. Some settings don't do much as far as looks go, but have a big effect on FPS.
WTF?!!

Those processors nowadays are much too far ahead for the gaming companies..
Better spend your money on a good card like the GTX 285 and some more RAM..
You dont need a i7 920 to play this game maxed out, even with mods like REX..
@uploader:
You should not blame nvidia for your failures..
Even that card was damaged during shipping (as the motherboard was, as you say)
or you are unable to set up your PC properly...

FSX needs a good quad core cpu and a couple of mid to high range video cards in crossfire or sli for it to start to shine and run super smooth

You think an expensive card is everything?
3.5GHz + Minimal with your settings.
4.0GhZ + To play it safe.

your defective motherboard might have been giving out wrong voltages to your cpu and graphics card.

You've set everything maxed out, that will bring any system to its knees.

I can't believe FSX show with i7 920 and GTX285 like this.
I have GTX 285 with CPU Q6600 and 2G DDR3 and I have very nice Game, (full setting)+most Addone with big size.
Don't know why u have like this!!! ??????
