hey everyone, this recipe worked great for me. I've tried other recipes, and I literally just threw my previous in the trash. But with this one, they taste good and look good!
Do you have to put rum in, cant you just do rasin scones ? im thinking of doing this for my final food project? but i only get an hour, will these be done in an hour?
I made these and Im only 15 haha but my dad is SUPER picky about sweet things and when he likes something you know its good. He didnt like these scones. HE LOVED THEM. Its a fantastic recipe and I made them for my mom on mothers day and she loves scones and rum raisin ice cream so she adored them. :D thanks for sharing this recipe
Hey Laura! Check out Dorrie Greenspans cookbook (I believe it's called Baking)- it's to die for. She has the best recipe for scones I've ever made (though I'm sure this recipe gives her a run for her money). :)
Laura I'm Noob in the Kitchen. Could you kindly post a video of something easy to do without tons of engredients? I watch every video although I can't make the majority of them :D
@ashram97 Raw sugar basically looks like brown sea salt and it's drier than brown sugar. There's a great brand, Sugar in the Raw, that makes great raw sugar :)
@bobobobobob93 It's not necessary because the dough is thick and things will remain in place as opposed to making things like muffins where stuff like chocolate chips and blueberries would sink to the bottom of the batter if you did not coat them in flour.

instead of squeezing the butter into tiny pieces, a good idea is to grate the cold butter :)

She knows what she's doing. I'm a pastry chef, but don't have a good recipe for scones. This looks wonderful. Got to try it.
