  • Too bad you didn't post the settings, which ones did you use?

  • At 3:56 , I was like nooo it froze!!

but when u sad it was saving I was all smiley face.

Question: does the m1330 have a backlit keyboard?

  • no, it doesn't :/

however, dell just released the studio xps 13, which is a little more powerful than the m1330 and has a backlit keyboard :D

  • Can this run GTA IV?

  • yep it can

  • If you put EVERYTHING on low it can run at about 30fps! ;D

  • holy crap thats horabel i got a difrent laptop with a 9600m gt in it and i can run tf2 on 1790 and some time 200 fps

i dont no how good the graphics in this are on hi but thats crap for low

  • Well it IS a 4.3 pound laptop.

  • TF2? lol my acer runs fine with that game....

  • anyone know how well WoW runs on it?

  • smooth as a babies bum

  • how much are theese comps?

  • Starting at $1150 and up to around $2000 if you max everything out.

  • Run Crysis on it. xD

  • omg! your voice is so classic :D

  • thanks for the review, very well done:D

The PC is not bad, I think with the newer XPSs, the resaults would be better.

BTW: you might have to work a little on your shooting :p

  • This is the demo =P

  • fear is my favorite game i play everyday online and when i dont have internet i play single player for practice :) and im planning to buy this card i found some 40 50 bucks

  • i found the 8400gs for 50 bucks on circuit city

  • which settings are you playing?

  • damn....I had no idea the 1330 could run something like fear, if only with slightly dodgy framerates....do u think it could manage, say, sins of a solar empire?

  • @ tablemountainhobbit Yeah It could surely run SOSE... my computer runs it. The specs are as follows.

Pentium 4 @ 3.06 GHZ, 128mb GeForce 5700 LE, 512mb DDR RAM, Windows XP home.

And because m1330> my poopbox computer. So yeah, it'll run.

  • Nooo Lol i mean i can got the highest lvl in this game not doom (nightmare=highest) so i got high lvlin this single player game... and its easy to me

  • Lol u suckk!!!!!11 i better then u u just shooting

overthe rooms...and i proffsional so its easy to me i finished the game 3 times in NightMare lvl

    1\5

  • What the fuck? Are you playing Doom?

  • Osherzx is retarded.

  • 59C tell my about it!

i have macbook po and XPS M1730

its running 75C CPU and 86C GPU on F.E.A.R

and on crisys its runing 81C CPU and 88C Gpu

the macbook have the same temperatures on that games!

  • I wonder how well this game runs on the m1530 w/ an 8600GT

  • Hey I'm kinda curious, the other m1330 version is available with intel GMA x1300. Will this intel graphics version worked fine with, say f.e.a.r game?

Anyone has a review on this?

  • nope, you can absolutely forget that. it'll probably run minesweeper, but that's it.

  • Hey bro, that's a pretty graphics intensive application there. I tried playing around with the anisotropic filtering and I STILL can't get it to run above 3 fps.

  • GIEF!

  • lol at the end. nice vid overall!

  • Mad player...

  • wow 8400 GS is a good stuff for a low end card...

  • f.e.a.r is one hell of a scary game

  • i'm hinging between a m1530 and m1330....

    the m1330 is 4 pounds vs 6 for the m1530, but for the same price($1250), the m1530 gets a T8300(2.4ghz 800mhz) + 4GB ram(useless in 32bit), 15.3", 256 MB 8600M GT while the m1330 gets T5750(2.0 ghz 667mhz), 3GB ram, 13.3" LED (Lighter+power efficient), 128MB 8400M GS..... hard choice..... but i think i want size over specs, since the m1330 specs isn't that bad if you don't max the game's quality settings.... any opinion/guidance?

  • i had the same problem. after thinking about it, i wasn't going to be playing any huge graphical games exept for halo 2 or crysis. so i went with the 1330. the 4gb of ram really isn't necessary unless your a power junky or for bragging rights. as far as the processor, wonderful for its size ( up to 2.5 or 2.6Ghz i believe). and the standard nvidia 8400 gs isnt the worlds greatest, but packs a punch for its size and power consumption. Overall... the 1330 is your best bet.

  • Here's a good idea... Think REALISTICALLY over what you want. Do you want to carry this everywhere? Do you want to strain your eyes over the tiny screen using it as your main comp? The decision's pretty obvious after knowing exactly what you want.

  • you could just hook your laptop up to a cheap 22" monitor and keyboard when using it at home...

    best of both worlds.

  • Impressive... for a laptop. I think that the 8400 has good potential but really new games will stuggle

  • FEAR is a pc game, since anyone in their right mind wouldnt play FEAR on a damn console

  • thats good , and thats a xbox 360 game , im buying that laptop

  • how long does it take 2 download it.

  • bout 15 minutes. though it took 10 minutes for me cause i have a really good computer

  • ImosskShadow, download time does'nt fucking depend on your computer (unless you have a really really shit modem) it depends on your internet speed

  • If you turned shadows off you would see a 25-30% increase in performance.

  • 8400 is better than we think

  • that might look good if youtube didnt have a crap video player

  • I love this game. i played it first on the 360. was a little disappointed with how easy it was. it took me the first day to beat it with no deaths. but buying it for my pc soon simply cause i love the game

  • nice,

  • dude FEAR owns

  • looks playable to me

  • so an 8600 u could put every thin on maximum

  • awesome vid no way a mac pro could do this with stock intel vcard

  • is 8400GS good?

  • not really getting 28fps in an old game like fear isn't good tbh.

  • Y'all.

  • not bad for a dell

  • Terrible review. I love the concept of playing a game in real time during a review, but you have to use video capture. I know it kills the framerate, but it's a necessity.

    Good idea, bad execution 3/5

  • that probabley runa at like 50 without fraps tho

  • hes not using fraps. u hear the audio for god's sake?

  • lol i wish i knew what u guys are talking about

  • hes using fraps for the FPS but not recording u mean

  • wow then i doubt it can run crysis smooth kinda awaree but if its FRAPs it half of the FPS rite?

  • LOL hes playing on vista... that reduce FPS by 50% haha owned

  • very helpful

  • k, his review about the actual machine was fairly poor. but i do like what hes done here.

benchmarking the notebook with fear and actually posting a decent review about it.

not only that but lets be honest, hes not a bad gamer either!

Nice one dude, redeemage from the machine reviewage

  • awesome review. just bought the new m1530 w/ 2.6ghz cpu / 800mhz 4g ram and the new 8600 gt. cant wait.

  • are you american cos you cant get 2.6GHz in UK

  • We can get 2.6Ghz in Canada.

  • im confuse?? u mean u can get 2.6 ghz On the M1330? im not sure but if max proccessor then of course it can. but if u put the 8600 GT i bet it'll run alot better.

  • hmm no.. As far as i know. This is the top configuration you can get for M1330 .

    Processor 2.2 Ghz

Video 128 mb Card NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS / 128MB

M15 could be configured withe 256 version of that video card.

I ordered my M1330 .. with a 2.2 Ghz CPU, 3 gb ram and that 128 mb video card. hopefully vista won't have a problem with it. can't wait to get this beast!

  • lmao it aint a beast. fear is an old game

  • Good review. What the CS source demo average FPS?

  • Gotta be in the 90s if not 100s... Thats just a guess. I have a 6800, 2 GHz CPU and I get 70 almost always...

  • im wondering about the moviwe software

  • And would the 4 gb dual channel make the gaming faster? I'm not very smart with computers.. I was just planning on buying this one and if the difference would make the computer faster.. And sorry for the vulgorness of the name please ignore..

  • NO, anything over 2 is too much for just gaming, unless your editing a movie and listening to itunes, while downloading a movie, while playing fear, you dont need 4. you need a better graphics card or cpu, THATS were your money should go.

  • Or playing Crysis.

  • lol, true.

  • unless you run vista

  • You think with these specs it would run faster then the one currently in the video?

    Gaming that is..PROCESSOR:Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB, 4MB Cache)

    MEMORY:2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz HARD DRIVE:Speed: 120GB SATA Hard Drive(7200RPM)VIDEO CARD: 128MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8400M GS.

  • You ran this with a 8400GS?

  • I guess you do have the GeForce Go 8400M GS right? because it isn't specified in your specs. If not then mine will rock with F.E.A.R

  • ah, man, I can't believe I forgot to list that -- yes, this IS with the geforce 8400gs

  • do you think the gma would be complete crap for this game or do you think a faster cpu wold make up for it?(thinking about a macbook.)

  • If you've got a dual core cpu, you might be able to crank out 12 fps on all low. That's how much a graphics card matters.

  • hmm, im making my own pc now, getting a 2600xt(maybe 3850) it will rock.

  • Why the fuck would you get a 2600 with the 3850 out? It uses double the power, for half the graphics ability of a 3850. A 3850 is just a 3870 with half the memory and a lower binned core.

  • yes i know, im now getting a 3850 oc with 512mb ram.

  • how much does a 3850 cost?

  • No, it matters depending on a game. FEAR benefits from a graphics card the most. Something like Quake4 in a multi-thread mode will benefit from a quad core cpu a lot more than from a dual core.

  • I have a 256mb card (Nvidea GeForce 7300 GS) and i have to run fear in low settings to get it to run proply...

  • kan this pc play supreme commander on medium fidelity?

  • I don't know why, but the demo has more fun maps to play. But the demo is just small

  • I've seen/ I bet You can get 20-50 more FPS

  • you think this beauty will run Bioshock or any other heavy graphics-loader programs?

  • Actually i'm running bioshock in 1024x768 at full graphics detail with directx 9.0c with an core 2 quad Q6600, geforce 8400gs 512RAM, 2Gigas Ram, and an asus P5NSLI.. and runs more than great...

  • fraps slows down pc by a good 10 fps+

  • That really depends on your own PC, one of my older PCs got killed by fraps but my newest one is barely affected.

Also, FRAPS doesn't really slow your PC down unless you start recording, which jrinco11 wasn't doing since you can see that he knocks the camera he's using to record the laptop screen towards the end of the video.

  • ohh yeah.. i thought he was recording lol...the xps m1210 is better for gaming..ur right if u save it to your hd it slows down your pc a ton

  • i say it runs ok,with vista and all i think your gona need more ram lol

  • He is playing xbox 360 NOT dell m1330... how stupid can people be. They really have soo much time.

  • Since when can you use fraps on xbox 36? Dumbass

  • I forgot to add that you cant change the video settings on the 360...

  • Your a fuckin idiot because you can see the fraps numbers on the left part of the screen dumbshit

  • Can you please try out halo 2 for me. PLEASE

  • stock drivers?

  • yes, just turned the laptop on and installed fear (so it'd probably be better w/a fresh reinstall (no dell crap), and even xp)

  • Im considering same labtop or the Latitude D630 NVS M135 Quadro graphics. What do you thing is better in terms of graphic performance quadro 135m or 8400 on the xps 1330?

  • nerd!

  • PC gamers have only FPS on their mind. Remember, comsoles are the best at gaming!

  • Consoles*

And 2nd Yes they are for gaming but not the best, And Console gamers are limited.

  • PC games have better graphics than consoles, consoles play at like Med/High too mantain a constant FPS, we can crank it all the way up

  • pc games have way higher res textures and just higher res alltogether.

  • im new to this whole laptop thing and ive been planning to get one, which is better for gaming performance, DELL XPS M1330 or M1710

  • What do you think of the LED back light screen compared to regular a Flouresant backlite LCD.

  • oh yah, and this is running w/vista (which means it'd probably run better w/xp)

  • Looks kind of sticky in places, I'd have to say my Xbox 360 runs this game about 5-10 times better.

  • Still not going to be powerful though like the 7950 GTX for laptops

  • Well, it's quite amazing what the m1330 does if you look at the size of this thing :O

  • This is amazing on high, even the new consoles can only churn out 30fps in this game

  • A question about the laptop itself, how much noise does it make when it's on idle? So that i can leave it on while i am sleaping, without getting crazy about the noise..

  • nice video, thank you

  • Thanks for the review!

    Have you tried BF2/BF2 demo?

  • You didn't list your computer configuration. What CPU, how much ram, and which screen option do you have? Whatever, it is what it is. Whatever. I'll just fancy a guess.

  • yes I did, check the info on the video

  • Im probably getting this at end of the year, do u think dell will be offering an Nvidia 256Mb card by that time and if they dont will i beable to get one from nvidia and put it in the computer myself, plz reply thanks

  • You are waiting for Crysis?

  • does this graphics crad rank up to a 7800 GTX?

  • No the 7950 Is still king for the laptops but 8800 Ultra is king for desktops for now and i think will stay like so until the next 2 or 3 years

  • I doubt the next 2 - 3 years, a new series in november.. so eveything wil be upgraded.

  • another good review, thanks for your time.

  • Not a huge dell fan, I thought the 8400 GS was better than the 7800GTX? My laptop is over a year old now (Custom Sager 57200) no dual core 2gb ram 3.2ghz. I get a steady 60fps with those settings and textures to max. Must be vista :X

  • yah, my guess would be vista's taking up a bunch of resources :-\

  • how would you say the GeForec 8400 GS card is? does it rand up to the 7800 GTX? thanks.

  • which do you think performs better? the m1330 or the m1210?

  • definitely the m1330 -- you can check my other videos for the m1210 fear gameplay

  • the m1330 is much smoother and more responsive than the m1210 was by far (tho, turn down the settings on the m1210 and it will play well)

  • is that on high setting?

  • check the video at about 4:25 for the settings
