Congratz on your pet from when you got him :) I myself got this beast today on my 82 hunter, mind you, this was after I was raging on my main about how OP BM hunters were in arena and decided I wanted to go BM on mine and get a spirit beast, I got this guy after maybe.. an hour, tops, that's it, but before you think 'another lucky bastard' i feel the pain of a long camp, 200+ hours after TLPD, afk for 2 minutes, returned to his corpse on top of me. :(
Just a tip, never take your time before taming him. I made that mistake and a pissed off hunter came found me taming him so he ruined it and killed Loque-nahak before I finished taming him.
there r spots all over sholazar basin to find loque. ur best bet is to get NPC-Scan add-on and the overlay that goes with it. it will show u the spots for all northrend, cata, and bc rares. plus it will set off an alarm if they r in the area. i have those add-ons along with silver dragon because with NPC-Scan you have to clear a cache, silver dragon you can go past the rares multiple times in a day and the alarm will go off. its very helpfull for those looking for rares. good luck =)

Especially for Loque'nahak, he has 7 spawn points, bad odds of him spawning at the one your camping. I patrolled for Skoll, Loque'nahak, and Gondria using NPCscan and i got them all within a couple days.
I farmed him for months (couple of hours a night) and nothing. Tonight I swing by to get my egg and fly by his eastern spawn point by the white apes and guess who's just chillin? My heart was racing. Dismissed pet and started taming. At 85 no need for traps. So stoked I finally got her.
I just tamed my Loque'nahak 2mins ago... after 2days and a half of camping and flying around basin, with the help of NPCscan. wooot2x.. next target Skoll..

Congratulations. I´d like that pet one day but I doubt I will use it for a long time since BM Hunters have too many disadvantages at level 80 except for soloing but then you´d rather use a tanking pet.

@WarriorKitty11 Well it depends how long in those 2 weeks he was camping. If it was 12 hours a day for 2 weeks compared to someone elses hour or two for 3 months then I'd say his is a bit more strenuous ;)
However, I doubt he was camping 12 hours a day. Hunters haven't camped pets for that long since Vanilla.
i got him at 77 with no flying just running around, took me 3 days of no sleep and had like 15 lv80 hunters flying around also looking for him, it was a blessing. I got ganked by one of them when i was running, so i gave up, logged in 2 hours later, walked to my body and there he was.
I have a picture of handsome Loque on my coffee/tea mug. The blue effects don.'t glow in the dark though. It would be cool to see a mount of that hot cat.
Nice one, leveling a hunter atm too, I'm just wondering whats the best pve pet for a hunter, and I came across this. Perhaps a tip for taming: trap in between you and the beast and pull by channeling Tame Beast, especially on low lvls where your trap duration is shorter this helps you out while taming, atleast did for me!
i tamed him when wotlk first came out. i wasnt looking for him at all and just happened to come across him. too bad BM is a shitty spec or else i would use him.
My way of taming a beast without getting attacke once. Put a frost trap near the beast you are gonna tame but no close enough for aggro. Back up, use concussive shot, then tame beast, after 3 seconds of walking all slow, the beast will run towards you, then they will run into your trap while you tame, by the time they get out, You will have the beast tamed without getting hit once :3
That is the best way of doing it, but in Loque's case you have to "tag" him first. If you don't, then it's very likely that soemone else will come along mid-tame and kill him.
He's not quite as hard to get now, but back when I was trying to tame him late last year, you couldn't be anywhere in the Sholazar Basin w/out another player happening by within 20 seconds or less.
If you didn't shoot Loque first, he'd be fair game for anyone else to kill for the achievement and loot.
@Foobarmovies all u ahv to do is put a frost trap in front of u now. lasts planty long enough. unless your taming a boss than u just gotta take the hits :P and die a lot depending on your lvl and gear :]
If you tag it, then it will be gray to them. You need to have the aggro or the beast's "attention" to be able to tame it, so no. You always want to tag a pet like this if you think there are other Hunters or players swarming nearby. If they're real asses they may want to kill it anyway, but worst case scenario you still get the loot another step towards the frostbitten achievement.
I didn't know it was "Freezable" I also didn't know it was that small. Only times that i've ever encountered it, it was about 20x larger, and "Immune" to CC/snare effects.

Just tamed my Loque last night at about 10:20pm server time on Sentinels. I was at my last last spawn point for the night - gorillas and waterfall - I had actually brought up the menu to exit the game when he spawned right in front of me! I dismounted, abandoned my pet, dropped the trap, fired a distracting shot, and tamed without a hitch. Didn't even hit me once. Odd thing - didn't jump me like I've seen in videos... just ran directly into the trap. 10 Hours farming total.
I used to search for this babe for about 5 days and i found nothing, so i quit. Today i was heading to Icecrown to do dailies and i was just passing from one of his spawn points and he was there!!Tamed today. Azoulapouza of Haomarush

Once you get the Frost Trap spell, that spell is your taming best-buddy along with conc shot

i am on a mad seach for loque too ive spent days trying to find him and i haven even seen him yet dead or alive i check all the spawns only too find nothing also i offer 300g to any1 who spots him and doesnt kill him. what was ur method.

dont worry ull find him, i did when i thought id never find him, search early in the morning, when most people arent up and check the 5 spots he appears in, ull get him dont worry, AND SHES AWESOME,

Have u found him yet? If not.. Try downloading the NPC scan Addon...I found it useful...And I found not giving up and searching all the time make u find him.. I promise..Stay positive

Pitbull is the unit frame replacement addon used. The rest of the UI is comprised of a whole bunch of different addons. I have them all listed on my site.

Just tamed my Loque last night at about 10:20pm server time on Sentinels. I was at my last last spawn point for the night - gorillas and waterfall - I had actually brought up the menu to exit the game when he spawned right in front of me! I dismounted, abandoned my pet, dropped the trap, fired a distracting shot, and tamed without a hitch. Didn't even hit me once. Odd thing - didn't jump me like I've seen in videos... just ran directly into the trap. 10 Hours farming total.

Loque's a neutral mob, so it only attacks once you start taming or attacking.

I'm not surprised. I spent a looong time looking for him, but ended up taming him when i wasn't looking for him. I was waiting for King Krush when loque spawned.

About 4-6 hrs per day over 12 days. When I found him it was pure luck. Check out the Q & A post on my site.
