well it depneds what type of breaks i work at a bike shop so i know some stuff about breaks and if he has juicy breaks which btw i highly recommened u have to bleed them ever 3 months and some of them start squeakin if u go over without oiling

you angle your feet down so that u use the tread in your shoes with the pedals. If you then push back into the pedals, then it lifts the back up aswell
