Keep in mind that the camera lens is only slightly larger than the tip of a sharpie, so it needs a lot of light to capture good images. All things considered, it's a good camera for what it is, but I still carry a good point and shoot with me.

I dont know if you were serious, but the difference is the following:

They both shoot HD 720P video, which is 2nd highest quality video. iPhone had 5 megapixel camera, ipod has 0.7 megapixel, so iPhone will have clearer color, and since iPhone 4 had HDR (high dynamic range) option, it has better focus. But for video, they are very similar because of 720 P.

For still pictures, iPhone is way better.

i'm surprised to find that i'd prefer to shoot with the itouch. you get a wider field of view which is more cinematic. colour and light levels can all be fixed with a quick white balance and shooting with a light setup. although iphone handles dark rooms better because of its larger sensor.
